AN: Hello all! I've been a huge Bamon fan as well for a while but this is also my first fic for them. I've mainly just been reading other people's work. Hopefully you all enjoy this! It's just something small with a simple plot. Nothing too extreme. Warnings, there will be sex-the story is almost all about the topic. Also, I'm not a newbie when it comes to writing the subject either so it's pretty descriptive and kinky. Oh yeah, there will be an emphasis on praise kink, fyi, maybe more kinds of kink later on-still to be decided.
I have most of this fic already written (which is also a first for me-wow-I'm breaking so many barriers for myself with this project *happy tear face*, so I will try to update pretty quickly. I just have to edit everything. Reviews will definitely get the ball rolling faster though.
Also, I may come up with a song for each chapter that goes with the fic, so if you want to listen to something-as the title goes, I recommend "Nasty" by Janet Jackson. Cheers!
Without further ado, please enjoy! I love Bamon despite the show being long over, and I hope that shows in my writing
Disclaimer: All rights go to The CW and The Vampire Diaries, I don't own any of these characters.
I could learn to like this, listen up...
I'm not a prude, I just want some respect
So close the door if you want me to respond
'Cause privacy is my middle name
My last name is control
No, my first name ain't baby
It's...
Janet Jackson
Without further ado, please enjoy! I love Bamon despite the show being long over, and I hope that shows in my writing!Bonnie sighed, feeling the buzz of her cell phone in the back pocket of her high-waisted jeans as she watched the blender whirl. Its contents were full of fresh fruits, ice, and soy milk, the original shape of which was being chopped down to minute pieces of itself. With the customer in front of her waiting on the blended drink while scrolling through their own device, and with them being the only other person waiting for a drink, Bonnie took it upon herself to look at her phone as well.
It was just who she thought.
The boyish grin of her ex flashed beamingly at her on the screen making her dutifully place the device back where she found it. She blew an irritated breath at the wisps of jet black hair that fell into her face from her messy bun, the dark green scrunchy on her head not doing much after a long day of work besides looking fashionable and matching the dark haze of her beguiling eyes.
She pulled a polite smile at the man in front of her when he gave her a look over his phone, but it quickly dropped once he bashfully looked away. Bonnie rolled her eyes only to jump when her phone vibrated once more, once again demanding her attention. The vibrations against her round behind were loud enough this time to gather the attention of not only the customer but even her coworker Vicki who was mindlessly busy on her own phone. It probably would have garnered the attention of her side of the cafe as well if not for the loud jazz music that was playing.
"S-Sorry," Avoiding that major embarrassment for a smaller one, Bonnie quickly gathered her phone in her hands, ignored the call, muted her device completely, and pushed the 'do not disturb' button with a striking press of her manicured digits before slipping it back into her pocket and focusing her attention on her job. The young woman moved gracefully with the ease of someone who's done an act a million times before as she picked up the silent blender and poured the man's drink. She pointedly ignored Vicki's laughter at her expense.
"Here you are sir, have a nice day!" Bonnie chirped, finally handing the beverage over. There was a tint of pink from embarrassment on her cheeks that the man seemed to notice, but overall she held herself together as if the previous moment never happened.
He was was cute with decent looks and build, maybe almost ten years her senior from her twenty-one. Regardless of the obvious age gap, he smirked at her and handed his receipt back over with a whispered, "Call me sometime," her way.
Bonnie frowned as he walked away and it became deeper as Vicki sidled up to her snickering, "Ooh Bonnie, another phone number today?" She cooed spying the messily scrawled phone number on the receipt. "I guess that means it's time to move on, right? Find a new lover boy to call your own?" She finished with a knowing smirk and a perfectly arched brow.
Bonnie stared blankly at the woman standing next to her, silently fuming at her luck in having to work with the woman today of all days. Vicki was a beautiful woman, tall, olive toned, a dangerous brunette. She had eyes that could steal your soul while also transferring erotic fantasies. With one lick of her lips, Bonnie was sure she had men on their knees. This was exactly why the petite woman felt inferior.
Another buzz at her butt cheek gave Bonnie the excuse not to answer as she turned away from the smirking brunette and pulled out her cellular device. Distantly wondering how the vibration was still on when she remembered turning it off a second ago.
It was Jeremy again.
Staring at the icon for his number, which was really a picture of the both of them that Jeremy got professionally done. You would think they were models for one of those stock photos, the kinds that companies used to push products, or even that example photo you'd find in picture frames that you needed to take out before you put yours in. In it, there would be a couple that looked ridiculously happy and in love, an example of how a relationship should be as the buyer imagined themselves the same way ingrained in the frame, and that was how they looked–it was ridiculous.
While Jeremy and Bonnie were picture-perfect in the photo, real life held a different story. Much, much different.
In actuality, she and Jeremy were together, or at least they had been, for two years until he broke her heart. He had cheated.
And unfortunately, it wasn't the first time.
He was her first boyfriend, her first love. She had known him for almost as long as she'd known her best friend, Elena Gilbert, which meant she'd known him basically her whole life. Elena was his older cousin and while she was the same age as Bonnie, Jeremy was a year and a half younger than them both.
Jeremy had always had a crush on Bonnie ever since they were little, but despite being only a year older she had always felt she was too mature for him and never gave him the time of day. Little did she know at the time how true her instincts would ring.
When they got to college and Jeremy followed them down a year later like a love-sick puppy, Bonnie had finally relented. The boy had tried everything to woo her outside of cutting his ear off and sending it to her in the mail like a modern-day Van Gogh. Bonnie was flattered by his determination and unshakable feelings. No matter how many times she said no, rejected him, and gave him his bitter pills to swallow, he never gave up. Sure his eyes strayed every now and again, finding girlfriends and flings easily, especially after a big rejection from Bonnie, but he never caved in his pursuit of the girl.
Bonnie was the opposite of her friends. In high school, she didn't have much of an interest in dating. Sure she found some classmates hot, had celebrity crushes, and imagined kissing some of the really cute boys in her school, but when the opportunity to date came she backed into her comfortable shell like a turtle. The young woman never understood her reluctance towards having something serious with the opposite sex, but as she got older, she started to wonder if it had to do with the abandonment issues she harbored from her mother leaving when she was young and then her grandmother–the only maternal figure she had in her life–dying when she started high school. She was afraid of someone she loved that deeply leaving her. This bled over to not just her romantic prospects suffering but new friendships as well. Bonnie clung to the friends she had and grew up with but distanced herself from new people.
When college rolled around with the same song and dance, Bonnie started to become frustrated with herself. Her two best friends were in serious relationships that transferred over to college. Elena was dating a fellow pre-med student named Stefan Salvatore and her other bestie Caroline Forbes was dating a political-major, named Tyler Lockwood. Both men were former football stars from their high school who suited perfectly with the popular former cheerleaders. The girls had fit the ideal high school to college image, all except for Bonnie.
When slumber parties became full nights of just conversations about their boyfriends, their prowess in the bed, their hotness, and then, wedding plans and even matching baby names that Bonnie was coincidentally not included in, she knew something needed to change.
Her two girlfriends were always on her as well, teasing her for being so picky and constantly questioning her lack of interest. Why was she holding onto her v-card so desperately? Did her dad force her into a chastity belt that was also connected to a honing device, alerting him anytime a boy got too close?
Well, no, not quite.
Despite being a daddy's girl and being raised by a single father, her dad wasn't the hold-up. Besides, she certainly couldn't use that excuse while living hundreds of miles away from home at college. So what was the wait for?
Bonnie Bennett was a beautiful girl, now a woman. With tumbling raven locks that sheened with an amber red glow when the sun hit it right, large, doe-shaped pea-green eyes that brightened and darkened depending on her mood and a heart-shaped face with a widow's peak complimented by full equally heart-shaped lips, she was a knock-out. She had features that were innocently seductive yet mesmerizingly witchlike and not just in the face only, her body was to die for. Even though Bonnie was short, what she lacked in inches she made up for in curves and smooth blemish-free skin. Her caramel skin tone encased round, full breasts, a tight waist, and hourglass hips that led down to shapely legs. And yet, despite wearing clothes that covered her god-given body in sometimes unflattering ways and wearing next to no makeup until she got with the program and learned something in college, Bonnie was able to pull a handful of men.
But none she felt she could trust to give her heart to.
Jeremy was lucky. He got her at the right place and time. Bonnie had felt lonely one night after finding out Elena and Caroline had gone out again with their respective boyfriends on a date night and forgot to inform her. Beyond the fact that she hated to be the third–fifth (?) wheel, it still hurt. She realized her life circled around her best friends, and due to her hang-ups, she didn't try to make other (single) friends outside of them. This meant that if she didn't go out with them she was stuck at home.
That night had also been the anniversary of her Gram's death, also the night her absent mother decided to call her for the first time since the woman's death five years ago. It hadn't been a pleasant conversation once Bonnie realized the woman felt obligated to call her when Abigal–her mother, let slip that Rudy–her father had cussed her out early that day asking why she never called. Bonnie had promptly hung up after the slip, not even letting the woman say her goodbyes–which always felt final, and she cried herself to sleep. Jeremy had shown up at her dorm after his own horrible day dealing with a failed math test and a long-time girlfriend that broke up with him and comforted her throughout the night. Bonnie had seen the conviction in his eyes once he once again confessed his feelings for her and she earnestly felt he would never leave her. From then it was all she wrote and they were together from then on.
At first, it was awkward and Bonnie truly couldn't get past him being her best friend's younger cousin. She remembered him peeing his pants and picking his nose when he was younger.
However, that was then and now she couldn't deny he had developed into a handsome young man with bulging muscles and a boyishly charming face. It took a long time for her to move him into another category in her mind and see him romantically, and it took even longer to see him viable sexually but slowly yet surely, just like getting a date with her, Jeremy wore her down.
Bonnie could say she was happy with Jeremy, he knew her well since they'd known each other for so long. He was kind and gentlemanly. He knew better than to fuck up because Elena would not hesitate to show her wrath if he ever hurt the girl she saw as a sister. Elena could be protective like that even against someone that was her actual blood. It was one of the reasons why Bonnie loved her so much. Elena was empathetic to the fact she had so few people in her corner and understood that she trusted very few people, so, in some aspects, she strengthened her role in Bonnie's life and sometimes became a mother hen, along with Caroline. Although, if you asked Bonnie, she was the one who usually got Elena and Caroline out of sticky situations and typically was the voice of reason in their group.
Everything had been great between her and Jeremy for a while, and although it took her a while to warm up to being in an actual relationship with him, she eventually found that spark and fell in love. After a year they moved in together and things were good, better than good, amazing. Jeremy became her everything and so she gave him everything. Her love, her trust, and…her virginity. Most would call Bonnie a prude for thinking like this, but she honestly wanted to only be intimate with a partner that she felt was the one. While she wasn't sure that Jeremy was that guy, at the time she trusted him enough to give him the one thing he had been begging for since the start of their relationship. She almost felt obligated to after dating for so long and then moving in and even then making him wait.
Their first time together was…tough. She wanted to please Jeremy because she loved him, but she just didn't feel into it and it was painful, as was every time since. There were times that she would rush him to finish or when it was too painful, she'd tap his shoulder and almost beg him to stop. She didn't know what was wrong with her and it didn't help that he would whine about it if they went too long without having sex.
A few months later, Jeremy cheated. With his ex whom he had been dumped by on the same day that he and Bonnie had gotten together. Her name was Anna Zhu and their relationship had been complicated. She was his first true love outside of his obsession with Bonnie and so when she broke up with him because she was transferring to a school in California he was devastated. When she came back and tried to restart their relationship, he was elated. So elated that he forgot he was in a relationship with Bonnie.
Bonnie, of course, had broken up with him when she found out and for months they were separated yet unfortunately still living together until the lease was up. Things seemingly didn't work out with Anna for Jeremy, so he went back to Bonnie. After begging her to get back with him and even Elena suggesting that he'd learned his lesson and truly loved her, they got back together. Now she regrets ever giving him another chance. A week ago she'd found text messages from another woman on his phone. Naked pictures had been sent as well as vivid descriptions of what the woman wanted to do to him after they met each other. More specifically, how she wanted to 'suck his dick until he came all over her face again,' attached to a picture of her pursed lips with a suspicious white substance on her cheek and across her lidded eyes.
And who were these pictures of you ask?
Vicki. Vicki Donovan, the bitch that was talking to her and working with her now that just insisted that she find someone else.
"Bonnie I don't know why you even bother not blocking him yet." Vicki sighed behind her. "It's obvious what his type is like. He wants a girl that's just as insatiable as he is." She said with an inflection on the word that didn't make it sound negative. "You're way too sweet and innocent for him." However, that part definitely sounded negative.
She patted Bonnie on the back, rounding to face her fully with a patronizing pout on her face as her large brown eyes looked her up and down. "Maybe someone a little more homely would suit you."
Bonnie's green eyes glared as she finally glanced up at the woman's face after clicking ignore on her phone for the umpteenth time. After five hours of listening to this homewrecker go on and on about how she should just move on and that she was too innocent or inexperienced to tame Jeremy and that being why he stepped out, there was only so much more the girl could take.
Vicki tossed her hair back, a smirk pulling at her lips Bonnie could tell she really couldn't hold back, probably from enjoying Bonnie's despair all day. "Trust me, don't waste your time on guys like that, they only think about one thing most of the day. How much do you guys have sex? Once, twice a week?" Even less than that. "Good girl's like you don't have time for such slutty things." Vicki goaded.
Bonnie wondered if what she said was on paper if it would read a little differently and even be genuine, but seeing Vicki's face and hearing the snark and sarcasm in her voice told Bonnie the truth behind her words. Vicki thought she wasn't good enough, that she was the reason Jeremy had a wandering eye.
Bonnie glared at the other girl, wondering if today was the day that she was going to lose her job by fucking a bitch up. The young woman wasn't normally violent, to be honest, she never physically fought anyone a day in her life, but having to see the tramp that Jeremy was fucking when they had matching shifts at work for a week straight and having to hear her whore mouth give her fake sympathy made her want to beat a bitch down.
Bonnie will admit, that she was definitely naive despite her reservations when she got with Jeremy. He was younger, and although he was stuck on the young Bennett like white on rice before they got together he slept around and tried to fuck any woman that would let him, like most testosterone-fueled guys his age. His first love had been Anna but he had dated a couple of girls before her and bedded double that in high school and even more in his first year of college. Jeremy was a good-looking guy and his family had money with a doctor as a father and a lawyer for a mother. He and Elena also had prestige in their town as members of a founding family. He was not hurting in the relationship department.
Bonnie naively thought that since Jeremy always rounded back to her and only showed loyalty to her that he would pack that up and become monogamous.
Again, no, not quite.
He seemed happy in their relationship, always showering her with affection, saying how much he loved her, buying her gifts, and showing her off to his friends. But when it came to the lackluster sexual aspect of their relationship he wasn't satisfied and looked elsewhere.
That's where Bonnie's insecurities came in.
"You're right Vicki," Bonnie started, watching as the girl's puckered smirk morphed into a grin, "maybe I don't show enough enthusiasm in our sex life, and maybe Jeremy's better off with someone more suited to satisfy him."
"Hmm, that's what I was thinking." She agreed, nodding along. Happy that the smaller girl was listening to reason.
"However, that woman might have his attention for an hour once he's released his frustration, maybe a week because he knows she's easy enough to go back to, and because of the freedom of their relationship he'll fuck other women and bring her all kinds of diseases that fuck up her ph balance until she feels like a common bank that he's entrusted his sperm. She won't last for long. You know why?" Bonnie held her head up higher looking Vicki dead in her eyes, watching as the woman fidgeted and her smile dropped until her teeth clenched. "Because Jeremy is selfish, he only cares about himself and that will never change. I didn't realize that before which is a shame but I do now. And anyone who gets with him and takes my sloppy seconds is going to feel like that as well, sloppy and dirty."
"I-Is everything okay here?"
Verdant green eyes glared piercingly into shocked mossy brown for a second longer until her sharp gaze swung over to their manager, Jenna's, wary form. Bonnie didn't realize it but her speech had garnered the attention of not just her manager but the newly formed small line of customers at the register as well.
If not for the music playing, you could hear a pin drop it was that silent.
"Hey, guys!" April, another worker at the cafe, strolled in right at the tail end of Jenna's question with a sweet smile on her face, ignorant to the tension that was thick in the air.
Bonnie pursed her lips, sliding one more sharp glare in Vicki's direction before finally answering her boss. "Nothing's wrong, just thought I'd take out the trash before I clock out for the day." Vicki huffed behind her perceiving the double meaning, "I'll see you guys later. See you April."
With a wave at the young high-school-aged barista and a there-and-gone smile at Jenna, Bonnie turned to leave.
.oOo.
"You said what!?"
Bonnie sighed hearing Caroline Forbes's notorious screech through the Bluetooth device used to connect her phone to her car. Even with the volume down to moderate levels, her yell was still ear-piercing.
"Like I said Caro, she had it coming. That bitch has been fucking with me all week. She's lucky I didn't go with my original desire to beat her ass."
"Ohhhh my god! I wish I was there to see it! To be honest, even before the Jeremy incident, Vicki has just been asking to be called out. Everyone knows she's the campus homewrecker aka slut." Caroline snorted.
Bonnie bit her lip trying not to show her amusement even though Caroline wouldn't have been able to see regardless. She wasn't one to slut shame but even she could agree that Vicki was ridiculous in her endeavors. She would have to play detective to find a hot guy on campus–in a relationship or not, that Vicki Donovan hadn't tried to put her claws in.
"I mean it's a miracle that Stefen hasn't strayed and you wouldn't imagine the things I have to do–in the bedroom and out to make sure Tyler doesn't have a wandering eye." Caroline sighed.
Bonnie blinked quickly, suddenly feeling the desire to cry and not quite knowing why. She sniffed a bit, bringing her car to a slow stop at the red light in front of her. "Sure, but you and Elena have half-decent boyfriends," Bonnie snorted with a humorless chuckle, "they love you too much to hurt you like that." She sniffed again.
"Oh Bon," Caroline replied after a moment, seeming to understand the shift in tone in the conversation.
Even though it had been a week, it still hurt knowing that the one guy she finally gave her all to and trusted, hurt her. It was just her luck, and she shouldn't have expected anything less.
"Bonnie listen, what Jeremy did was not your fault. He didn't cheat on you because you didn't fuck him twenty times a day with only a water break. He cheated because he's a cheater and he will never be satisfied. Hell, I'm sure if Megan Fox or Kat Graham was dating him he would still cheat! Cheaters do what they do best. I mean, look at Beyonce and Jay Z! Kennedy and Jackie O! Hell, Tristan and Khloe!" Caroline dogmatically stated, almost rambling.
Giggling around the burn in her eyes, Bonnie spoke up knowing that if she didn't her friend would just keep going until she named every famous celebrity couple that had cheating allegations. "I know that Caro, it just hurts because it's still fresh." Bonnie bit her lip, pausing before saying what was on her mind. "I know it's not my fault but this situation has opened my eyes to something I want to fix." Clearing her throat she continued, "I never told you or Elena this but, I hated having sex with Jeremy."
"Not surprising."
Suddenly breaking at a green light, Bonnie heard the blaring honk from the car behind her and listened as the car jetted out and around, before speeding past her small Prius. Taking a deep breath and continuing on at the speed limit, Bonnie put her turn signal on and made a slow right turn. "W-What do you mean not surprising."
There was a bit of silence on the phone and then, "Honey, you may have known Jeremy a little longer than I have but you really didn't pay attention to him much before you two got together, did you? Well outside of the times he was banging down your door trying to get you to go on a date with him." The blonde giggled, "he's a dork!" Caroline expressed plainly. "He may sleep around, and especially tallied up the notches in his bedpost his freshman year, but he wouldn't understand the directions to a woman's clitoris even if you gave him a road map and the latest Xbox-PlayStation thingy as a prize. I told Elena that Jeremy shouldn't have been your first." Caroline sighed. Her utterance was said so emphatically that Bonnie clearly understood that she had had that on her chest for a while now.
"Wow, Caroline tell me how you really feel." Bonnie chuckled, rolling her eyes before merging lanes. She was getting close to her destination and knew she had to say what she wanted to say soon before getting off the phone.
Caroline laughed a bit awkwardly embarrassed by her own candor. "Well, you wanted my opinion, so…"
"Yeah, I mean…you're right." The brunette sighed, "Often I had wondered if I was miserable in that aspect because of me or because of his lack of skills. The way you and Lena talk about your experiences with Stefan and Tyler I felt inept and left out. I want to enjoy sex too." She stated in a near whine.
"And you will! Trust me! Forget about Derp Face Jeremy and get back on the horse. You are a hot little mama and I will be damned if you never have a positive sexual experience in your life." Caroline gasped as if she just now realized something. "That's it! I know what we can do! This weekend, you, me, and Elena are going to go shopping. We're going to change your wardrobe and we're going to go out! You already have the body so we just need to get a revenge outfit! We're going to post everything on social media and he is going to eat his heart out wishing he didn't fuck up so bad. I know what you're thinking, that's not you, blah blah blah. Trust me, you need this Bonnie, let us help you. I love you, as does Elena and we just want you to be happy, loved, and fully satisfied in life."
Bonnie felt tears once again threaten her eyes but this time due to how much love she felt from her friend and how grateful she was to have such amazing friends. Right after she found out about Jeremy, her first call was to her girls and they dropped what they were doing–Caroline's four-year anniversary that she had been planning all year and Elena's first time meeting Stefan's extended family and very particular grandmother. She was a big deal in their family, a woman whom you didn't bring just any girlfriend to meet. They dropped it all to come to her side and comfort her. For the rest of that weekend, the girls stayed with each other and had slumber parties pigging out on ice cream and getting drunk to famous breakup albums like Beyonce's Lemonade and Amy Winehouse's Back to Black, karaoke screaming about their troubled love lives–well Bonnie's, but Caroline and Elena could understand the feeling well. Tyler and Stefan were not their first rodeo and just like with Bonnie now, she had been there for them. They were returning the favor. One thing Bonnie realized she was not cursed with was bad friends, thank god.
Elena had given her an amazing pep talk the other day which instigated the reason she was parked in front of the building in front of her. Sensual Peak read the logo above the door in white font bold against the grey brick of the building. It wasn't her first time coming here, but it would be her first time, alone…with him.
"Thank you, Caroline, I really needed to hear that. I'd love to go shopping with you guys. I think it's time I reinvent myself as well. I've decided to try something a little different in the meantime. I want to understand myself more. While Jeremy wasn't great in the intimacy department, I wasn't either. I think there's something internal going on and I've started seeing a professional. I no longer want to deal with the baggage that other people have dropped on me. First my mom, dad, Grams inadvertently, and now Jeremy. I'm done, I need to live my life as the raw and real Bonnie Bennett."
"Hell yes! I know there is a sexual creature just waiting to get loose, Missy!"
Bonnie laughed, "That's Bonnie to you, Ms. Bennett if you're nasty!"
Both girls roared with laughter, Bonnie even whipping tears of glee from her eyes. Caroline always knew how to get her to loosen up and the butterflies she felt after parking and looking at her current location abated. Setting Vicki straight earlier added another shot of confidence in her mood to boost her up. She felt ready to truly start anew, fresh. With that thought in mind, almost as if he knew what was happening, Jeremy's face flashed across her phone screen, interrupting Caroline's call.
Smirking, Bonnie went into her settings under the call and officially blocked his number, the screen instantly went back to Caroline's call. Bonnie smiled brighter hearing the tinkling laughter of her friend's last few chuckles.
She'd said all she needed to say to Jeremy last night. It was one of the reasons why he was blowing up her phone all day. He knew they were officially over and now even a powerful witch couldn't revive their relationship that was buried ten feet in the ground. One thing Bonnie was never without was self-respect. He fooled her once, but never again.
She. Was. Done.
"Anyways, Care I'll give you more info about what I'm doing on our date, text the group chat what day and what time you want to do it and I'll clear my schedule. I gotta head in, or else I'll be late."
"Oh, you're there now?"
"Yeah…"
"Well, have fun sweety. Love you okay? Jeremy didn't deserve you, but I have a feeling the next guy you lay your gorgeous eyes on will."
"Uh..," Considering that the next guy may very well be her instructor, Bonnie wasn't sure how she felt about that. "Love you too, talk to you later."
They said their last goodbyes and with a lighter feeling in her heart, Bonnie stepped out of her car and walked with more of a bounce to the building's front door.
AN: Tell me what you guys thought! Like I said, I have most of this fic done already, probably about 7 chapters so far. This fic will be relatively short, maybe just under or around 10 chapters. I'm just going to edit what I have and then post.
This first chapter is just to give you an idea of who Bonnie is in this universe. I wanted her relationship with Caroline and Elena to be strong and authentic contrary to what they want us to believe on the show (I've been binge/hate rewatching) at least when it comes to Bonnie and Elena's relationship. Writing Bonnie and Jeremy's relationship here made me think about Delena.
*Stop reading from here Delena fans*
Not that Damon ever cheated on Elena or anything, but I believe Elena eluded a few times that the main reason she wanted to be with Damon so much was because he was always there for her and he promised never to leave her. As someone who's family and friends were constantly dying around her, she's probably feeling a lot of abandonment and survivors guilt. Someone who seems untouchable and unshakable like Damon is especially with his love towards her, compared with Stefan who despite being the better boyfriend has shown that he will leave her and can get over her multiple times if need be, she's going to choose Damon regardless if he's not right for her.
That's foundation for co-dependence and toxicity like my story's Bonnie and Jeremy. However, unlike Delena, Bonnie here doesn't want to be stuck in a rut and wants good things for herself. Nor is she selfish enough to settle just because it's easier.
Rant over, haha. I promise I won't be going off about Delena every chapter, but writing this gave me more perspective and I wanted to get it out.
Next chapter awaits! I promise it gets much better~
