Luz let a Willow led the group to a nearby cafe for lunch as Boscha was looking over her wallet to pay for lunch, she was a woman of her word after all. She was still going to ask Luz about how she got so fast, even if she keeps saying no to telling her.
"So, you guys know a lot about my family, what can you tell me about yours?" Luz asked.
"Sure, let's get a booth first." Skara said as she the both headed to a booth big enough for all 6 of them.
"So, what can you tell me about your family Skara?" Luz asked, "If you're related to Lilith, then I'm sure we'll be seeing each other very often."
"Yeah, we will. I am her niece, her younger sister is my mom." Skara said as she gestured to herself. "If Lilith ever marries your mom, we'll end up cousins."
"Huh, I haven't thought about that." Luz said.
Having a cousin would be strange but it might be fun, Luz didn't really have any family her own age to hang out with because she never fit in with them. Maybe having Skara as a future cousin could be alright.
"Yeah, I'm sure mom and Xixi would love seeing aunt Lilith happy and married." Skara added.
"So, Boscha, what about yours?"
The track girl shrugged her shoulders before answering.
"Nothing much to know. I was born into a rich family with high expectations and worked hard to meet them. Was a straight A student, captain of the track and field team, and very popular but I kinda became an asshole." Boscha said as she looked over the café menu. "Amity as like me in terms of family and expectations but was a lot nicer, we bumped heads a few times before she helped me break out of it."
"Really? You changed her that much?" Luz asked the green haired girl of the group.
"A friend can help a lot in a time of need." Amity said.
Luz doesn't know what it's like. She's always been a loner, even before being a vigilante. Before she just never fit in, after her dad... was gone, she began to push people away. She's been a lone wolf her whole life, it's become second nature to her.
"We cut off ties with our parents and started our own business." Boscha said, shaking Luz out of her thoughts.
"Oh? And what business would that be?"
Boscha smirked.
"You're sitting in it."
Luz actually looked surprised by this, looking around the café and seeing the business it was taking in.
"You two? Made this place?" Luz said in surprise.
"It took a lot of work, but we did." Boscha said.
"All by ourselves, none of our parent's money is involved, so there's nothing they can do to stop it." Amity said, "Not like mine haven't tried, I eventually got a restraining order against them."
"Damn, really? I know parents can be a little much some times but I would never think of putting a restraining order on them." Luz said.
"Just talk with my parents for 5 minutes and you'll understand." Amity said to her with a blank tone.
"Trust her, they are THAT exhausting." Skara said with a head shaking. "Moving on, my mom and Lilith's sister, Eda, runs the town thrift store/pawnshop although she calls it an antique store. Eda's Antiques. And my Xixi is a professional musician, one of the best in the country.
"Too bad they have stage fright." Gus commented before Skara punched his arm. "Ow."
"Shut up." Skara told him.
"How in the fuck does that work?" Luz asked.
"Xixi usually prefers to record in private recording studios or when no one can see them. They love music too much to NOT play." Skara said as she gestured to herself. "I don't have that problem but I want to be as good as them one day."
"I'm sure you will." Luz said, "I was pretty good with a guitar, maybe we could play sometime."
"That could be fun." Skara said.
"Anything else I should know?"
"When you see my mother, don't mention her arm." Skara said.
Luz raised a brow to that but still nodded to Skara, if it was a sensitive subject, she couldn't pick at it.
"Alright, now about you two?" Luz asked as she looked to Willow and Gus.
Well, my dad is the local news reporter." Gus said.
"And my dad's run the local flower shop." Willow said.
"Wow, that's... normal." Luz said, "I'm kind of jealous. My life has been full of adventure and danger. It would be nice to just relax and be normal."
"Really? Due tell." Amity said as everyone turned their attention to Luz. "What's so hard about your job?"
"Just know that I'm trying to make my dad proud in my own way." Luz said.
'And by my own way, I mean killing criminals.' Luz thought as she looked over a menu.
"I've run into a lot of bad people that want revenge on my family, like that guy with the knife from earlier." Luz said, "I've lost track of how many times I've had a gun pointed at me."
"Well, maybe the local vigilantes will save you next time." Skara said.
"Vigilantes?"
