The next day, Luz was in the kitchen, eating cereal. She was an adult, but if you said she's too old for her fruity pebbles she will beat you to death. Besides, there's no age limit on what kind of cereal a person eats. All cereal is part of a balanced breakfast after all, the grain portion.
"I see you're up." Lilith said, walking into the kitchen.
"I wake up at three in the morning everyday."
"I do as well. Edalyn always called me a "night owl" because of it." Lilith said as she went to the fridge, "Ironic coming from the Owl Lady herself."
"Guess that's something else we have in common." Luz said, "You know, I want to hang out more with Skara. So, why don't you and mom go on a double date with Aunt Eda and Raine?"
"Well, seeing as Eda lives on a chain of islands a mile away from the cost, that would be difficult." Lilith said.
"I think it's a wonderful idea."
Turning to the entrance to the kitchen, Luz and Lilith saw that Camila was up early like them. Because her daughter was a vigilante, she grew acclimated to Luz's early morning wake up and couldn't undo it. The worry that Luz would come home severely injured was the main reason. The image of Luz pulling bullets out of her arm, on the verge of bleeding to death, still held on tight to her mind. She would never forget it, as long as she lived.
"We haven't had a date since I visited you in two years." Camila said, "I say we should go out tonight, that way I can learn more about your family."
"I don't know. I'd rather not have anything embarrassing revealed if Edalyn gets drunk again." Lilith said.
"Like what?" Luz asked, "Anything embarrassing you did as a kid?"
"Fine." Lilith said, being worn down, "I'll go tell Edalyn that we'll drop Luz off at her island and that the four of us will go out."
"Great! I have the perfect outfit for a day on the town." Camila said as she went to get ready.
At the Owl House, Skara was in the living room, trying to fix a computer. She didn't have a job per say, so she started this small business where she fixes old computers. Hey, she graduated from M.I.T at seventeen, had to use her intelligence for something.
"Hey, Skar." Eda said, "I have some news. Your future cousin is coming over while your aunt and her girlfriend go on a double date with your XiXi and I."
"Really? Luz is coming over?" Skara asked in surprise, stopping mid repair.
"Yeah, figured you two might need to have a little girl time and get to know each other." Eda said.
'And maybe work together on what information Luz got from that factory.' Skara thought as she went back to work on fixing the computer.
