Draco stared at the fireplace. His hands slightly clutched on both armrests of the chair. He knew his father was still talking but his brain stopped on the last statement his father made.
"You have a brother Draco, and he's coming to Hogwarts this September.."
'A brother?' Draco thought 'this must be a joke! The old man's loosing his sanity! I'm an only child! An only child of Narcissa Malfoy his wife! His last trip to Azkaban must have caused this! He keeps talking to those damned dementors! I told him they're no good! They mix up yo-'
"Draco, are you listening?" Lucius said, quite annoyed. "Pay attention, Draco, this is important. You shall meet Malachy at King's Cross and escort him to the platform and when you arrive at Hogwats you will bring him to Dumbledore right before the sorting begins. Do you get me, boy?"
Draco cleared his throat. It was rather dry. He didn't really hear a word his father said. He was more concerned about his father's mental health. He didn't know whether to laugh at his father or feel sorry for him.
"Ah.. yes father." Draco opened his mind to ask more about this "Malachy" but thoughts from what happen the last time he questioned his father flashed briefly into his mind. 'However .' he said to himself the thought of looking for an imaginary boy is not what he had planned on doing on his trip to Hogwarts. 'Better to have a bruise at his back where no one can see than look stupid in front other people.' He thought.
"Father? Might I ask a question?" Draco asked.
Lucius raised an eyebrow. He wasn't used in repeating himself.
Draco cleared his throat again 'This is starting to become a habit' he thought bitterly. He quickly pushed the thought away before his father begin loosing his temper and start dragging him back to the dungeons.
"Who did you said this . 'Malachy' was? Physical appearance? Color of his hair? How old is he?" Draco raised an eyebrow. He was clutching the armrest of his chair to prevent himself from smirking at his father. 'An imaginary friend?' he thought 'The guy's almost 50! An imaginary son?! Was I that of a disappointment?'
Lucius did nothing but to raise his brow even higher.
"For me spot him at the platform faster, I mean." Draco added quickly. The location of his father's brow was not a good sign.
"He is about 5'6 and has brown chestnut hair. He is also expected to be wearing muggle clothes. And keep this in mind Draco, he is your brother so treat him as a Malfoy." Lucius said sternly
Draco couldn't hide it anymore. 'muggle clothes?' .. 'brother?' .'treat him as a Malfoy?!'. He coughed to hide a laugh. And stood up from his chair. ' a Malfoy in muggle clothes!.. That's a good one!' he thought. . He wasn't expecting any further details about this matter. Not from a Malfoy, especially this Malfoy Smirking he headed towards the exit.
"Why are you smirking?' Lucius said. Not bothering to turn to his son, who is now in front of the door.
"Nothing father." Draco let out a big slime this time. "I just thought it would be ..cool to have a . brother."
Draco closed the door behind him. His smile, still not leaving his face.
"I shall visit you at St. Mungo's often, father " Draco said softy then made his way to his room..
"Or then again, maybe not.."
