The Digimon King

Note: I don't own anything but the plot and some of the ideas. I want to thank you for looking this up and I hope that you like it. Please review and let me know what you think so that I know that I'm not wasting my time putting these things up. Thanks.

The first time he saw her he nearly fell to the ground,

The minute he saw her he was under her spell.

A red headed Siren that called to his heart,

Boy did he ever come awake with a start.

There she sat stiffly across from him,

With a challenging look and a stubborn looking chin.

Her violet eyes flashed as she mentally prepared,

Who would win the match he no longer cared.

She held her first card steady before laying it down,

So he laid down his first and smiled charmingly at her frown.

The girl accepted his challenge and prepared her defence,

On autopilot he returned the blow with his own offence.

They played for hours with no signs of ending,

Locked in a battle they fought for the title defending.

He sought it as just another prize to have,

But she was there to win, to be number one.

Both were exhausted and ready to quit,

The sponsors were about ready to throw a fit.

Who would win this skilled and awesome game?

Who would triumph and who would be tame?

Then he laid down the final defence,

He saw it in her eyes that were full of protest.

He had beaten this angel who stared straight ahead,

She slowly withdrew her deck then looked at him, "Game Over." she said.

She carefully nodded to the referee,

Then began to gather up her cards so carefully.

Sticking his hand out the boy congratulated,

The girl simply stared, her eyes full of pain and hatred.

"Good Game." he said lower his hand,

She ignored his words with a toss of her red head.

She didn't care how smart or cute he was,

All that mattered was he'd beaten her, he was number one.

And so the boy was crowned the King that day,

The Digimon King, people would say.

But through it all he looked for one,

But she'd already left, she was long gone.

So even though he'd won the whole Digimon game,

He didn't get the prize he'd come to crave.

The only thing he'd really gotten that spring day,

Was the name Rika Nonaka and one hell of a game.
