The 'Id' and I

NOTES: This is an original poem. Inspired by Xenogears' Fei Fong Wong's story, which had a striking resemblance to me.
Within me lies a child
Refusing to become mature
And my attitude seems to be mild
Refusing to chase after that lure
And what you see
Is just an Id
The harder side of me
Because the child
Remains happy
And Id becomes wild
Without being happy
I'm not innocent – never so
Did I ever say?
But I've just yet to know
Is love true today?
That Id in me
Lacking in love
Needs happiness to be
That child in me
Filled up with love
Is dark reality
And which is me?
If ever I can gain a hope
If I do smile
No longer will the Id mope
Id won't be sad, for this while
That Id in me
Remaining harsh
May just be the key
The love I seek
Hidden by the child
If I could gain a peek…
I will no longer be an Id
I will no longer be a child
I will be me, both sides rid
Full and whole, just for this while.
