Disclaimer- Sailor Moon does not belong to me, it belongs to Kodansa, Toei Animation,
Takeuchi-sama, and other various associations.

Where I Belong
by Starbrigid

All my life it had been straight and simple
They said there's Black and White
No shades of Gray.
As long as you're pure, you're fine.
They call them Day and Night
You cannot have both.

How can they understand us
Those of the light?
Frivolous, righteous, deluded
When you stand there shining so bright
How can you feel anything
But contempt for those who don't?

Forget about the old ways of life.
I was not born to be loved
I was not born to conform
I was not born to live in the light.
There is only THAT place
Where I belong.

To see contempt, look away from the mirror
To understand fear, just understand the others.
The monsters that haunt us
The nightmares that come-
You know, it's light that creates the shadows.

To feel aggression, just imagine their laughter.
Their pity amusement HATE smiles
"Be careful
Or you'll end up like-
Like-
HER."

I want to take their glow
And shove it down their throats.
I want to make their smiles fade
And their laughter turn to screaming
Then silence.

I want one by one to turn them.
Dry bones can hurt no one.
To snuff out the stars
Kill the full and crescent
The blood moon has begun.

If I ever yearn for love, I watch them.
Smirking-
Oh god-
Burning-
It's better this way.

She looks into my eyes and
Smiles a self-righteous smile
She is my superior.
Secure in the knowledge
She does not fear me.

"If you look into the mirror
The reflection that will greet you
Will be twisted with truth.
Put your hand against the glass
Trace it up toward your face
Then draw your hand back
Clench to fist
Shattering glass.
Fragments on the ground.

Do you want to know hate?
Think about yourself
And what you've become."

I am the chosen one.
I shall turn my back on the inferiors
The ones who have chosen the light
And I'll descend to the place
Yes, the only place
I could ever belong.
