Below a clouded sky a terrified girl fled. Running on fear-induced
adrenaline, she didn't know where. From cobbled street to alley, behind
restaurants and apartment buildings, she ran; throwing dustbins behind her
and changing direction unpredictable.anything to loose them. The rain had
stopped, but had been pouring to soak her to the bone and leave puddles
everywhere.
The back streets of Prague weren't easy to navigate during the day, and at night they made an imposing maze, but she ran nonetheless. Four of them had followed her out of the club, but since then she assumed 2 had ended their pursuit, and as she let an exhausted breath out into the icy air, she realized that a large stone wall was only meters in front of her, to her left the locked exit of another restaurant with discarded junk abounding, and to her right- the side of another old building blocked her escape.
She skidded to a halt and pivoted on sore feet (having discarded her high heels several streets before) only to see them.Closer to her than the wall, with faces partially obscured in shadow. Demonic growls and predatory rumblings surrounded her as the other two dropped silently over the wall behind her, crouching like animals in striking positions, heads tilted slightly in a curious manner. One of the larger two stepped into the light, revealing a face with sharp features and callous eyes, the moonlight glinting off one of 2 elongated fangs where his canines should have been, grinning wickedly. She staggered back a little, still out of breath and now sobbing in desperation as she looked around her for anywhere to flee. The creature before her smiled and lunged forward. "No!" she cried hopelessly, cowering away and covering her face with shaky hands. The creature never reached her.
A scream of pain broke the air and she felt something brush past her swiftly, followed by the sounds of a drawn sword striking flesh, frantic footsteps and the murmuring of two words "Day Walker". Slowly she looked up from her knelt position on the wet ground only to see the last of the 4 creatures that remained begging a tall, powerful figure in black for his life, only to be thrown across the alley against a broken water pipe that protruded from an old discarded heater. It twitched, held just off the ground by the pipe and bleeding heavily from its chest, it snarled before a clean swipe from the Tall man in blacks' sword took off its head. She screamed as its corpse turned to dust, and she was left kneeling in the middle of the alley.in darkness, silence. and alone as once more it began to rain.
