A Tale of Two Witches
By Ellen Zemlin
Nat came back
But not with a kayak
He did return
With his own ship
From stem to stern
"The boat is named after Hannah." Kit thought. But Nat said it was not. He said that when he left
He realized that the real witch
Was back in the town where he was charged with theft
"I want to see inside!"
Kit cried.
But Nat said she couldn't see. "For when I take you in the Witch, You will be my bride-to-be."
Kit began to plan "In the summer," she began "I shall be in Saybroo'[1], And when the winter's cold sets in To the islands we will go."
"But Kit," said Nat, "When your uncle sees that," He said, pointing to the boat, "Do you think he'll let me marry you?" "Of course!" Kit said, "Don't be a dote!"
So that is what happens To Nat and Kit, our friends.
The story of Kit and Nat
In The Witch of Blackbird Pond Ends like that.
