Guardian Angel
A sweet young angel,
My true best friend,
Like a gift from the heavens,
With me till the very end.
You were my protector,
Always watching out for me,
When evil approached,
You were my savior.
But as the days wore on,
That protection turned to love,
You acted fierce on the outside,
Yet inside you were gently as a dove.
Everything I know,
We learned together,
And you promised,
It'd be that way forever.
You would sacrifice so much,
In Friendship's name,
I want you to know,
That I would do the same.
Sometimes your eyes seemed so sad,
Like you wanted to cry into the night,
Then I'd sit next to you,
And hold you tight.
I hope you know,
That I will always be there for you,
And no matter what happens,
Together we can get through.
Remember when you spoke,
Those three fateful words,
Looked at me through golden blonde locks,
Blue eyes bright.
At first I didn't know what to say,
But deep in my heart I knew,
That I never wanted,
To be apart from you.
I fell into your arms,
And you held me tight,
We stood together,
In love's warm light.
