Author's Note: This is a sonnet written for my twelfth grade AP English final. It is not entirely my own, however, as I did write this with a partner. Our assignment was to present some conflict with the first segment of the sonnet, and to resolve it within the final one. Anyway, here it is, and feedback is always appreciated.

Archiving/Usage: Sure, just let me know first.

~More Beyond~

Forlorn we seek the comfort of our vice,

Sin's siren song effects our virtue's plight.

Our souls a tragic, fated sacrifice,

We fail to seek a pure and Christian light.

Deprived of salvation's forgiving grace,

Adrift through life, sin's blinded victim: lost.

Unselfish reverence never to embrace,

The sinner stumbles, redemption the cost.

True hope, once gone, can be eas'ly regained,

To God we can turn, by faith alone we're saved.

In faith and hope our virtue is sustained,

Rewarded Heaven for evils we've braved.

In Jesus lay the hopes for all mankind,

His love the greatest truth that we must find.
