A/N: Another attempt at a Digimon fic. Let's see if I can pull this one off eh?

Disclaimer: I do not own any part of Digimon! Not a single thing! Hehe.

He shuffled himself out upon the balcony, among the stars that shone brightly. Hopping up on the balcony ledge, he sat there letting out a great sigh catching sight of a shooting star passing by. Should he wish upon it? Was it really worth it?

"Gabumon! Gabumon! Oh, there you are Gabumon." Yamato stopped as he spotted his furry, blue friend. He smiled walking out to greet him. "Dinner's ready Gabumon."

As he drew closer, he could see an expression of sorrow and concentration across Gabumon's fuzzy face. "What's the matter?"

Gabumon sat there, continuing to gaze up at the stars.

"Yamato? What would you do if something you wanted, wasn't within your reach.would you wish upon it or would you let it go?" He turned his head to glance at Yamato, who had now taken a seat in the chair.

"Well," starting with a sigh, "If it was something you really wanted, but you couldn't get it, you could wish upon it. And hope for it to come true." He chuckled softly, brushing a few of his blond strands from his face. "That's an interesting question you should ask, what is it that's bothering you?"

Gabumon turned back, now gazing upon the city lights the flickered off in the distance.

"Nothing, I was just thinking about something." Quickly he turned around with a grin, catching Yamato off guard. To change the subject."Did you say dinner's ready?"

Yamato let out a hardy laugh as he nodded.

"Yep, ready and waiting to be eaten!" Getting up, he stepped closer to his friend and with his hand, ruffled the blue coating on top of his head. Before retreating inside, he took one last look at Gabumon and walked in shaking his head.

Later that night, Gabumon sat there upon the bed looking down about the soft, young face of his human friend who was sound asleep. With watchful, curious eyes, he studied the outline of his face, noticing the perfect features. Studying his chest that rose up slowly, and down with each breath he took.. Taking his paw, he placed it down next to Yamato's hand that rested against the pillow. Five fingers he counted. The same question that swam around his head that day was now bothering him even more. He whispered softly to himself.

"What is it like.. to be you.. to be human Yamato?" Yamato stirred suddenly, then with a soft mumble of words he turned over onto his other side. His back was now facing Gabumon. As he smiled, his deep brown eyes softened. Finally turning over to curl next to Yamato, he took a long glance out the window; just then, he saw another shooting start dash across the sky. He was certain now, that he should take the chance and wish upon that star, that had giving him his second chance. It was all or nothing. Closing his eyes, he thought of what it was he wanted; that was in his heart.

What he had wished for, he wanted so badly, wondering, would he get his wish?

As he slowly drifted off to sleep watching the starts twinkle and dance among the midnight sky, the crest that lay upon the dresser flashed with a radiant light, illuminating the room for a few seconds before it dispelled. Surprisingly, it wasn't bright enough to cause anyone to awaken, that slept within that room.
