Forgiven sin
Aya looked at Ran's grave. She placed the earrings he had gotten her for her 16th birthday, on top of the tombstone. She knelt down and looked at the letterings. She traced them with her finger.
She remember what Yohji, Ken and Omi had told her; about them being assassins and Ran taking her name to get revenge for what Taketori did to her and her family. They told her that Ran bloodied her name and then couldn't bear the task on telling her.
"Ran you know I would have forgiven you for what you did," she said to herself. "You were my brother. I loved you, I still do. You didn't have to kill yourself thinking that it was the only way for your sin to be forgiven. If only you would have come to me and told me."
Aya put her hands to her face and began to cry. She felt so alone. Sure Omi was back at the house and was the perfect boyfriend any girl could ask for, but she still felt alone. All of her family was dead now. But she remembered something all the guys had said to her.
"You can consider us family if you want," they had told her. She was lucky to have them, all of them, but it still didn't feel complete.
Aya stood up after a few minutes. Her tears stopped coming and took a few steps back.
"I will not cry, Ran," she said. "If you wanted to die then there was nothing I would have done to stop you. You are in a better place now. I have to go on with my life. I have Omi now. I will stop by every so often and tell you how everyone is doing. Ken has a daughter named Sarah and Yohji is going to have a child."
Aya turned and started to walk away, then stopped and looked back. She smiled a little.
"And Ran," she began. "I forgive you."
