Something was off about Midoriya today. I couldn't tell what but something was. During Hero Studies we were doing a small rescue course and no one could get the final victim. When it was his turn he walked up and the black and white slime-like fluid that was his quirk covered his body and this was when I first noticed something was off. His form seemed a little different, almost a little bit more femine. When he started the course his body moved in slightly different ways than normal. He saved all of the people and even managed to use a web to save the final one. Once he landed at the end everyone rushed over to him while All Might ended the lesson and left.
"Very well done Midoriya!" Ilda said.
"How did you manage to do that with the last one?" Kaminari asked.
"Deku-kun, you were amazing," Uraraka said.
"Congrats." "Nice job." "Why are you so spectacular?"
"Um, c-can you please give me some space?" he asked.
"The way you were so fast was manly!" "You looked cool dude."
"P-please stop t-touching me," he said, panic setting into his voice.
"Hey, give the man some room to breathe," I said, realizing what was happening.
"Hey Midoriya, you gotta show me how to move mid-air like that." "Dude, you are the ultimate student."
"Please, stop, stop. STOP!" he yelled, jumping up and using two webs to fling himself away.
"What was that about?" Yaomomo asked.
"You all crowded him and when he asked for space you just got closer," I said, noticeably standing away from where he was.
"What do you mean Ashido?" Ilda asked.
"If any of you paid attention to him and not just what he did or congratulating him you would have realized he was uncomfortable being surrounded like that. It looked like he was on the verge of a panic attack and I'm pretty sure that at the end his fight or flight senses were triggered and instead of attacking us he ran off," I said, the annoyance in my voice evident.
"Can someone tell me why a student saw a black and white person swinging away from here?" Mr. Aizawa asked, annoyed.
"Everyone rushed Midoriya and I think he had a panic attack from being surrounded and he ran off," I said.
"You surrounded the problem child?" he asked, concern in his voice.
"We didn't realize it was bothering him," Ilda said.
"So what? If the fucking nerd can't handle being surrounded then he shouldn't do heroics since they get surrounded by reporters all the time," Bakugou growled.
"Alright, since you are now in dorms you can spend longer doing your heroics studies. You are to search UA's grounds and find Midoriya. Once you do contact me or another teacher. Oh, and Bakugou, you are to do this without your quirk," he said.
"Why the fuck can't I use my quirk?" he yelled.
"Because, if a person who is panicking hears an explosion nearby it will cause them to panic even more. It's not that difficult, just use your brain," I said.
"The hell you say racoon eyes?"
"Stop, go find your classmate now," Mr. Aizawa growled.
Everyone split up with half the class searching the main building and the area nearby while the rest of us searched the different gyms and grounds UA had. I decided to go check the dorms to see if he was there. I knocked on his door and got nothing. I then remembered them mentioning liking being high up to see all around them. I went to the roof and saw something that slightly broke my heart. Midoriya was curled up into a ball and was crying.
"Hey, Midoriya, are you alright?" I asked, slowly walking over to him.
"J-just leave m-me alone," he said, his voice higher in pitch than normal.
"Midoriya, what's wrong? I want to help you," I said.
"What's wrong? What's wrong is me," they said, just above a whisper.
"Nothing is wrong with you," I said.
"Easy for you to say! Your quirk doesn't make you a freak! Your quirk didn't have to be forcibly awakened to make it so you can be a hero! You at least have a chance at a normal relationship while I'll be single forever because I'm a freak!" he yelled, looking at me.
"Midoriya, how does your quirk make you a freak? Look at me, I'm literally a pink girl who people call an alien or a moth monster," I said. "And what do you mean your quirk was forcibly awakened?"
"I can't tell you or I'll lose everything," he said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"If I tell you my mother will kick me out and disown me for my freakiness being out," he said.
"How about this, if you tell me I won't tell anyone," I said, sitting down near them but making sure to not get too close.
"A-alright. You know how Bakugou said I was quirkless and I said I unlocked it a few months before the entrance exam, I lied. I was never quirkless, but I had to hide my quirk. I got my quirk when I was four and my mother brought me to a quirk specialist. She yelled at him when he revealed my quirk and got any record of it removed by telling people that he was messing with her and that I had no quirk or I hadn't unlocked it. My quirk is called Shifting, it makes it so my body shifts while I'm asleep. After the Sludge Incident Bakugou and I were in, I was at Dagobah beach trying to get better before the exam and a bit of trash fell down where I was. I was hit before being covered by the goo that my quirk is now," he explained, holding his hand up as some of the goo made a small tendril. "But the original shifting part of my quirk is still there and I try to control it, but it's getting harder," he sighed.
"What was the original shifting part?" I asked.
"Shifting originally made it so when I slept my body could shift genders," he(they?) explained. "I have three 'forms'; male, female, and neutral. For the first time in years I woke up and was not male," they admitted.
I looked at them and realized they did look a little bit more femine but not too much.
"Why would your mother disown you for a quirk like that?" I asked.
"Because, she didn't want to raise, and I quote, 'a son with a quirk who makes them a useless tranny'. I was beaten, and bullied for being quirkless, and it was just because my mother was too worried about her own image," they said, letting out a small laugh.
"Why didn't Bakugou help you?" I asked, confused since the two went to the same school.
"Who do you think was the main instigator?" they asked. "Now you see why I'm a freak? Who would want to date someone who went to sleep a male and woke up a female?"
"I would," I admitted. "I know a lot of people who would actually."
"R-really?" they asked.
"Yeah, now you need to come with me to talk to one of the teachers and tell them what you told me," I said, standing up.
"W-why?"
"First off, what your mother did was illegal. Secondly, they need to know about Bakugou. And finally, we were told to find you and get you to a teacher," I said. "Why do you think I'm still in costume?"
"I guess, but can it not be Mr. Aizawa?"
"Wanna know what, I have Midnight's number so I'll send her a message to let him know you're alright and to meet us somewhere for you to go talk to her," I offered.
"A-alright," they said, slowly standing up.
I led them to an area of the woods where no one would go before sending a message to Midnight.
R18: I'll let him know, I want you to lead him to my office. Nezu said you should be able to get here without running into anyone.
Acid: Thanks
"So, I'm gonna lead you to her office. We shouldn't run into anyone, but if we do, I'll talk and you just remain calm," I explained.
They just nodded silently. I led them across the campus to the main building and managed to not pass anyone. I got to Midnight's office and knocked.
"Hey Ashido, Midoriya," Midnight said, opening the door. "Midoriya, can you go sit on the couch for a moment?" she asked.
"Y-yeah," they said, walking in.
"So, they had an anxiety induced panic attack from what Aizawa told me," she said, her voice serious.
"They told me some things and I felt the need for them to tell a teacher. Can you please make sure they get the help they need?" I asked.
"I guess it's time to put my therapist license to use. I'll make sure he's alright," she said. "Now how about you go change and go to the dorms."
"Thank you," I said, turning to go change and shower before going to my dorm.
Izuku POV
I told Midnight everything I told Ashido before looking up to see her face was a combination of anger, sadness, and something else I couldn't place.
"Alright, so for clarity what are you right now?" she asked.
"K-kinda in the middle. I-I have b-both, you know, both parts," I said, looking at my groin.
"So would you like me to use gender neutral pronouns?" she asked.
"N-no, i-if my m-mom hears a-about this I-I'll be r-removed," I said.
"Mid-Izuku," she started. "With what you just told me I can't let you go back to her. Her relationship with you is toxic and I need to get you out as a hero."
"B-but w-where would I live?" I asked.
"I'd have to check with Nezu but we could have you permanently in the dorms or even give you a slightly enlarged one to hold all of your stuff," she said. "As for when school isn't in session we can figure something out then. No one should be discriminated against for their quirk to the degree of having to hide and lie about it. Also, because of how you were treated while you were 'quirkless' we are going to investigate Aldera. Nezu will probably head that so they will most likely be shut down," she explained. "He probably already has a fully armed and operational Death Star."
I slightly chuckled at the reference.
"Now, as for what Bakugou did I need you to tell me something, did the bullying stop at UA or has it continued?" she asked.
"I-it lessened, j-just an e-extra hard punch or e-explosion d-during p-practice," I stuttered.
"Is that it?" she asked.
"N-no, h-he just d-doesn't do it w-where people o-or cameras can see," I admitted.
"Alright, I'm going to send Nezu an email requesting for an investigation of him and a temporary removal of Bakugou from UA pending the investigation. If it turns out bad he will most likely be expelled and blacklisted from hero courses nationwide."
"Y-you can't, h-he's going t-to be a-an amazing hero! H-he c-can't be expelled b-because of a w-worthless thing l-like me," I said.
"Izuku, you are not worthless. Everyone is worth something, and you are worth so much more than Bakugou. He has to tear people down to build himself up, and that's not alright, it's wrong. That's what villains do," she said.
"B-but he c-can't be a v-villain, h-he'll be a g-great h-hero with his q-quirk."
"A quirk doesn't make a hero, mind and heart make a hero," she said softly. "And you have the greatest combination of those two in all the hero student's I've ever met. Now, tomorrow you are going to be excused from all classes and we will be meeting up with a friend who will most likely be assigned to the investigation of both Bakugou and Aldera, he's going to ask you some questions and you need to be one hundred percent honest," she explained
"C-can I h-have someone there w-with me?" I asked.
"Depending on who it is," she said.
"C-can you b-be there?" I said, just above a whisper.
"If you want me there then yes," Midnight said, smiling at me.
AN-
So, my Hero's Decision is being discontinued since I can't get any further than where I got. This is going to be a happy little story with IzuxHarem but it will start slowly. Also I am going to clarify a couple of things for this now. Izu's quirk physically changes their gender to almost a molecular degree, they gain the right parts for being male and female as well as having all parts when they are gender neutral. They will also use different names for each gender. Izuku-Male, Izu-Neutral, Izumi-Female. The first girl who will be dating Izu will be Mina but that won't be for a chapter or two. Finally, their quirk evolved to make them like Mania (Andrea Benton) from Marvel Comics, however there is more to their quirk than what they knew or even know now.
