"Good morning, Mrs. Kent!"

"'Morning, Chloe!" Martha placed a bottle of milk down on the table and motioned the blond girl in. "Join us for breakfast?"

"No, thank you. I already had something to eat. Is Clark ready yet?"

"Him?" Martha rolled her eyes.

The two women were laughing when Jonathan Kent entered the kitchen door. "What's so funny?"

Neither of them answered as they couldn't stop smiling. Martha moved towards the stairs. "Clark Kent! Get moving! Chloe's here!"

"Coming down, Mom!" came his muffled, distant reply.

Though Chloe declined Martha's invitation to eat with them, she couldn't refuse the steaming mug of freshly brewed coffee Clark's dad offered her.

"You look different." Jonathan said as they sat at the table.

Chloe blushed. "Why, thank you, Mr. Kent - this is my organic-farm-girl ensemble. Like it?"

Fleece-lined denim jacket, plaid blouse, faded jeans, brown docs comprised Chloe's look for the day. She left her hair unstyled but neatly combed; disregarded make-up and went with just strawberry lip balm; she also omitted jewelry save for her watch.

"It looks …" Martha liked it but the right adjective eluded her, "…homey." It was so un-Chloe but remarkably something else. "What brings you in so early?"

"I asked Dad to drop me off on his way to work. Came to make sure Clark doesn't miss his bus today and for this…" She pulled her digital cam from her red backpack and got quizzical looks from the Kents.

Just then they heard Clark's footsteps approaching. Chloe positioned herself by the stairs and starting clicking away at different angles as he descended.

Martha's audible gasp and Jonathan's guffaw had Chloe giggling.

Clark turned around when he got to the bottom of the stairs. "Tada!" He exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.

"Omigod!" Chloe said as she took a good look at him. "Nice!" She scanned him again from head to toe. "Really nice."

"Thank you." Clark beamed as he also beheld Chloe. "You look rather fine yourself."

Jonathan glanced at the clock and declared that the two of them should start walking.

Martha still couldn't believe what she was seeing. "You two have fun today."

"Oh, we will, Mom." Clark replied as he held the door open for his friend who still hasn't stopped snickering.

They walked down the driveway but Chloe kept a few steps behind claiming she found it hard to keep pace with Clark's long strides. What she really wanted was to get a good view of him again.

"My, my, my." Chloe started as they stood by the road; seeing him like that made her little heart flutter. "Clark, you look really stunning in your all-black leather jacket, dress shirt, jeans, boots - overall-assassin-look." He also had his hair gelled and styled. His black messenger bag completed the outfit. Chloe conceded - she was definitely going to find it hard to concentrate today.

Clark pulled on a pair of dark sunglasses before flashing Chloe his unchangeable Kent charm.
