Last Ep Seen Before Writing: Tempest

Disclaimer: I do not own them. If I did I'd make a big sandwich out of Lex, Clark, Pete, and Whitney and give it to Lauren/Sully Vann.

Stepping On Lex

Author's Note: This fic was inspired by Dinner With A Careless fencer by Lauren/Sully Vann. She has awoken my Chlex muse. And I was also inspired to write this fic because of her fic Skateboarding. Where else do you find Lex Luthor contemplating skateboarding around the mansion?

" I'm never going to get this," Chloe complained, her mouth forming a pout as she stepped on Lex's foot yet again.

Lex smirked. "You're thinking too much," he told her, straightening her back with his hand. "One-"

"Two, three," Chloe finished for him in an exasperated tone. She rolled her eyes. "I know, I know."

"Hey, you're the one who wanted to learn how to ballroom dance. I already know how, which is why you asked me, remember? If you want to complain instead of learn, we can stop," Lex warned her, trying to hide a smile.

"One, two, three. One, two, three," Chloe said muttered, twirling around the hardwood floor. Moments later she stepped on Lex again. "It's hopeless," she groaned, sinking to the floor.

Lex just looked down at her, waiting for her to pull herself together.

"I can't do it, Lex," Chloe said, resting her elbows on her knees and her head in her hands.

Lex crouched in front of Chloe, using a finger to bring her eyes to his. "Do you want to be able to dance at Lana and Whitney's wedding next month?"

"Yes," Chloe answered, raking a hand through her tousled blond hair.

"Then stop saying you can't. You can. I can teach you, but you have to stop convincing yourself that you're going to fail," Lex told her, pulling her to her feet.

Chloe straightened herself, putting one hand on Lex's shoulder, and the other in his hand.

"Close your eyes," Lex said softly.

"Lex," Chloe warned.

"Do it," Lex said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Now listen to the music. Clear your mind and feel the beat."

Lex and Chloe began to move around the room. Their movements were liquid and graceful. Chloe's eyes remained closed as Lex spun her out, then back in. Only when the song ended did her eyes open.

"I did it!" she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up. Without a thought she jumped up and kissed Lex soundly.

Lex's eyes widened in shock at the outburst.

"Uhm, I…uhm," Chloe started, blushing deeply at what she had just done.

Before she could form a sentence Lex's lips were on hers. Chloe's body melded to his as they kissed.

"Do you have a date for the wedding?" Lex asked after he had pulled back.

Chloe grinned mischievously. "I do now," she said, resuming their kiss.
