Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Characters, they all belong to JRR Toilken.

A/N: When I finished the Return of the King, I couldn't express my feelings, so I simply wrote this. It is a farewell letter to all the characters of the books, because I knew I wouldn't ever be reading more about them that was by the same man. I hope you enjoy, phleaze R/R

1 Goodbye elf-queen Arwen,
With your mortal choice.
King Ellessar, Strider, Wingfoot, Aragorn, Elfstone,
In your kingdom, rejoice,
5 And honor all the wounded and the fallen
In the fields of Gondor,
The Rohirrim, Dunedian and Noble folk,
Shall be remembered ever more.

Merridoc and Perigrin
10 Their tales being told,
In the Shire, far away,
Of their fighting brave and bold.
To Samwise the Gardener,
With your tree of Lorien,
15 Who stayed with Frodo
From the day the quest did begin.

Farewell Legolas and Gimli,
Two friends of foes,
May you someday take to the sea
20 And learn to forget your woes.

Saurman the black of heart,
Got just what you deserved,
Decieved by your own Wormtounge,
And none here could preserve,
25 Ther darkness of your reign,
The ruin of the Shire,
But sing of deeds in pubs,
As if in a church chior.

The great ones who left on the ship,
30 Those of the Third Age,
All of Middle Earth endebted to you,
The worth we cannot wage.
The bearers of the Elven Rings,
Take thee to the sea,
35 And with thee go the Bearers
Of the Great Weight shared equally.

Galadriel, the Morning Star,
Let not your bright light end.
Elrond and your lovely house,
40 Best wishes with you I send.
Gandalf the Grey, Mithrandir,
You often bore bad news,
But you saved the Shire, and Middle Earth too!
Without you there would be no clue,
45 That within the Shire, two tiny Hobbits,
Had what the Dark Lord was seeking,
Kept in a pouch or 'round their necks,
Safe in your unknown keeping.

Bilbo Baggins who left his home,
50 Upon the Grey Wanderer's command,
Met the pittiful creature Gollum,
And so this tale began.
That led poor Frodo to the edge of the Earth,
Looking over a mountanious ravine,
55 Claiming the Ring for his own,
Making him Unseen.

Then Fighting with the ghostly Gollum,
So close to the edge,
And throwing him finally over,
60 Glad for the mercy he was pledged

Go thee all now,
May you finally rest.
The Saviors of the Third Age,
For you have done the best,
65 Of any creatures in the battles
And worked hardest of all beasts great and small,
The best that Middle Earth has ever seen,
We thank you, thank you all.
