Luz looked and saw a woman, around Lilith's age, with orange hair that is graying with age, a red dress, and a fake arm.
"Well, retirement is getting boring, so I decided to bring the family over and introduce them to your girlfriend." Eda said.
"Raine and Skara are here too?" Lilith said in surprise.
"So, you're Skara's mom." Luz said, remembering what Skara told her about her family yesterday.
"Yep, nice to meet you... Lux?"
"It's Luz." Luz corrected.
"Yeah, that, Skara told me about you." Eda noticed her looking and removed her prosthetic arm, "Alright, get a good look."
Luz rose a brow to this, not thinking that Eda would react like this after Skara's warnings.
'I just glanced at it and she's freaking out?' Luz thought with a raised brow.
"Is that really necessary?" Luz asked.
"I just do it when people look at my arm." Eda said, "I gotten glances and looks from it for almost a decade."
Eda reattached her arm and moved the fingers.
"And you enjoy it?" Luz asked. "Their reactions I mean?"
"Sometimes." Eda said with a smirk.
"You like messing with people by making them feel uncomfortable?" Luz asked, "I already like you."
Eda rubbed Luz's head and chuckled.
"I think I'm going to like you as well." Eda said.
"Yeah, but don't touch the hair. I got it just the way I like it. Shaggy." Luz said as she pushed Eda's hand away.
"Now I REALLY like you." Eda said with a smile, "Now, do you know about the towns... secret side?"
"Edalyn, don't-"
"You mean with people doing... strange things?" Luz asked, "Yeah, I've seen it."
"Really? Then this just makes things easier!" Eda said with a smile.
"Edalyn, listen to me!" Lilith said as she walked to her sister.
"What Lily?" Eda asked, "I'm trying to teach your new kid something. I was a teacher, it's in my nature."
"I know but listen." Lilith said as she moved closer to her ear, whispering. "I haven't told Luz THAT yet. I've told Camilia and she's surprisingly calm about it but I haven't told Luz yet."
"Then just ignore that part and tell her the truth about the town." Eda said.
"You... you do know I can hear you, right?" Luz said, "And what exactly do you want to tell?"
"This town is full of witches, demons, all those kinds of things." Eda said.
"….Is this some kind of bad joke?" Luz asked with a raised a brow, not believing it for a second.
'I GUESS that could explain my run in with Abomination and Toxin but I can't be sure.' Luz thought.
"Don't believe me, huh? Well, how about some proof then?" Eda said as she pulls her hair back to reveal pointy ears like a Christmas elf.
"Okay, I have noticed some people with those ears." Luz said.
"And, how about this?" Eda asked, making a spell circle.
A ball of light formed and floated between them. This made Luz look very surprise as she gazed at the hall of light.
'Magic…..is real.' Luz thought slowly.
"The town is mostly of witches and demons, anything weird you humans think of as legend or stories, hiding in plain sight." Eda further explained.
"Wait, so does that mean Skara's a witch too?" Luz asked, "And if your a witch, that's means... Lilith's a witch."
Lilith placed her hands on Luz's shoulders.
"Luz, you have to believe me, I was going to tell you when I was ready." Lilith said, "I just didn't want you to freak-"
Luz put a hand up.
"It's fine, I know how important secrets are." Luz said.
Lilith looked surprised at Luz quick acceptance, just like she did with Camilia.
"You... understand?" Lilith asked.
"I have secrets too. So it wouldn't make sense for me to judge you for keeping secrets." Luz said, "As long as you accept that I have secrets, then I'll accept you have your secrets."
"Luz, of course I accept that you have secrets, and if you ever feel comfortable telling me, I'll be here."
"Thank you... mom."
Even if it was only day two of them knowing each but Luz just felt so much trust in Lilith now. She could trust her with her second life someday but for now, it's enough to tell Lilith that she accepted her as a second mother.
Lilith hugged Luz, almost triggering a fight response, but Luz held it off. Luz returned the hug.
"Come on, we've done enough for now, we can come back later." Lilith said, "Let's go see the rest of our family."
"Sure, sounds like a plan." Luz said with a nod.
"I'll be outside the locker room waiting for you." Eda said as she turns to leave.
"Okay, let's go change, Luz." Lilith said.
"Okay, mom."
Stepping back into the locker room, the new mother and daughter changed back into their normal clothes before heading upstairs to meet with Eda, Skara, and her other parent.
'What was their name again? Raine?' Luz thought.
Lilith put a hand on Luz's shoulder, guiding her over to Raine.
"Luz, this is Eda's partner, Raine." Lilith said.
Looking over Raine, Luz saw that they looked like a male with a female face, gray hair, and green eyes with glasses.
"Hello, Luz, it's nice to meet you. Skara has told me a bit about you." Raine said, a feminine voice, as they held their hand out to her.
"Nice to meet you, too. Skara has told you're a top-notch musician. Wants to be just as great as you someday." Luz said as she shook their hand.
"Well, I would love it if my daughter followed in my footsteps." Raine said, "But I think she'll be better than I am."
"I won't be nearly as good as you." Skara said, "You're amazing."
"Hey, Skara, can I talk to you?" Luz asked, "I recently learned about the town's... secret side."
"The secret side? You mean…" Skara said to her.
"Witches, demons, all weird legends in human history; yes. Eda even showed me a circle of magic energy." Luz said to her.
"A spell circle is the proper term but that's great! It'll make things so much easier between us now that you know the truth." Skara said with a smile.
"So, how many of our friends are witches?" Luz asked.
"That's something you would have to ask them." Skara said.
"If you say so. So, have you me met my mom yet?" Luz asked, changing the subject.
"Yeah, we have. She's a really nice woman." Skara said with a nod.
"Must be genetic." Skara said.
"What do you mean?"
"Luz, I've only known you for a day and I can already tell that you're a nice person." Skara said, leaning close and whispering into her ear, "Am I wrong... Mr. Hardcore."
