Angel, Demon
By Una Elfman
An angel is something to be afraid of
Beauty, heavenly pain
Untouched, pure, wise
Simple enmity, their hate for me.
I can't win, I can't fight;
What good comes of fighting angels?
No reasons, no rationalization,
Only the authority to hurt me
They say, "She deserved it,
Evil little bitch,
Threatening us."
Threatening by being alone,
By being outnumbered five hundred to one,
By walking another way.
They've no idea how wrong they are.
A demon is nothing to be afraid of
No different from any foe on earth
I could win, I could fight
I could beat it down
Like I've been beaten before,
Like I've flared back
Like I'm still fighting.
Angel, demon
I can't tell the difference any more.
