My first attempt at a Snape poem. His thoughts during the war against Voldemort on the part he plays. Please read and review. For those of you that read Trial of Distrust, the next part should be up tomorrow.
Staring into the AbyssDo not weep for me sweet angel,
I have chosen my destiny,
Fate will not lead me astray,
Though I walk in darkness I can see the light,
Morn not for me,
I will survive as I always have,
Alone and forgotten I do not fade,
Presence is an addiction,
I can hide when I need to, vanish into the shadows
As others seek the sun,
Do not look where you fear to see,
You know nothing but a reflection
Of an enchanted mirror.
I show only what I wish,
My past a horror
My future lies before
Danger on all sides,
I'll serve when I need to, then betray as I can,
Loyalty is nothing when all sides distrust you,
I'm caught in a web of lies and deceit,
What does it matter what I choose?
Voldemort lies in my past and present,
He knows my darkest desires,
Dumbledore lies in the present,
He says he trusts that I will stay with him,
He sees the good in me,
And yet how can he know who I am when I do not know?
There's so much darkness in me,
Still I can see a glimmer of light,
I struggle through the eternal pool of the dark abyss,
Always struggling,
Always trying
Not to be lost,
It overcomes me, It swallows me whole,
Yet there he is,
Silver-light savior,
Find me now,
I cannot choose,
And yet I must.
