Rune magic requires strict procedures to activate them. First, you must carve the runic symbols onto the medium, of course, they must not be written at random. They must follow a pattern, with no conflicts. The slightest of errors in these patterns would result in a backlash of energy, which depending on the size or intensity of the rune, could be devastating. The medium must also be of a certain sturdiness, otherwise, it might be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of magic passing through it. The more complex the pattern, the better the medium has to be. The process is long and intricate. So they must be prepared beforehand if they were to be used in combat. Even in his old realm, that was how runes were used.

But Link had developed the method for it to be quick and efficient in battle. By utilising a special type of mana control, he could create the rune pattern immediately. He would create the runic pattern through his magic, which takes shape with a thought. They would have the same effects as a carved rune, however, the drawback is that it may only be used once or for a short period of time, it would need to be reapplied for it to be used a second time.

Needless to say, only those that were very well versed in the subject and possess an almost inhumane amount of control over their own magic could utilise such a method. Even other Legendary mages might not necessarily be able to duplicate this method. Only Link could pass down this method. Or at least it would take a considerable amount of time to replicate the process.

To be prepared for the task he is about to undertake, he would need to utilise his knowledge in runes and enchantment to create a few tools that may be of some help. He couldn't do too many, or too powerful. As for one, he didn't have the time, nor did have the materials needed for a good medium. So he stuck for the little practical ones that many might underestimate, but correct usage would prove very effective. He was able to create 5 such pieces in 30 minutes.

Link made his way to the third-floor corridor. Although he told Rose to meet him here in 3 hours, he didn't think she should experience such a thing at a young age. It is best if she were to remain innocent in the ways of this dark world.

Though, if he were honest, she does not have the capabilities yet. She is a level-1 mage after all. Which is awe-inducing in one so young, when all her classmates have yet to cross that threshold from level-0 to level-1. However, level-1 is not enough for what they were about to face. A level-5 teacher bent on being ruthless. Quirrell may have portrayed the image of a coward with little skill, Link knew the truth. Quirrell was the one that hunted down unicorns. Quirrell was the one that was able to navigate the forbidden forest almost unhindered, even when the school was actively looking for 'him', the creature hunting these unicorns. Quirrell was skilled, was at level-5, and is determined.

When he reached the door that, according to Rose, kept Cerberus back, he felt a tug at his clothes.

'*Sigh* Should have known…' He turned around to face… Nothing.

Rose felt uneasy. For some reason as soon as she got to her dorm room she felt restless. She didn't know why, but she has a hunch it has something to do with Link. Before she could ponder anymore, she was interrupted by her dorm mates.

"Hey, Rose, what's up? You look nervous"

Lavender and Parvarti. They were nice girls, for the most part. She spent some time in their company when she wasn't with Link or the other boys. The only issue she had with them was that they liked to gossip a lot. It reminded her of her Aunt Petunia, who spends the majority of her time searching for the next juicy piece to spread around. Although she knows these two don't do through any maliciousness, nor a sense of superiority, Rose still feels uneasy with such talks. Their conversations are therefore scarce, but pleasant nonetheless. She tries to direct their talks away from tales and rumours.

"Is it about Link? Did he confess? Did you hold hands?"

Another thing she didn't particularly enjoy about the two is their wild imagination and their penchant for romantic speculations.

"What? No, we did no such thing" Rose blushed a little at that. It's embarrassing that they would say that. Why would they even hold hands? "It's just I have a feeling that something is about to happen, and Link would leave me out of it"

"Oh? How fun. Is there a second girl?" That was Parvarti.

"What no? It has nothing to do with Link and I"

"Oh, you aren't fun" pouted Lavender.

"Why are we even talking about this?"

"Whatever, if you have a suspicion you should act on it…"

"Yeah, Lavender is right, it's called woman's intuition"

"Right right. We have a sixth sense for these things"

"How do you know?" Rose was confused, how did they even know these things, they weren't much older than me.

"My mom told me. Said I'd understand when I'm older"

"Oh" Would she have had similar talks with her parents? She would like to think so.

'Focus! Focus!' She shook her head, hoping to clear her head to concentrate on the moment. Someone is going after the stone. They might be or at least work for Voldemort. They might have left already. But Link said he would meet me there in 3 hours. But that might be too late. If I thought of that, then Link surely must have as well. Then Why? Is that why I feel anxious? Does it have to do with this? Is Link going there alone?

With that last thought, Rose felt a breath of cold air creeping up her spine. She quickly grabbed her Invisibility Cloak, something she forgot to tell Link about, and snuck out of the dorms. She quickly made her way to the third-floor corridor.

'Did he go down already? How can I be sure? The door seems closed, but he would close it after him. What should I do?' She was building herself into a frenzy. Thankfully she didn't have to agonise for too long. 5 minutes later she heard footsteps.

Dreading that it might be a Professor or Filch, She made her way to the wall, so as to not be in their way. She quickly discovered that it wasn't a Professor, but Link. 'He really did come here without me' She felt a slight bit of anger at this.

She quietly made her way towards him and tugged at his sleeve.

He spun around as though ready for a fight. She saw his expression morph into surprise and confusion. She saw him look around, unsure of what happened. 'Oh, I'm still invisible'

She quickly took off the cloak, appearing before the shocked Ravenclaw's face. It would have been amusing had she not been angry at him.

"Rose… what are you doing here? Also, what is that?"

"What am I doing here? No, what are YOU doing here? You came here early. I thought you were going down in 3 hours time? Were you going to leave me behind?" She was getting worked up. Why would he come here alone? Why would he want to? Why did he lie? As strong as she likes to make herself be, years of neglect and emotional abuse made her very sensitive to these things.

"Yes I did, and I was"

"...what?" That short reply removed the winds from her sails. She deflated, and her argument was shot. What was she to do when he admitted to the deed so readily and openly.

"I was going to leave you behind…"

"But why? I thought we were supposed to be a team. Why would you abandon me?" She had faint traces of tears forming in her eyes. She was feeling hurt. She didn't want to be alone, she didn't want to be abandoned by her friend, her best friend.

"I am not abandoning you, Rose. I merely wished to not expose you to any bad things tonight. I did not want you to get hurt. I thought by doing this alone, I could spare you the hardship"

While what he said was touching, she was irritated by a whole new cause now.

"So, I'm useless. Is that what you are saying?"

"What no? How did you get that?" Link was confused, he can't remember saying something like that. How did she jump to that conclusion? It is quite the contrary, in fact, he believes she has a massive amount of potential to at least be as powerful as Dumbledore in the future. So how did she imagine that he would call her useless?

"Of course you do. You think I'm useless. That's why you aren't bringing me along. You think you could do it better without me. Admit it"

"That's not true. I never said you were useless. I just didn't want you to suffer any hardship" It is a little true that he could do better alone, but that is only because he could use more spells and power than he would show when she is around. Nothing to do with her capacity as a mage.

"There you go again, thinking I'm fragile. I'm not fragile, I can handle anything you can. I'm going in with you and that's final" She crossed her arms and humphed. She was going to prove to him that she is good. That she could stand by him as his equal. That they don't need to be separate from each other. She didn't want to lose him as her friend.

"..." Link was speechless at first. That was the first time he felt so confused. How did this happen? "Fine, you can come"

"YES! Let's GO!" She was beaming now, further confusing the boy genius. She followed no rational thought as far as he could discern.

'Whatever, Let's get this over with'

"Here take this before we go any further" with that he gave her a bracelet. It was beautiful. It depicted a phoenix as the centre-piece, with the wings joining around to form the bracelet. The accessory was one of the items he enchanted in his room not too long ago.

"What's this?" It did look pretty.

"A bracelet I made. Wear it, It'll protect you"

"How?"

"It's enchanted to erect a barrier in front of you so you won't get hurt. But it can only be used once, so be careful"

"...Thank you" she hates when he does that. She was angry at him, then he showed his protective friend side and she can't stay angry anymore.

Just outside the door, Rose and Link could hear a faint sound of music playing. This just reaffirmed their suspicion that there really was someone that went after the stone.

"We have to be quiet, and not let the music stop. That should be the only way Fluffy will stay asleep" said Rose, some fear creeping into her voice. She had a bad experience with big magical creatures (The Troll) and dogs (Ripper).

"Right. Let's go"

They opened the door slowly, hoping to make as little sound as possible. Though they had underestimated their opponent. Quirrel may have been a mediocre wizard by Link's standard, but it seems he was of a cunning sort. Or at least, he has someone with him that is cunning.

For as soon as they had entered the room, the music stopped playing. The sudden lull into silence brought the sleeping Cereberus back to the land of the living. The giant three-headed dog smelled them before he saw them. Prompting a low, deep growl to erupt from his throat. A single growl from a big dog is intimidating enough, but three is a whole new level of intensity. Add to that the three barks and the threat-level went up another notch.

Rose froze at that. Eyes wide as she saw the massive dog. It's three sets of teeth pointing straight at her. Sharp enough to pierce steel. The sheer size of the beast is enough to force a strong man to be crushed by the weight alone. Let alone two eleven-year-olds.

Link was as calm as can be. He had faced far worse than a dog before. He has been fighting demons and beasts since he was first able to use magic. Even if he were not a match for them in terms of raw power, his accurate judgment, calculation speed and magic variety allowed him to stay a step ahead of his opponents at all times.

Carefully observing his surroundings, he took note of all the little details. Fluffy was chained to the wall, the chains just long enough to reach the door. The lighting was a little on the dark side, which would give an aura of eeriness with the dog as the focal point. He saw the trap door right by Fluffy's right paw. A plate, filled with bones and meat, by its left-hind leg. The harp to the side that had stopped working.

Focusing on the musical instrument, he noticed the runes inscribed on the item. It seems it could play a tune on its own as long as one supplied an initial amount of magic in the beginning. The harp would continue playing as long as the instruction was not given for it to stop. It absorbs the ambient magic present in the air. To turn it off, similar to turning it on, all it needs is a bit of magic to the rune to stop absorbing the magic.

Quirrell had placed a dual spell, linked to the door. It was ingenious, as soon as the door was opened, the spell would trigger sending a kill switch to the harp forcing it to stop playing. The Cereberus waking up would be irritated that it was forced to sleep and would attack as soon as it woke up. With the unsuspecting 'intruder' being surprised by the sudden attack of the massive creature, maying even falling victim to a fatal strike from the dog.

That being said, with a quick twirl of his wand, Link was instantly able to reanimate the Harp into playing again.

It may have taken a while to describe, but all this happened within a few seconds. From the moment they entered till the moment the Harp started playing again, only 8 seconds had passed.

With the music once more filling the air, Fluffy was slowly put back to sleep.

Rose heaved a sigh of relief. She's glad that's over with.

"Alright let's go"

"Go where?"

"Over there by his paw" he said pointing in the direction of the trap door.

"How did you see that?"

"How did you not?"

"Sorry, I was just a bit distracted by the massive Cerberus in front of me"

"Anyway, I'll go down first, I'll tell you when to jump"

"Alright… You won't leave me up here will you?"

"No, I won't I promise"

With that Link jumped down the trap door. He landed on something soft, which was weird considering the time he spent falling the height should be at least a few meters, like 3. He should have felt that impact. At least a little.

Taking a closer look, he realised why. He was on a plant. Devil's snare to be exact. A simple way to counter it should be the use of fire. Well, let Rose jump down so she lands on something soft first. Then he would cast the spell.

"It's alright you can jump, it's a soft landing"

"Alright, here I come"

As soon as Rose landed, Link cast a very weak fire spell just enough to counter the plant, letting the duo to land on the ground. They dusted their clothes and made their way down the corridor.

They soon came to a vast room. It was massive, at least a quarter the size of a quidditch pitch, almost a third. There were countless keys flying about, flitting about in a seemingly random manner. There was a very narrow path in the middle, a bridge really as there was a drop on either side of the path. The entire room resembled the inside of a sphere or a cube, they couldn't really see the edges clearly. It was lit pretty decently in the middle, but it became darker the farther away from the path they went. At the end of the bridge was a big double door, with a few brooms by the side.

Link took the first step afraid it was a trap. However, his fears were proven unnecessary as nothing happened. After reaching the other side of the narrow path he turned and asked Rose, who had stayed back, to come over. They inspected the door. It was locked, of course, and the 'Alohomora' spell was ineffective against it. Looking at the lock, Link determined that the key should be one of those old types.

Meanwhile, Rose was looking around hoping to figure out a way to help. Then she noticed it.

"Hey, Link, that key over there. Its wing seems a little off, like someone grabbed it wrong. It also looks old compared to the other ones. That must be the one we need."

"Great observation Rose. Now, how to get it?"

"Well, there is a broom there, I could fly to get it"

"...well, alright then. Be careful"

Grinning, Rose was quite smug. Walking towards the broom she couldn't help but boast.

"Heh, and you wanted to come without me. You would be stuck here if I didn't come"

*Sigh*

Link couldn't help it. Although he wouldn't have ridden the broom. It wouldn't be too difficult to grab the key, had he been alone. But she seemed happy to finally contribute. He can't take that away from her. 'Oh well, let her have it'

"You're right. Now please, get the key"

Still grinning, Rose took the broom and took off.

As soon as she was in the air, the trap was triggered. All the keys, except the one she wanted, came flying towards her at breakneck speed. Startled, she started flying on instinct. Dodging the keys, left, right, up, down. Rose proved her worth as a flying prodigy by being able to break away from the keys, letting them form a line to follow her, while she went after the key.

A few minutes later, she was able to grab the key and threw it to Link, who immediately used the key to open the door for her to fly through.

You might be thinking why Link did not help her. Well, the reason is simple. She was handling it fine on her own, he saw no reason to interfere. Though he was ready to assist the moment things became difficult.

Somewhere an hour away from London.

"I wonder why I was summoned today. I don't remember there being any important issues the Wizengamot have to discuss. Also, why was I asked to come by broom..."

*Sigh*

"I was tricked, wasn't I? To think I would be had by something so simplistic"

Dumbledore was shaking his head with a facepalm.

He couldn't believe he fell for that. Even with Fudge as the Minister for Magic, he still follows regulation. Most of the time, at least.

"Welp, back we go"

(A/N: I know that Dumbledore is manipulative, even in Canon. But I really didn't want to go down that road. So in this fic, Dumbledore is a good-natured, amiable guy, and Naive. His political positions were given to him as a sign of respect to his accomplishments, and not his political acumen. Traditional Gryffindor basically.)

"Huff...huff… see, piece of cake"

"Uh-huh, whatever you say"

"I'm serious"

"So am I"

"Don't be jealous you can't fly like I can"

"I'm not"

It's these little moments that Link cherished the most. He had very little friends in his previous life. They were also in the middle of a war. So he never had the time nor the leisure to have such light-hearted banter.

It truly is a blessed life to live in times of peace. In times with less discrimination. It is freeing. One might not know what he missed out on until they try it.

Once they, read Rose, recuperated their breath, they took in their surroundings, again read Rose.

This chamber was also massive, though smaller than the previous one. However, it exuded a sense of elegance rarely seen in castles. This place would not be deemed out of place in the Royal castle. It had extravagance, it had beauty, it had simplicity. It was a true room fit for nobility.

Right in the middle of the room was a Chess set. Though like most things they've encountered so far, the Chess set was enlarged exponentially, to the point where the pawn is as tall as Link.

In awe of the scenery, they made their way towards the centre. The only other door, besides the one they entered from, was at the other side of the chess set.

It was as they were attempting to cross the board that the pieces came to life. Black and White pieces joined together to block the duo from crossing. As alarming as the situation might have been, Link came up with the reason fairly quickly.

"So, we have to win the game to pass?"

The previously inanimate objects nodded at that.

'Who came up with this fairly simple obstacle course?' (Somewhere still on a broom, Dumbledore sneezed).

Taking place as part of the white piece, Link made Rose the King (As that would be placed in the least amount of trouble, considering this should be similar to wizarding chess, where the pieces get destroyed), Link took his part as the queen (Again, the second safest option).

So the game began.

At first, Link started with a standard Napoleon opening. To view the difficulty level of his opponent. When the magic proved adept enough to counter the move, Link became much more invested.

He began improvising, countering, strategising a new plan with every move. It was a back and forth, that while not at the Grand-master level was still at a rather high calibre. After ten minutes, they were at an impasse. After careful scrutinisation, Link found a way to end the game in 8 moves. He would have to sacrifice the queen to accomplish the checkmate. Rose might panic.

"Rose, I can win the game in 8 moves"

"That's great"

"Only I have to sacrifice the queen in the 6th move"

"What? No! Choose another way"

"We can't we'd lose in the 9th move if we don't enact the plan"

"But.."

"Don't worry I can handle it. I just need you to not move until checkmate. You can't move, or we will lose. Alright?"

"...Alright. But you better be okay"

"I will; don't worry"

The game went on, and as predicted Link sacrificed himself in the 6th move. It was horrible for Rose to see her friend about to be beaten by the stone piece, she almost screamed. Thankfully, right before the blow landed a shield erected itself protecting him from any damage. It was from the bracelet he enchanted. Though he was still escorted out of the board. Reminding her to stay in place, Link was able to convey the next 2 moves needed for the win.

Indeed checkmate was at the last move. The opposing King dropped his sword in defeat. Grateful, Rose ran towards Link engulfing him in a tight hug, all the while scolding him for such a reckless plan.

"It's alright, nothing happened. So don't worry about it." Were his consoling words as he hugged her back.

After a minute, the duo made their way to the next room.

The smell hit them long before they got a visual. It looked as bad as it smells. There were about four Trolls, all approximately the same size as the one they encountered on Halloween. One had his chest gouged, one was mangled up as though it was a piece of paper, one had its head removed (With the blood splatter it was most likely exploded), the last one, strangely enough, had no visible reason as to why it had died. It just seems to have dropped as though it fainted, however, it was clearly dead.

It was the goriest scene Rose had ever seen. She tried to control her breathing so as to not vomit. A hand on her mouth, her eyes wide in horror. Although she didn't care much for trolls, their death displayed the ease in which their opponent dispatched them. Putting into perspective the reality of their situation. They, two first years, were about to face a fully grown and experienced adult. The difficulty just rose another notch. Though she still didn't back down. Even if she were to die, she will make sure that Voldemort does not rise again.

Link on the other hand, though in a child's body, was an adult war veteran. He had seen a scene much worse than what was displayed. Hell, he caused a slaughter of a much grander stage. He had slaughtered countless beings, demons and dark elves alike, for the sake of peace in the future. For the people within the Kingdom he protected, for humanity and their allies. He probably exterminated the entirety of the Dark Elves race, or at least would have, had he stayed in Firumen.

Grabbing her hand to anchor her to the present, Link guided Rose away from the scene towards the next room, he would console her when the gory scene before them was no longer within their immediate vicinity.

Rose followed him numbly.

"Are you alright?" His words seemed to have woke her from her shock.

"Y-Yeah, give me a second" Taking a deep breath, Rose regained her composure. Impressive for someone so young to have such a strong mental will.

Finally taking notice of the room around them, it was a bit underwhelming. Compared to the grandiose feeling the previous rooms gave, this one seemed a bit more spartan. Nothing present but a table with vials in the middle. The two doorways were wide open, nothing to obstruct their movement. Or so they thought. The moment the duo took a step forward, fire erupted blocking the two doorways. Though what was even more impressive was the fact that these flames were far from ordinary. Aside from the lack of heat, their colours were abnormal as well. The one behind them was white, the one ahead of them was black. How a flame could attain such colours aside (Magic, obviously), the table which was still in its place came to life. It seems to be glowing, or maybe it was their imagination. However, it attracted their attention all the same.

They came across a piece of parchment which contained these words:

"

Danger lies before you, while safety lies behind,

Two of us will help you, whichever you would find,

One among us seven will let you move ahead,

Another will transport the drinker back instead,

Two among our number hold only nettle wine,

Three of us are killers, waiting hidden in line.

Choose, unless you wish to stay here for evermore,

To help you in your choice, we give you these clues four:

First, however slyly the poison tries to hide

You will always find some on nettle wine's left side;

Second, different are those who stand at either end,

But if you would move onwards, neither is your friend;

Third, as you see clearly, all are different size,

Neither dwarf nor giant holds death in their insides;

Fourth, the second left and the second on the right

Are twins once you taste them, though different at first sight.

"

(A/N: Excerpt extracted from Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone)

Rose found the riddle to be difficult. She read it twice, but she was no closer to solving it. It made sense, she was sure, should she be given time in a calm environment she would be able to resolve the puzzle. However, she was not int the best of mental states. The stress of the situation, the morbid scene from the previous room, the scene where a chess piece hit Link, all of this ensure that her head was in a daze. Unable to fully concentrate, making the entire riddle more difficult than it really is. She looked to Link hoping he already knew the answer. Which of course, he did.

Link was instantly able to resolve the puzzle, it almost made him chuckle. Truly, for the illogical world of magic, logic puzzles are most difficult. At least they would be for the common mage that does not integrate the logical method of the world around them, After all the peak of Magic, Level-10, that utilises the Laws of the realm must follow the logic of the Laws. Therefore to truly thrive as a mage, science, math and Logic would allow you to reach the peak. Of course, a certain amount of creativity and illogical thought would allow you to become unpredictable and efficient in battle. Therefore, it all comes down to the balance of logical and illogical.

"Alright, let me explain the thought process. You must be able to solve riddles to have a flexible mind. Since the giant bottle is not poison and it is a twin to the second from the left, we know these two are nettle wine (2nd and 6th). Therefore, two of the poisons are to the left of these (1st and 5th). The ones at each end are different and since we know the left end is poison, both nettle wines have been found, and it will not help you move onwards, the rightmost bottle sends you back (7th). This leaves 2 bottles and we know the dwarf is not poison, so it must be the one to move ahead (3rd). Finally, the remaining bottle must be the third poison (4th). You got it?"

"Yeah, I did… so is it this to go forward?" She was pointing towards the 3rd bottle.

"Yes it is, I'll take that one. You take the 7th one, go back. Try to see if you can get a professor here to help"

As soon as he was done talking, Rose barreled towards his chest. Clutching it as tightly as she can, she looked him straight in the eyes as she spoke.

"Don't go, let's just wait here for a bit. I'm sure Dumbledore would come here soon. He can take care of this. Let's just wait"

"Rose… You know we can't do that"

"But"

"You know if they get the stone, Voldemort is as good as alive"

"I know, but…"

"Trust me... I will come back alive"

"..."

She let him go, reluctantly. Still locked in their gazes, she took the 7th potion.

"Alright, but you better come back alive. Don't die. I'll be back with the professors as soon as I can"

"Don't worry. I'll see you in a bit Rose" Taking the 3rd potion, he smiled at her. He walked towards the black flames calmly, as this was but another casual stroll around the castle.

Gritting her teeth, Rose turned around and ran back the way she came, hoping to get a professor as fast as she could.

Mumbling was the first thing he registered as soon as he made it through the flames.

"I don't understand. I see myself holding the stone, I see myself presenting it to my master. But why can't I feel it? Why can't I get it? Where is it? Where is it? Should I destroy the mirror? Would that help?"

Looking around, the room is reminiscent of the previous two rooms in its grandiosity. It was as big as the Chess Room. Around the periphery were giant pillars similar to those in ancient Greece or Rome. It was a beautiful addition to the room, giving it that ancient, yet powerful vibe. In the centre of this temple, as that is what it portrayed, was a mirror oddly enough. Though given the ramblings of the man standing before said mirror, it could be deduced that it was the same mirror Rose described in her letters. The man mentioned seeing what would happen in the future, it is obviously the man's desire, so corrupted he had been that his innermost desire is to help his master.

Observing the surrounding for a full 30 seconds, Link finally made himself known.

"Well, Professor, how is it? Still couldn't find the stone?"

Startled, the man whirled around wand at the ready, only to come face to face with a student, a first-year at that.

"What-? Nevermind. Link was it?"

"I am"

"How do you know of the stone?"

"I figured it out"

"I see, well, did you expect me? P-Poor S-Stuttering, Professor Quirell to be the one to…"

"Yes I did, you were a suspect since October"

"Wha-? Why was I a suspect? I played my role perfectly. I should have been the last one to be suspected. How can a mere first-year figure something like this out?"

"Indeed, you played a role. There were inconsistencies, too many to name, but the main one is that I can feel darkness in you"

"How does that make sense? That is the most nonsensical…"

"Silence you fool!"

"Master... I.."

"I said Keep quiet Quirrell"

"Yes, Master"

Link just stood by and was watching the by-play with some amusement. He had intentionally mentioned his aura sensing as it is something only Level-8 mages could learn. It was said that Voldemort was incredibly powerful, so he assumed that he was a level-8 mage. As there were a few level-7 mages in the UK, he wouldn't have been that feared had he been only marginally stronger than his peers. Turns out his bait worked.

"Child, you already know how to sense aura?"

"Aura? Is that what it is? I could always sense this 'aura'. Ever since I was really young"

What he said is technically the truth, he was born able in this life after all. The true reason for this little deception was two-pronged. First, He can't very well explain he was a reincarnated being. The second is that if Voldemort were to think that Link had a method of obtaining such an ability through a ritual or a book he has hidden, the dark lord would start searching for something that doesn't exist, targeting people close to Link to force the method out of him. Finally, an inborn ability is both easier to explain and a hint of hidden potential.

"I see… Quirrell, capture that child. Make sure you bring him Alive, we could also use him to get the stone"

"Yes, Master!"

"Do you think you are able to? With your talent?"

A/N: Sorry for the late chapter. Hope you enjoyed it. I wanted to have a part of the fight here, but the chapter just kept getting longer. So the fight will be the next chapter.
