A/N: I really shouldn't do this. IF you continue reading, know that IF I do continue it, it will be a bit, I've got to get Lights, Camera, Action done before I start on this…and maybe Just Two People. This is different, very different. I don't know how long it will be, but yeah, it will be Charah. This is based off of the OTP I called Chuck. If you're here, settle in, and let me know if I should keep it going.

Ch 1. Chuck and Sarah

Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck

Kiss me Chuck

Light exploded around them, enveloping them. He felt safe, secure, and for the first time in a while, right. His brain had been heavy feeling ever since downloading the Intersect, but now…now, it felt right. It felt like it was supposed to. The light faded, and it was dark, but he felt her. He felt her presence…but why couldn't he see?

"Chuck, can you hear me?" He recognized that voice. He would know her voice anywhere…Sarah Walker…maybe Sarah Bartowski. He prayed with everything in him it was Sarah Bartowski. Five years ripped from her, five years of everything they had been through, taken from her…it wasn't right. Even if she never came back to him…it wasn't right.

"Don't try and speak just yet," he heard her say. He tried to open his eyes and found he couldn't. "Chuck, squeeze my hand if you can hear me." He felt her hand slip into his. He wanted to cry from relief. It felt perfect, natural, like they belonged together. He fought to open his eyes, and when he did, he saw someone there, but she was fuzzy. He tried to blink and eventually he did, and his sight cleared.

He couldn't help but smile at the sight he saw before him. His angel, his best friend, his lover, and hopefully, his wife. She was there in a pink blouse and charcoal skirt, looking almost exactly as she had when he had seen her at the Buy More long ago. The difference was she had a doctor's coat on. He looked around and saw he was in a hospital room.

She looked younger, much like she had when they first met those five years ago. The smile on her face filled him with warmth. "You're dying to say something, I can tell. Go ahead, but don't be shocked if your voice doesn't work correctly or at all. You've hurt your head."

Chuck tried to nod but felt some pain in the back of his head. "Do," he began, and felt and heard the raspiness in his voice. "Do you remember?"

She gave him an amused, quizzical look. "I remember everything just fine, do you remember?"

"Nothing past the beach," he managed to get out. He cleared his throat, and watched her face. He knew that look. That was the look of something wasn't right. It wasn't wrong, but something just wasn't right. "How long?"

"How long have you been here?" she clarified. Chuck nodded. "Five days."

Chuck tried to remember hitting his head, but couldn't. He glanced around and saw it was only them. He gave her a look, hoping she could read it. She chuckled at him and shook her head. "I don't know what you want me to say or do."

"Is the room bugged?" he asked softly. She pulled her chin back, surprise on her face. "Sorry," he continued. "Didn't know how to ask that in code."

"The room shouldn't be bugged," Sarah answered carefully.

"You didn't check?" Chuck asked. "You know how they are."

"You're safe here, Chuck," she answered quickly, concern on her face. "I need you to trust me."

"Alway," Chuck replied, almost automatically. "I'll always trust you, Sarah."

A warm smile grew on her face, and she tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "Thanks," she said, almost shyly. What was going on? Sarah was never like this, well, not since…Chuck blinked and looked at her closely.

"Are you going to bust me out of here?" he asked. Sarah snorted. "What?"

"Since I'm the one that put you in here, I will discharge you when you are ready to go home," she told him, a grin on her face. "I don't think anyone will need to bust you out. Now, are you ready to see Ellie, or do we need to talk about what happened first?"

"About Quinn?" Chuck asked. "You said you remembered."

"Who is Quinn?" Sarah asked him. "Wait, you mean nurse Quinn that had to help strap you down?"

"Strap me down?" Chuck asked, his eyes wide. "Why did I have to be strapped down?"

Sarah was quiet for a moment. "Okay, do you remember your birthday party?" Chuck stared at her. "The one where Bryce sent you the electronic card that you opened in your email?" Chuck nodded. "It caused a seizure, Chuck."

"What?" Chuck replied, stunned.

"It caused a seizure and you fell backwards, hitting your head on the edge of the bed frame," Sarah continued. She walked over, and sat on the edge of the bed. She studied him a second and took his hand. "I need you to know I normally don't get this…close or intimate with patients. Your sister used to jokingly call me the 'Ice Queen'. I was supposed to come to your party, but there was an emergency here and I was detained. Your sister wanted us to meet and…" she trailed off.

"She wanted us to go out," Chuck finished for her. "She did that…a lot."

"Yeah, I know," Sarah said, chuckling. "She knew I had dated your co-worker…partner, whatever he is."

Chuck was silent a second. "Bryce isn't a CIA agent or an accountant," he muttered.

"What?" she asked, shock on her face.

He turned to her. "I'm guessing you aren't either," Chuck continued. "Did I have seizures while I was unconscious?" Sarah nodded. "A lot?" Sarah nodded again. "Oh, God, every time I thought it was the Intersect flashing, I was having a seizure."

"We had to get pressure off of your brain," Sarah began.

"A Craniectomy," Chuck said. Sarah nodded.

"After that, they stopped…and then they started back," Sarah told him. "Your mom and I…we argued about when to reverse it. Poor Ellie…"

"Mom and Dad are alive," Chuck said softly. He looked at her. "They're alive."

"Yes, your parents are alive," Sarah told him, grinning. "You're currently living with your sister while you do renovations on the house you bought, remember?"

"Starting too," Chuck said nodding. He couldn't help feel a little sad.

"Hey, you're gonna be okay," she told him. He nodded, his head down. "Chuck, I promise."

"Oh, I know," he said, looking up at her. "It's just…nevermind."

"So, what was going on in your head?" she asked. "For scientific reasons," she added, grinning.

"Scientific reasons?" Chuck asked, returning the grin. "Not a lot."

"I don't believe you," Sarah told him. "But, your sister misses you, so, let me get her, and you and I will continue this later."

"You're the doc…Doc." Sarah grinned at him, patted his hand, got up, and left the room.

Chuck sat there, trying to wrap his head around everything. All of it, had been in his head, seizures, none of it true. Somehow his mind had taken him on a journey that was fantastic.

His work partner and friend, Bryce Larkin was not a CIA agent. Chuck did remember Bryce talking about Sarah, and that they had dated some, but how in the hell did Chuck's brain come up with them being the Anderson's, he had no idea.

A computer in his head…science fiction. And someone like Sarah Walker, falling for him…Chuck shook his head and winced. He had forgotten about the craniectomy. He was alive, and he had a lot to work out, but he was alive. He was also alone…again.

He kept thinking about the constant theme of what he thought was a five-year relationship with Sarah…trust. He didn't know this Sarah Walker, at all, but a part of him…a small part of him…an important part of him…trusted her, and that…that shook him to his core.

"So?" Ellie asked as Sarah came outside, shutting his door behind her.

Sarah couldn't help herself, she tucked her hair behind her ear. "So, do you think it would be unethical after he's released from my care to ask him out?"

"You better," Ellie told her. "Is he okay?"

Sarah looked back at the door. "He apparently has gone through some things in his head," Sarah said, looking back at Ellie. "He might need to talk to someone."

"Maybe a certain doctor that doesn't have him under her care anymore?" Ellie asked, grinning. "But physically?"

"He'll be fine, Ellie," Sarah told her. "His last MRI looks good. His motor functions seem to be normal. It may take a bit to get back to 100% but considering we almost lost him…" Sarah trailed off. "He told me he trusted me."

"That's what Chuck Bartowski does, Sarah," Ellie told her. "Now, I need to see him, but, after that, I think you need to see him."

"I will, professionally," Sarah told her.

Ellie paused at the door. "I was thinking more unprofessionally," Ellie said with a wink. Sarah couldn't help but grin. She thought that might be the best idea she had heard in a while.

"Sarah," she heard behind her, and spun. There stood Bryce, worry on his face. "How is he?"

"He's fine, Bryce," Sarah told him. "I'm telling you that card wasn't your fault. I don't think he has epilepsy and I think the original seizure is about something else entirely. The lights from that card, maybe it didn't help, but you didn't do it to hurt him."

"I still sent him that card," Bryce insisted.

"Yeah, you did, but he's okay." She took his hand and squeezed it.

"Have you talked to him, is he slurring words or anything?"

"No-no," Sarah said shaking her head. "He's responding quite well." She couldn't help but grin, and move a lock of hair behind her hair as she thought about Chuck. "I hated to have to have his head shaved, but I'm sure it will grow back."

Bryce watched Sarah, a grin growing on his face. "Really? You, Sarah Walker?"

"Me, what?" Sarah asked.

"You have been charmed by Chuck Bartowski, and this with him in the hospital and only about 50% of his charm."

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Sarah insisted. Bryce gave her a look. "I'm telling you, I'm-"

"Chuck is one of the kindest guys in the world," Bryce told Sarah. "He lost his girlfriend a few months ago, and that's affected him."

"When you say lost…"

"She dumped him," Bryce told Sarah. "He's had trouble trusting others. People in his circle, he trusts. People he doesn't know…not so much."

Sarah was silent for a second. She started to tell Bryce about Chuck thinking some time had passed, and Chuck had thought Bryce was with the CIA, but she knew that violated patient-doctor privilege. It was murky that she even told Ellie. "Ellie is in there with him now."

Bryce nodded. "I'm gonna leave them alone. Do me a favor, don't do anything to lose his trust."

"Again, I don't know what you mean," Sarah told him.

"You are so bad at lying," Bryce told her. He started to leave and paused. "He's lucky, he had you to help him out. Not that Ellie isn't amazing, but you…I know how good you are." With that he turned and left. Sarah watched him go, thinking about Chuck and trust.

"I'm so glad you're okay," Ellie was telling Chuck in his room. He had smiled upon seeing her. She hugged him gently, Chuck knowing she wanted to squeeze him tight.

"Am I okay?" Chuck asked.

"Sarah thinks you are, and I believe her," Ellie told Chuck.

"Is my career over?" Ellie was silent at that question. Her first concern had always been making sure Chuck made it through this, but as it became apparent that he would, she began to wonder exactly what he had asked. "You don't know." Ellie shook her head gently and Chuck sighed. "Damn."

"We don't know that you can't go back to work," Ellie reminded him. Chuck nodded. "How's your head feel? From the incision?"

"Okay," Chuck told her. "I guess they'll be putting it back soon?"

"Uh, you are put back together, little brother," Ellie told him, grinning.

"That's best, my brain probably would have tried to escape the hole," Chuck quipped. Ellie stood there, head tilted, just watching him. "She told you, didn't she?"

"Sarah told me you had gone through some things in your head," Ellie informed him. "As to what things, that, she did not share." The amused smile that covered her face told Chuck that Ellie would find out. Chuck knew he could put it off for a bit, but not for too long.

"Uh, did anyone tell her about what happened to me?" Chuck asked. He was so confused emotionally. He had feelings for a woman he didn't know. He had feelings for an ex-girlfriend. And then there was the whole, he-had-pined-for-five-years-in-his-seizure-induced-backstory for Jill. His girlfriend from college…that Chuck had broke up with years ago.

"I didn't and I'm pretty sure Bryce didn't either," Ellie told him. "Chuck, what happened in your head while you were out?"

"You're not going to believe this," Chuck replied. Ellie just looked at him. "Okay, in my mind, five years has passed." Ellie's eyes went wide. "It all started at my birthday party…the one from about a week ago…except I was working in the Buy More."

"Good grief," Ellie muttered, but clamped her lips shut as Chuck told her the story.

}o{

"Dad dead, Mom a spy, you and Sarah together, but not together, but together, and maybe really together after the kiss on the beach," Ellie said trying to make sense of it all.

"I really think we're together…except…obviously…gah!"

"Chuck," Ellie began, trying to pick her words carefully. "Can we talk about Carina for a minute, and also you were hiding in a Buy More for five years?

"Would you like to add me thinking Bryce was a spy, sleeping with your ex-girlfriend when he insisted he didn't and she insisted you did. Carina telling you about Bryce and Sarah being together, and how Carina was apparently having a fake relationship with a man as a spy and it came to a head at his birthday party."

"Carina and my issues didn't come to a head at my birthday party," Chuck muttered. Ellie gave him a lock. "Well, they didn't, but, I see what you're saying. I know Bryce and Carina weren't having an affair, Ellie, I do. I know they were friends, and after I we broke up and Sarah and Bryce broke up, they started dating, but here's my question Miss I'm-not-a-psychatrist." Ellie giggled at that. "Was my brain putting Sarah and I together because of Bryce and Carina, or to make me trust her because she is my doctor, or…or is there another reason," he finished softly.

"Chuck, she's your doctor, so she cannot, by law, date you while you are her patient," Ellie told him. "Which gives you time to figure out how you really feel about her."

"Ellie, it's hard to understand what I'm feeling and why," Chuck countered.

"I know, Chuck, I know, but if you do feel something, I really suggest you do something about it, and don't wallow like coma Chuck did." Chuck nodded. "Over JILL?" Ellie shook her head, making Chuck laugh.

"Am I going to be okay?" Chuck asked her softly.

"Yes," Ellie answered. "I don't know about work, but you'll figure something out."

"I guess I can always be a spy," Chuck joked. Ellie roared with laughter.

A/N: Yes dear reader, you read that right, Chuck's ex-girlfriend….Carina Miller (don't call me Hansen). Strap in. Yay or nay? Take care friends.
