Desperately Wanting
Written: November 15, 2000
Looking back now I morn the day I received the dark kiss
I welcomed it, even ached for it
I reveled in the powers it gave me
Nothing stopped me from doing as I pleased
The rivers ran red with the blood of innocents
Their cries of pain forever silenced
No one could hurt me now
And those who had before soon learned regret
But all that is past now
As if I lived as someone else
No one will ever know my pain
A microscopic spec against the sorrow of the world
Oh to be given the gift of eternal life
Only to be cursed with such loss
Will you ever find me dear lady?
Or forever turn from me your favor
To finally find peace in your arms
'Tis truly a gift to be sought
Blissful oblivion after a lifetime of loneliness
Or will I be cursed to walk this world for all time
Forever seeing what I cannot have for myself
To watch as others receive that which only you can give
