Author's Note: This isn't a really great chapter. It's only a start, like
an introduction to the characters, kinda.
Chapter 1: The beginning
"Oh, no!" Arianne yelled at herself "Why do I have to learn this!" Arianne was in her bedroom at 26 High Street Burbage, Wiltshire, trying very hard to master the art of writing with a quill and ink. "Mum!" she yelled at her door "What is it now?" asked a frustrated Ginny Potter as she arrived. "I can't write with this stupid quill!" Arianne complained "and I doesn't help that I either soak the parchment, burn it and spill ink all over it accidentally every five minutes!" Ginny sighed, she was so glad that she had been using a quill and ink since she was old enough to write. "It's really quite easy honey," she told her only daughter "see, watch." She dipped the quill into the small ink bottle that she'd just repaired and wrote:
Hello, my name is Ginny Potter
on the parchment on the desk in front of her. "There, see?" she asked "Yeah, but Mum you have had a lot more years practice" Arianne justified "Thirty-two years" she sighed "and your father has had thirty-three years today and it would be a great birthday present for him if you could learn how to write like a witch instead of just like a muggle." "Ok, I'll try until two and then I'll stop for today, I'm tired of scrubbing this desk" Arianne told her mother "Ok, but I hope that you can learn before then" replied Ginny "it's only twelve, and you only have until the 1st of September, remember that." She left Arianne to work it all out by herself. She was very independent and was definitely smart enough to work it out. She sighed, she'd really enjoyed having Arianne's company and now she would be going to school, she wouldn't even be there for her daughter's birthday! Oh well, she could send presents to her via owl post. She was also worried about the journey to Hogwarts, what if Voldemort tried something? Harry and Ginny had almost been living in hiding ever since their daughter was born, afraid of what Voldemort would do if he found out that she existed. He had mysteriously disappeared at the end of the year before, failing to find the Potters. Ginny's mind started to wander and she found herself thinking of her school days, the main thing she remembered was the giggling, blushing and hiding around corners within a ten metre radius of Harry, that had all ended in her fifth year, when she knew how he felt about her. Everything had continued from there, the midnight visits to Hogwarts when Ginny was in her final year and Harry was studying to become an Auror at the Ministry Of Magic in London, escaping to Hogsmeade to visit Harry when he was living in an apartment there, that was the life. They had been married on the 19th of September, two years after Ginny had finished school and Arianne had followed exactly another two years after that. Oh well, she thought, another little one soon to come. She sighed again and patted her only slightly swollen stomach. She hadn't told Harry yet and she supposed that she'd have to tell Arianne soon as well. Arianne had never been a very spoilt child and had always wanted a younger brother or sister. She busied herself with making lunch for her husband, daughter and herself until she heard what sounded like water pouring into a bath and Arianne's hysterical squeals. "Mum!" Arianne yelled from the top of the stairs "I've just managed to fill my room with water and I think I'll need that drying charm again!" Ginny sighed and went to salvage at least part of the situation; she'd have to tell them about the baby another time.
Author's Notes: REVIEW, if it's bad, then tell me, if it's good then tell me. Be CRITICAL and please tell me what you do and don't like about it. PLEASE.
