He Should Have Been.

He should have been studying, or listening to her words about their up-coming test. He should have been reading his book that lay open, he should have been doing a lot of things, but staring at her was not one of them. Her lips moved ever so slightly as she read a passage from the book. Her brown eyes followed the page and she came to a halt smiling, liking what she read. He eyed her up and down. From the top of her brown head past her chest, all the way to her feet. She was standing behind a chair with one hand on the books and one on the back of the Victorian-style sitting chair. He was sitting across from her at table, just staring. He knew he had loved her for a very long time, unable to count the many days, he knew he wanted to kiss her and make her smile, he knew he could sweep her off of her feet. He just watched as she read listening to her soft voice. She looked up and the passion that filled her eyes referring to the book she read did not leave; yet it was a little different. She smiled and showed her teeth. She bent her head and sat down her book and then herself sat down. She was looking at him and he wanted to look away, embarrassed that she caught him staring. " Harry?" she spoke the letters rolling off her of her tongue. He stared, and then spoke as well, " Yes Hermione? What did you need?" " Are you even listening?" she asked laughing a bit. " I should have been," he answered.
