Luz grunted before she ducked under another punch and slid between his legs!
"You gonna run now?!" He shouted as he turned to Luz, throwing attacks as she was forced to focus on dodging!
No wrist grapplers to help avoid him, no weapons can damage him, and none of her strikes could do a damn thing.
'Maybe if I lead him on, tire him out, maybe that will do something.' Luz thought.
Luz continued to run from the Commander, enraging him to chase her as they left the unconscious mayor in the room. Hopefully something in the warehouse could help her even in the slightest, any form of weapon or projectile. Luz saw a weapons crate and ran for it. She saw a few grenades and knew those were the best bet. She grabbed a couple and removed the pins. She threw them at him and they exploded. It was quiet for a second, which made Luz fall to her knees, exhausted. It wasn't like that for long as Commander, who was untouched by the explosives, grabbed Luz by the neck. He punched her and it sent her to the other side of the room. Luz felt her back hit the wall and she fell to the ground. Commander walked up to her, smirking.
"Well, I have to say, you've gained my respect." He said.
"That... doesn't mean... shit to me." Luz said, before spiting up blood.
"It's time to end this." he said.
He raised hit arm to throw a final punch, when a pair of yellow boots hit him in the face. The impact resulted in him being knocked to the side.
"Great job, Toxin!" Abomination said, "Try and keep him down."
Abomination turned to face Luz.
"You were right, I don't know what you've been through... but you never have to do something alone." Amity said, reaching a hand out, "Ask us, and we'll always be there."
Luz looked at her for a second, thoughts about what might happen if she lets her guard down. She finally knew what she had to do. She grabbed Amity's hand and she helped her up. Boscha was tossed towards them and got up, standing next to Luz as Amity stood on the other side of her. Commander looked at them, annoyed. His mask covered most of his face, but his eyes and mouth were all they needed to know how he felt.
"You think you can beat me?" He asked, "I am stronger than all of you! I am invincible! What are you going to do!?"
"We're going to fight you." Luz said, "... As a team."
"A team? You?! I see you want your friends to share in your pain as well!" Commander said to them.
"No, we won't because you've going to be the one in pain!" Abomination said as her suit shifted and formed a hardened sword in her hand.
"You can handle one of us but let's see how you do against 3." Boscha said as she pulled out her needle and held it like a knife.
Luz pulled out her bat. They all ran at him and attacked. Amity swung her Abomination blade at him, but it did little to hurt him. It distracted him enough for Boscha to jump on him and try and stab him with her needle. He knocked Boscha off and kicked Amity away. Luz swung her bat and hit him in the chin with her bat. The blades and barbed wire did next to nothing to him as he pulled the bat from Luz and hit her with it. It sent her to the other side of the room and a blade punctured a lung. Luz started gasping for air as it got harder to breath.
'Shit!' Luz thought as she held her chest!
Commander charged at her with his arms raised before Abomination moved between them and formed a large hardened shield to block his attack! He didn't stop as he kept hammering the shield as Toxin attacked him from behind!
'Come on! His nerves can't be indestructible!' She thought as she stabbed her needle at his back multiple times, all aiming for his nerves to try and paralyze him. Her needle didn't even pierce his skin. He turned around and grabbed the needle. He broke it in half over his knee, letting the potion inside fall to the ground. He ran at Toxin and shoulder tackled her, knocking her against the wall. Abomination was doing her best to help Mr. Hardcore. She searched every pocket of his jacket for a healing glyph.
"Come on, there has to be one." She said.
"Get the mayor... and get out of here." Luz said.
"I am not leaving you until you're safe!" Amity said.
Amity looked back and saw Toxin using her forearm fins to try and block him.
"There has to be something I could do." Amity said, before realizing, "There is something I can do."
Amity stood up and used one of her pouches to send Abomination goo into Luz's would, and use it to cover the punctured lung. It was a second before Luz sat up and started breathing heavily.
"Holy shit." Luz said, "I never want to do that again."
"Neither do I." Amity said, "Seeing you get hurt... it hurts me. I... I'm tired of hiding this. I... I love you."
"Y-y-you... you do?" Luz asked.
"I... I do, and in case we die, I just wanted you to-"
"Take your helmet off." Luz said.
Amity was confused but took it off. Luz grabbed her and lowered her own mask. She pulled Amity into a kiss, surprising Amity but making her feel happy at the same time.
"Oh, yeah, kiss, not like I'm fighting for my life or anything!" Boscha said.
Her fins were broken, he ripped her wings from her arms, and he had her by the hood. Amity and Luz put their masks back on and ran at him. He threw Boscha at them and they all feel down. Amity got up and ran at him. She jumped and stomped on his chest, backflipping back to the ground. It did nothing and he punched her, completely shattering the glass visor for her helmet and sending her backwards. Boscha caught her as the Commander charged at them before Luz ran to intercept him!
'I can't beat him in strength but I can beat him in technique!' She thought as he threw a punch.
Using both her hands, Luz caught the punch and redirected it before grabbing his wrist to pull up!
Whoa!" The Commander let out before he was thrown to the side wall, crashing back first!
Luz fell to her knee. This was taking so much out of her. Commander got up and started laughing.
"I think it's time to end this." He said.
Luz stood up and put her fists up. Commander ran at Luz and delivered the strongest punch he's ever delivered. Luz was knocked to the ground, unmoving.
"No!" Amity and Boscha said.
"Looks like I finally beat him."
Amity and Boscha charged, filled with anger. While they attacked him, Luz found herself in darkness, before an old memory came up. A small, 8 year old Luz was in bed as her dad read her a bedtime story. He stood up and gave her a kiss on the head, before heading for the door.
"Will I ever be as strong as you, daddy?" Luz asked.
He turned to look at her with a big smiled.
"One day, I believe you'll be stronger than I'll ever be."
"That's impossible, you're the strongest person in the world." Luz said.
"For now." He said, "Always remember, Little One, if you want to be strong, you must never give up. There will be people that depend on you, and by being strong, you will be able to inspire others. But that can only happen if you always keep fighting."
"Don't worry daddy, I'll never give up." Luz said.
"I know, Little One, and that's why I'm glad to be on your team. And that's why I'm always going to be proud of you." He said.
Tears started to fall from Luz's eyes at the memory. Boscha was thrown to the ground, landing and bouncing a few feet. Amity tried to attack from behind, but he turned around and grabbed her by the neck. He threw her next to Boscha and got ready to deliver the final blow. He threw a fist, but it was caught, by Luz.
"Leave. Them. Alone." Luz growled.
She threw his hand away and ran at him, Tackling him with a new burst of strength. Luz started punching him until he pushed her off
"How are you alive!?" He asked, "Where did this energy come from?!"
Luz looked at him, even through the glasses, you could see pure rage in her eyes.
"I was once told, that in order to be strong, you should never give up." Luz said, "If I can get up against all odds, I can inspire others. You know who told me that? The strongest man I've ever had the privilege of knowing. The person that helped me become who I am today."
Luz ran at him and punched him, making him stumble back.
"He never gave up, he proved that even simple humans can do incredible things." Luz said, "That man, was my hero. That man... was my father!"
He tried to slam her fists on her, but she caught them.
'I'm going to let you down, dad.' Luz thought.
She threw his fists off and ran at him. She threw punches at his stomach, making him hunch over. Luz threw an uppercut, before putting on her brass knuckles. She started hitting him in the head, not stopping until she saw blood. Boscha and Amity started to get up and saw Luz.
"S-s-she's alive." Boscha said.
Amity felt her heart skip a beat, she was truly afraid Luz died.
"It's time we end this." Amity said.
Boscha nodded to Amity as she drew a spell circle, summoning a new needle as Amity created spike Ed gauntlets on her arms. They charged at Commander, ready to show what happens when you mess with them. They managed to time it so that their strikes hit right as Luz hit him. He was sent back and hit the wall. He just laughed.
"After everything you've done, I still am standing." He said.
"Well, I think it's safe to say... we'll fight until we're dead." Luz said.
"That's what a team does." Amity said.
"We've got each other's backs, no matter what." Boscha said as they got ready to end this.
"Cute but that won't do you much good in the grave!" The Commander shouted as grabbed the ground and pulled out a huge chunk of rock!
He threw it and they all dodged. They ran at him and gave their best. Amity used Abominations, Boscha threw potions, and Luz charged at him with a knife. Luz swung up with the knife, but Commander dodged. Luz did managed to cut his shirt off though. Amity and Boscha looked and saw why he was so strong.
"He has power glyphs!" Boscha said.
"Power what?" Luz asked as they started at his chest, seeing it covered in patches with brown fists in them.
"Power glyphs are used by construction witches to help them build. They increase their strength and magic power by 3-fold without any side effects, think of them like risk free steroids." Amity answered.
"So, the man that hates witches... is using magic?" Luz said, "Girls, aim for the glyphs."
"With pleasure." Boscha said with a smirk as she prepared a fire spell.
"Gladly." Amity said as she did the same.
"Well, I can't do that, but I can still have a little fun." Luz said, pulling out her gun, "Let's see how well I can shoot them."
The trio began firing at Commander as he raised his arms to block their attacks but they slipped past his arms destroyed the glyphs on his body! He could feel his strength and indestructibility fading as he kept getting his and burned by the bullets/fireballs. Luz lowered her gun and put her fist up, signaling them to stop. The fire stops and they walk to corner him.
"How's it feel being weak?" Luz asked.
Looking over himself, the Commander only no power glyphs left as he was covering scotch marks.
"You think that this s gonna stop me!? I can still kill you bitches!" He screamed at them.
"And how can you do that? You just lost your ace in the hole." Luz said to him.
"Yes, because it does everything I need." He said, "Like killing you."
"Shame." Luz said, charging at him.
Commander threw a punch but it was caught as Luz pulled him to trip him up and lariat him to the ground!
"It would've been a much sweeter victory if you had more skills." Luz said to him.
Luz put a foot on his chest and held him down.
"Here's what I'm going to do." Luz said, putting her brass knuckles back on, "I'm going to kill you, but I'm going to take my sweet ass time doing it."
Luz moved her foot away and pulled him up, pushing him back as he stumbled while she put her fists up.
"Come on, show me what you got." Luz said to him.
He ran at her, and she dodged, hitting him in the side, breaking one of his ribs, before punching the back of his head. Commander almost hit the ground again, but Luz pulled him back up and made him stand straight. She wasn't going to let him fall until he was bloody and brutally beaten. Just like how he left her. She started punching his stomach, her brass knuckles making dark bruises on his stomach as he started coughing up blood. He didn't give up as he pushed Luz away before punched her in the face but she didn't move.
"Hmm, not bad. You have some natural strength behind you." She said as she pushed his fist away and kicked him in the chest, sending him back, "But not nearly as much as I do."
She picked her bat off the ground and tightened her grip on it. She ran at him and slammed the bat into the side of his head. He was knocked down and Luz proceeded to beat him with it. Boscha looked at Amity.
"Should... should we stop him?"
"No. He needs this." Amity said.
"Come on, let's go get the mayor untied."
The two went to focus on the mayor, while Luz switched from her bat to her brass knuckles, not wanting him to die by her bat, but by her hands. At this point, he was more of a blood covered pulp. Luz stood up and looked at him, before pulling out her gun and firing six times, unloading all twelve bullets into what was ever left of his head. Luz just stared at him.
"It's over."
