Hours later, the group was done looking through the files, including the hard drive that Luz got, claiming that "Skara hacked into the computer and downloaded them". They all got up and stretched.
"Alright, I think it's time we get going." Willow said.
"Yeah, I need to get home, I told my dad I would help him with his latest news story." Gus said.
The two left, which lead to the others looking at each other.
"Put together all the evidence. Skara, get on comms. Have Toxin and Abomination meet Mr. Hardcore on the roof in one hour." Luz said, "We'll discuss this and decide on where to go from there."
Amity, Skara, and Boscha had to admit, Luz may be messed up in more ways than one, but no one could deny, she was a good leader. It made it been more confusing and worrying how Luz didn't want to be on a team. They nodded as Luz walked away. She walked out and got on her motorcycle. She drove away and went back to the Manor to get ready. She was going to need a bit more training to get ready for tonight, ready for anything if that sniper was anything to go by. Luckily, she had around an hour to do that.
'I can't believe I spent all day with my friends at the cafe.' Luz thought before realizing she called them her friends. '…..When was the last time I had friends? 'When was the last time I even said that word?'
Luz hadn't used it in years, not since that night and not since she became Mr. Hardcore. She personally never thought she would or could have friends but maybe, just maybe, she could in Bonesborough. She split off from the highway and down the backroad to the Manor.
'I can worry about my new social life later, right now I need to worry about my night life.' Luz thought, putting her job as Mr. Hardcore as priority right now.
She parked her bike and walked up the steps of the manor. Luz could assume her mothers were worried since she wasn't home all day but she was wrong as her mothers were calmly watching tv in the living room.
"I'm home." Luz said, getting their attention.
"Oh Mija! Did you have a good time with your friends?" Camila asked as they turned to her.
"Yeah." Luz said, "I'm going to get ready for my... night job."
"Be careful and remember what I told you about the healing patches." Lilith said to her.
"I know and I'll bring them with me just in case. Maybe they'll act like an adrenaline shot and help me move quicker too." Luz said and as she headed up to her room. "And they actually could help if I got shot in the leg and needed to keep going."
"Please don't mention that, I don't need any reason to increase my anxiety." Lilith said.
"Sorry." Luz said as she headed up to her room.
"You know I have methods that can help with that." Camila said to Lilith, from experience.
"Oh, I will definitely need to know them."
As the two unofficial mothers discussed ways of dealing with stress and anxiety, Luz had stripped out of her normal clothes before she donned her vigilante suit. Weapons and all. She jumped out the window and made her way back to the Café roof. Hopefully her fellow vigilantes, not a team, would be there waiting for her by now with Skara using a drone. She landed on the roof and saw the familiar yellow and purple vigilantes.
"Sorry if I'm tardy to the party." Mr. Hardcore said as "he" landed before them.
"We weren't waiting long, so don't worry about it." Toxin said with a wave of the hand.
"Now, let's get to the main point." Toxin said, "We know there are three locations around the city that he has a base in. There are three of us, so I recommend we split up and each take one."
"I like it." Mr. Hardcore said, reaching up to his ear, "Skara can you hear us?"
"Affirmative. I've got three drones heading to you now." Skara said over their new coms.
"Three drones?" Abomination asked.
"I can control them and switch between them remotely. And if I need to focus on one, I can have the others hover at a safe distance." Skara said to them.
"That works far better than my... well, we don't need to talk about my starter days." Mr. Hardcore said.
"Was it that bad?" Abomination asked him.
"No comment." Mr. Hardcore said hearing the three drones flying over to them.
"Alright, I have a drone following each of you. I can watch you from outside the buildings, but I'll lose connection if I send them inside." Skara said.
"Well, that seems like a problem." Toxin said.
"Hey, I built two of them today, alright? They aren't finished."
"At least they can fly, that's good enough." Mr. Hardcore said as he turned to the drones. "Let's do this, and once we're done you can put the finishing touches in them."
"Okay." Abomination said, handing each of them a paper, "These each have the location of his base, when we're done, we regroup back here."
"Got it. And let's radio if we find anything." Toxin said as she looked over hers.
"Sounds good to me but don't be mad if I find something and forget to report it." Mr. Hardcore said.
"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised." Toxin said.
"You should still call us in case. You may not think of us like a team, but we are." Abomination said to her.
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that." Mr. Hardcore said before he grappled off to head for the location he was given.
"And that's the girl you get wet for." Boscha whispered to Amity.
"Shut up and focus. Or do I need to remind of what happened the last time Willow came to spend the night with you?" Amity whispered back.
"You're just jealous that I'm getting it while you're bone dry." Boscha said as she began to walk away.
"Your room looked like a Venus fly trap EXPLODED." Amity said.
"Uh, hey, don't know if you realize, but I'm still here." Skara said, "Can you two get going?"
