Author's Note: This is a story about Juliette and Shelby basically. The song "Pretty Girl" by Sugarcult plays a role in this story too. Shelby and Juliette have graduated from Horizon and are now enrolled in college. I don't want to give everything away, but basically some things happen between both girls and their love interests. In any case please read and review. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Also, the beginning may sound like something out of Buffy, and it kind of is… but you know, it's a basic plot only mine has a Higher Ground and mR.p twist to it… right.
Disclaimer: I don't own Higher Ground or the song… what's your point?

Can't Get You Out of My Head- Choices
Juliette sat with her hand on her head leaning back on the couch while she listened to Brendon. Brendon was some guy Juliette had met a week ago in the lunch line. He was teaching her how to get more bang for her buck so to speak. She had fallen for him within a day and eagerly agreed to come along with him to the fraternity party they were currently at.
"You know, when my dad died it was like there was a piece of me missing. I was so emotionally screwed up you know. I mean, I was feeling guilty because I don't think he ever knew how I felt about him. I just, I'm still emotionally scarred," Brendon said looking over at Juliette.
Juliette was wrapped up in his every word. He smiled; he had her right where he wanted her to be.
Juliette did a little jump-start and smiled embarrassed to realize she had been staring. She giggled a little. "Yeah, well, I didn't really ever have a Dad but it must be hard for you."
"You never had a Dad? You see, that's very interesting. It's like we were talking about in my Psych class. You know, I would have never guessed you never really had a Dad because of the way you act, the way you chose to act. You chose to rise above that whole fatherless figure. You see Juliette," Brendon said placing his hand on Juliette's knee sending shivers down her spine. "In the end it doesn't matter who you are, it's all about choices. Everything is about choices, so what choices are you gonna make?"
Juliette smiled at him. "Well I would like to make a choice to leave here and go talk about our choices in a cozier place."
"Well I think that's a great choice, and who would I be to stop you from following through with your choice?"
Juliette laughed. "I don't know, who would you be?"
Juliette pushed Brendon on the bed and began to undo her top. "What are you doing?" Brendon asked her with a smile playing about his lips.
Juliette smiled mischievously. "Making a choice…"
Brendon smiled. "Score," he thought to himself and let her continue with the fun she was having. "Freshmen are the easiest.
Pretty girl is offering,
While he confesses everything.
Pretty soon she'll figure out
What his intentions were about.
