They reached the den, where their parents were talking and having some tea.
"Girls, you're back." Camilia said with a smile.
"Yeah, I wanted to show Skara the old guitar I used to play."
"Oh? You play?" Raine asked with interest.
"A little but it's been too long. I'm a little rusty." Luz said am with a shrug.
"Well, I would be glad to show you a little if you ever want to get back into it." Raine said.
"Really? Even though you don't know what kind of guitar it is?" Luz asked as she sat on the couch arm next to her mother.
"From what Eda and Lilith have told me, I think I can pick up on any kind of instrument magically." Raine said as They drew a spell circle, summoning an acoustic guitar before changing it into an electric guitar.
"Okay, I'm jealous."
"Yeah, Xixi can summon any instrument and change it into another. They're one of the best Bard witches in town." Skara said as she grabbed the electric guitar. "And the best part is that Bard magic requires no amps."
Skara gave a small riff of rock, sending a small sound wave that shook the room.
"Careful, Skara or you'll bring the house down." Eda joked, rock music was one of her favorites.
"That only happened once." Skara said.
"Once?" Luz asked with a smirk as she leaned forward. "Tell me…. right now."
"Well... I might've had an abandoned building as my 'studio', I just didn't... think about it before rocking."
"She caused the entire warehouse to come crashing down! Almost destroyed the whole dock district!" Eda said with a chuckle.
"Almost got the attention of the police force, luckily a few witches helped cover it up as an unstable building giving out." Raine said as they patted their daughter's head.
"Xixi. Mom." Skara said with a groan.
"Ahahahahaha, now that's rock and roll!" Luz said as she laughed.
Skara pouted.
"I regret coming over." Skara said, "Can we talk about something else?"
"Okay, Skara. We will." Camilia said before she pulled out a photo album. "How about some baby pictures of Luz?"
"NO!" Luz shouted at her mother, looking at her in horror!
Skara couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh yes please. Show us, Ms. Noceda." Skara said to her with a nod.
"Please, call me Camila." Camila said with a smile to Skara. "Or auntie if you like, it feels like we're family already."
"Not until the wedding." Eda said with a smirk.
Luz started looking through her jacket for her matches but couldn't find them.
'What's the point of gluing a match strip to your sneaker if you don't carry them?!' Luz thought.
From that point on, Luz had to endure the embarrassment of her new family gazing at her childhood moments and making comments. Like bathing in the kitchen sink, a very messy day of daycare, and one where Luz dressed as an otter for a comic book convention.
'WHY DID I DRESS LIKE THAT BACK THEM?!' She thought as she pulled her beanie down over her face to hide her blush.
Skara and Eda was having a riot of laughter as Raine tried to be gentle and hide their chuckles.
"How did she go from that... to what she is now?" Skara said.
"I grew out of it." Luz said as she crossed her arms.
"And kept it." Camilia said with a smirk.
"I did not KEEP the otter suit." Luz said to her mother.
"Sure." Camila said, "She totally kept it."
Luz was very tempted to pull out her pistol, but she didn't. So, she did the next thing a 24 year old woman could do... drink.
"I'm going to get a beer." Luz said as she left the den, heading to the kitchen.
So, if Raine is called "She" in this, just know it's not intentional. Jss2141 and I have spent a long time working on this and some of it was very late at night, so sometimes we miss somethings. If you notice that, let me know so I can fix it. Also I'm going to take a break from Owl House stuff until Season 2B begins, but, I have started writing an Encanto fanfiction called, "Bloodstained Butterflies" if you're interested. Follow, Favorite, and Review for more.
