'If Only...'

If only things were different,
how I could love you

we'd have more of a chance, us two
If only you hadn't loved me,
and I hadn't loved you back,
I wouldn't be here, and you wouldn't be there
and we wouldn't wish for each other everywhere.
If only we'd stayed on our seperate sides,
and hadn't gone behind enemy lines,
I wouldn't miss you when you weren't here
and for me, you would never have shed a tear.
Now we're left here, only to say,
'If only things were different'...
Though that will be saved for another day,
because 'If only's' wont wont help
If 'If only...' is still not.
