~*Goodbye Doesn't Mean Forever*~
By: Sparkling Crystal
A cold light autumn breeze blew across the empty playground. Rusted leaves gently lift off from the floor, but unsuccessfully to fly, drop down again onto the side. The orange and red clouds floated slowly over the bright sky without any meaning. Few birds flew silently across the vast sky, returning to their safe homes for the night.
Sakura looked down at her Tomoyo-designed shoes as she rocked gently back and forth on the swing.
Back, and forth......back, and forth......
Her eyes were damp and they lost the energetic touch that they always had.
The swings went back, and forth......back, and forth......
"Today I told Yukito about my feelings..."
"......"
"He asked me...if the feelings that I had for him were very similar to the feelings I have for my dad..."
"And then I really compared it...I did...and he was right, they were really similar...but-but there was still a slight difference! The feelings I have for Yukito and my dad!"
"......"
"I'm sorry..."
"It's okay, I understand."
A glistening tear dropped out of her tear-filled eyes and onto the rough dirt.
Her cold hands grasped tightly onto the rusted chains of the swings, a feeling of emptiness swept over her.
Hong Kong's a far away place......you're not sure if you'll ever see him again......in your whole life...and when you die of old age...will you still remember.......
......this Syaoran Li?
"I can't see the bottom of this huge pit..."
"I can't believe one could move this giant penguin!!"
"I'll go down and see. Key of the Star, by our contract I Sakura command thee to RELEASE! FLY!!"
"Wait, it might be dangerous!"
"Don't worry, I have it under control!"
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!"
"SAKURA-!!!"
Sakura's head fell down.
Her tears turned into sobs.
Syaoran's image flashed through her mind non-stoppingly.
"Nani...flying penguins..."
"Are you okay, Sakura?"
"Yes, I'm fine."
"That's good, you did a good job."
"....arigatou."
A figure came from the back, and sat himself down onto the swing beside her. Sakura didn't lift her head. She knew who it was.
"Don't cry, Sakura."
A masculine hand held out a blue handkerchief.
Sakura looked up with her welled-up eyes.
Syaoran was sitting emptily on the other swing, his right hand holding out the blue handkerchief. He was wearing a green scarf...the green scarf.
Sakura bursted into tears.
"Sakura, no matter where I am, what I'm doing, who I'm with...I'll always love you......forever..."
Sakura couldn't stop crying.
......
Next day, the swing set swings by itself, no longer with anyone on it.
Its shadow following its movement.
So ever lonely in the brisk autumn air.
Back, and forth......back, and forth......

~*ARTHUR'S NOTE*~
This short story was written for/dedicated to my friend who's moving to the US. I'd really miss her and I hope she'll be happy there. I'm not crying to death but I feel like writing this story, and no, I'm not evil just because my friend's leaving means I have to force S&S to split too. ^^;;
Goodbye doesn't mean forever.
