Willow sat in her room, her and Tara's room, wearing her sheer nightgown
and brushing her silky hair. It was morning, a new day. It had been 6
months since Willow had used magic of any kind, even when really bad
situations had cropped up. In high school Willow hadn't been anything
special, she was Buffy's nerd sidekick, but then magic had come into her
life and she became more powerful than anyone could imagine. Then she'd met
Tara, beautiful, shy Tara. Everything changed in that one moment when their
two powers united to force that vending machine against the door stopping
'The Gentlemen' from getting in. Neither could speak but in that moment
there were no words to explain it anyway. Now Willow was just that same
nerd from high school, sure she was older, had better fashion sense but
really had anything changed?
"What are you thinking about sweetie?" Tara asked in her usual melodic voice.
"I don't know how to explain it really. I just feel kind of useless. I mean without magic I'm just the same nerd I was in High school." Willow tried to explain.
Tara's eyes narrowed. "No I didn't mean that I missed magic I just miss the feeling of being special and helpful." Willow continued.
"Will you are special. You are the only person who's ever loved me so much and made ME feel special and wanted. I love you so much that every time I look at you I can't help but smile. We're both part of something special, we're part of each other. Separate we're nothing special but together nothing can overcome us." Tara stated vehemently.
Willow's mouth lifted in a sideways smile and her eyes shone with tears yet to be shed as she stared at Tara. The love she felt for her exuded from her very soul.
"God Tara I love you. You're right I am special, because you make me feel that way." Willow said as she stood and walked towards Tara. She touched her cheek with the back of her hand as she watched Tara close her eyes. She kissed Tara's full lips gently almost as if she would disappear. The kiss lingered until Willow finally pulled away. This time the tears were running down her cheeks as she sniffed and smiled.
"Come here, don't cry." Tara whispered as she pulled Willow into her warm embrace. Everything was right in the world and both of them felt it. Everything they needed was in their hands at that moment. Love.
