A/N: Is writing Fan fiction just like writing a bike? I guess we will see.
This is a little warm-up to stretch my muscles before I get into some of the more thought out stories I was considering. This little short story is set after the epic tale of Beast Boy and Raven finally realizing they were meant to be together, when their relationships is suspected by the team but hasn't been confirmed yet. I have created the villain and (fair warning) while I've been casually rewatching various episodes and reading some comics and fanfics I'm not confident in my ability to stay within canon and characters so any feedback will be welcomed :) Time line would be the season that we all deserved after the series ended and Trouble in Tokyo.
Also does anyone else have a hard time rewatching season five because they know the ending and it's just SO UNSATISFYING because I haven't been able to watch it again despite rewatching most of the series. (Minus the Terra episodes because just … no)
Songs I listened to while writing:
Flare Guns by Quinn XCII, Chelsea Cutler
Always! Here we go, here we go again. Rating for language and safety!

Disclaimer:
I don't own the Teen Titans, I don't own any of the songs I might mention in the author's notes as inspiring these musings. Though if I ever become a billionaire the very first thing I would do is make my dream season six of the Teen Titans. EVEN IF IT REQUIRED THE WHOLE BILLION DOLLARS. I also don't own Mr. Potato Head.

20 minutes ago, Raven entered this abandoned warehouse just as the rest of the team had. A fairly vague and generic crime alert, suspicious behavior at a sensitive location. No mention of any of their familiar adversaries, no mention of any out of this world abilities wreaking havoc.
Yet here they all were. Her stomach shot out of her body, and she attempted to clear her head to assess the scene. Her back was pressed against his and she could hear his heartbeat like his chest was right beside her ear. (Or was that hers?) The smoke settled and she noticed the rest of her teammates had been corralled into a small glass box. It was as if everyone had been wrapped in a sickly wine-colored plastic film the way the light bounced off Robin, Starfire and Cyborg. Their breathing was shallow but present. Upon noticing how Starfire's eyes wilted downwards from their original position to meet hers, her head started to get hot. How much blood could this villain have drawn out in such a short amount of time? She should have been feeling dizzy or sick at the sight but the adrenaline and fear in her body kept her rage at the helm. That heat that was dissipating throughout her head started to flicker, and she knew this bubbling was not perpetual. If she couldn't find a way to rectify what was happening, there would be a boil. They shouldn't have been in this spot! How did this happen?
While she tried to steady her breath despite the absolute drunken wave of uncontrolled panting coming from her green partner, she cut the elapsed time into significant moments to try and place where the fuck they were and how the hell would they get out of it.
20 minutes ago: Entered the dark warehouse after hearing random clinking and footsteps. Assumed it was some lower level crook trying to steal or even sell some type of merchandise.
19 minutes ago: The entire room felt like it was transported into limbo as an explosion of white light assaulted her eyes and the door slammed shut as if by some unforeseen magical force.
17 minutes ago: Disoriented, she heard grunts, screams and banging while her eyes only seemed to register brightness. She roared as a sharp pain birthed in reaction to the incessant stimuli that came from fucking somewhere. Flailing her arms as she turned around finally feeling them come up against matter.
15 minutes ago: She could see green, and knew he was panicking. Dread started to creep up her spine as she knew anger would be next to take residence in Beast Boy's chest. It would blossom from there into his heart, through his shoulders and eventually latch into every part of his brain and then…
She gripped his shoulder and flung him round so she could rest her back against his and try and orient herself. Steading her breathing, hoping he would mimic hers instead of her falling into the chaotic rhythm he was strumming out. She couldn't look at his face though she had a pretty clear idea of the picture. But if her eyes met his she knew love and concern would punt rage from the driver's seat in a comical manner not appropriate to their current situation.
And then so much waiting…
2 minutes ago: The smoke began to clear.
Which brings us back to this present moment. She tightly closed her eyes for a minute and counted to three before surveying the room to try and find out who was behind this ambush.
A figure came into frame, sitting smugly in a chair high above the action like they were some fake King in a renaissance fair. Sinister, yet priggish enough that her rage was waiting in the sidelines to make him regret ever deciding to enter into this arena. One of his little doe eyes was shielded by a limp, sorry excuse for a lock of hair that was hanging off his head. It did little to hide the receding hairline that the harsh fluorescent lights jeered at. Dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans, the casualness was an assault against the danger oozing into every crevice and crack found in the warehouse. A cliched, villainous smirk looked like it had been stuck to his face to way one might attach something to Mr. Potato Head.
A priggish chuckle echoed throughout the warehouse as the villain (whoever the fuck this was) slammed into the tension the way she wanted to slam a bench into this fucking face.
"Hello you two".
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU"
Raven winced. It wasn't going to be long.
"Don't get all worked up now, in all honesty I am a fan."
She grabbed his wrist in desperation but couldn't bring herself to turn around and look at him just yet. She cleared her throat as the sounds of her voice meandered into the void in sharp contrast to the billowing and acerbic tones already taking residence.
"This has gone on long enough, what do you want so we can end this"
"I want… him. But not this sorry excuse for a superhero, the thing that's waiting to come out now. Sadly, I know the only way to get him out is… you. Thought I have to say I vehemently disagree with his taste in women."
She felt him tense, she heard thread ripping as the seams of his uniform loosened.
"I've been watching you for years, watching your battles and your magnificent beastly form is exactly what I need to complete my master plan. I'm an alpha stuck in a beta body and I'm ready to find something external that I can operate from. But he only comes out when she's in danger doesn't he?"
She tightened her grip on his wrist. His heart sounded like dubstep.
"I've thought everything out, I've every contingency."
Suddenly her connection to Beast Boy was fractured and all Raven could feel was sharp bonds restricting her. They were cold and luminescent, and she let out a small grunt now finding herself as equally immobilized as the teammates stewing in the glass box. Slowly, whoever the fuck this was, brought a thin and ominous tranquilizer gun into the line of sight. He laughed gratingly and Raven saw a brown vial being loaded. A precarious robot wielding a knife came out of the shadows, heading towards her direction. How pathetic…
She let out a miffed sigh. This was not going to be good.
Fabric ripping, low growling. She peaked over her shoulder to see a growing green blotch start to encroach into the white background. It was going to keep encroaching, as if someone suddenly spilled green paint all over a canvas. Soon something would take the place of the man she loved and this "villain" would be toast. Unless..unless he really has mapped everything out. Unless he really was going to hurt her, and take control over the beast that was finally in front of her…
Wait… why wasn't "The Beast" in front of her? Her eyes widened as suddenly she couldn't see that spilled spot of paint. Sensing something coming towards her, her neck whipped her head back to center and she came face to face with…
Something in the middle. It was as if the process had been halted halfway through. His size was formidable but he still kind of looked like… Beast Boy. She noticed his rough, massive hands and long, sharp claws. Wider, thicker frame and a chiseled jawline resting below two piercing green eyes. The elusive middle of man and beast. It was primal, it was terrifying. It was… fucking hot.
"Oh"
She felt something else in her stomach start to take hold, a fire similar to what was in her head started to flicker down much lower. This new green form started to laugh.
He (it?) sauntered over to her and in one quick motion her restraints were gone, and she was wrapped up in his arms. She felt like a delicate piece of art as she was moved carefully to the sideline and placed on the ground. One claw reached out and traced the length of her jaw, then headed along her collar bone and landed right at the top of her sternum.
"Mine".
All that was able to escape her mouth again was a breathier "Oh." That fire shot up like a Bunsen burner being finally lit by an incompetent science student who had the gas open for 20 minutes. She stood up. Correction, she stood way up. Four red eyes within a shadowy cape and above a mischievous grin. Abruptly she also was larger, her cape undulating above a sea of black, ominous swirls now finding themselves on this canvas.
The glass box cracked. The villain was clutched in a powerful green paw. Black magic shattered any remnants of a threat within the warehouse. Within the two minutes that this happened those green eyes never lost contact with red. Teammates were suddenly verbal, a squashed villain was wailing, but all the while the dust around them blanketed the scene in a soft sepia tone, they never stopped looking at each other.
"I've been waiting to meet you".
Raven smiled in response, feeling invincible with this new burning sensation crawling through her body. As she walked towards him the beast flung the villain to the corner of the room where he landed with an anticlimactic thump. As the inches between them waned, she could feel his breath was charged. The whole world was caught in an electric paralysis until she was close enough to his chest to arrogantly poke it with one finger.
"Tag you're it"
And in a flash, she disappeared into a sea of black. The beast hungrily sniffed the air and let out a howl that made Starfire feel like an egg had been cracked on her head and the inside of it was running all the way down her back. He pummeled through the wall of the warehouse not soon after.
They all looked at each other until Cyborg said, "What just happened?"

And on to working on Chapter two! It's been so long since I've done this it was actually so much fun to write just for my own absolute enjoyment and fantasy :) Hope someone, anyone, out there enjoyed it a little.
The plan with this is for it to be far steamier and romantic than action, and if I decide to go full lemon it will be posted as separate piece with a different rating :).
