The halls of LME were mostly empty after normal business hours. That suited Yukihito Yashiro fine. He had just been to his mailbox and was separating the offers for his two charges, Ren Tsuruga and Kyoko Mogami, into their respective piles for review. After he got them organized, he started with Ren's pile. Almost immediately, the first three were nos. Ren is not going to want to do anymore period dramas at the moment. He's trying to branch out, Yashiro thought to himself. The fourth one, an action film, seemed promising, but the fifth one stopped Yashiro in his tracks.

He looked over the page, blinking. No way. Is this real? He looked from side to side down the hall and covered his mouth to keep in the most unmanly of noises. It was an offer for Ren to do a live action InuYasha movie. Yashiro had been a fan of InuYasha for years. It was no secret that he had a thing for dogs, and there was just something that grabbed him about that particular story. But imagining his charge as Lord Sesshomaru of the Western Lands was almost too much for him. His inner fangirl was squealing for release.

Yashiro took a deep breath. I know Ren won't want this one either. It's not serious enough for him. He's absolutely perfect for it, and I would love to see him do it, but unfortunately… he placed it in the no pile with a frown. He decided to switch over to Kyoko's offers, as she was the easier to choose for of the two. He knew that as long as her schedule allowed, she would accept any job that came her way. He smiled to himself as he looked over the offers, culling the ones that wouldn't elevate her career. When he reached the third one, however, he dropped the paper on the table and put his face in his hands.

No. The acting gods are not doing this to me today. They can't do this to me. I'm supposed to act in the best interests of my charges! But the temptation was great. He took a shaky breath and picked the paper back up. It was once again for the live action InuYasha film, but they wanted Kyoko for Kagura, the Wind Sorceress. Yashiro kept his hand over his mouth as he looked down the hall once more. When he saw that there was no one there, he picked up a pillow from the couch he sat on and squealed into it.

When he got the raging beast that was his inner fangirl to settle, he pulled the Sesshomaru offer once more from Ren's "no" pile. He looked from one offer to the other, the gears turning in his head. He knew they would be phenomenal, both of them, and he also knew how badly they wanted to work with one another. He remembered the disappointed looks he got from them when he revealed that Ren had been wanted for Lotus in the Mire. He was still periodically kicking himself for that. There was also the impending job in America, The Route Project, that Ren would be on for who knew how long, and if all went well overseas, he might accept more offers there and be gone for an indefinite amount of time, leaving Kyoko in Japan… alone.

But Kagura is another bad girl type and Ren is a leading man, the manager part of him offered. These roles won't do anything for either of their careers. But, the fangirl was rabid and screaming. BUT THINK OF WHAT IT WILL DO FOR THEM PERSONALLY! SESSHOMARU AND KAGURA ALWAYS HAD THAT COOL, UNSPOKEN THING BETWEEN THEM! THINK OF HOW HAPPY REN AND KYOKO WILL BE TOGETHER BEFORE REN HAS TO LEAVE! AND THINK OF HOW GRATIFIED YOU WILL FEEL WATCHING THE MOVIE KNOWING THAT YOU HAD A HAND IN THE PERFECT CASTING OF THESE TWO AWESOME CHARACTERS!

He banged his fist on the table. He would let them decide personally. He would slip both offers into their yes piles and hand them over. And should he accidentally mention that Kyoko's schedule was wide open to allow for such a venture, and that Ren had been offered a role on the same film, that wouldn't be messing with fate… would it?

The following morning found Yashiro parked outside of the Darumaya, waiting on Kyoko. He glanced in his rearview mirror at Ren, who seemed to be the picture of composure, but who was also drumming his fingertips on the seat beside him as he read through the couple of offers that Yashiro had handed him. Or rather, as he appeared to read through the offers that Yashiro had handed him. Yashiro knew that Ren's mind was actually somewhere inside the Darumaya, following in Kyoko's wake like a lost puppy.

The front door of the restaurant opened, and Kyoko bounded cheerily across the driveway. She opened the door of the car and slid in beside Ren, who picked his other offers up from the seat to make room for her.

"Good morning, Mogami-san." His smile was radiant. Kyoko answered with one in kind.

"Good morning, Tsuruga-san! Good morning, Yashiro-san!"

Yashiro turned in his seat and gave the stack of offers to her. "You seem to be in a good mood today, Kyoko-chan."

She accepted the offers from him with a nod. "I can't help it. The weather is so nice today!" The lie was easy. The real reason for her happiness was sitting in the back seat of the car beside her, but Yashiro didn't need to know that. Kyoko looked over the offers quickly as Yashiro put the car in reverse, but she squealed abruptly, causing him to hit the brake.

"Mogami-san, is everything all right!?" Ren's worry was instantly palpable.

She clutched the offer to her chest. "They want me to be in a live action InuYasha film!"

Ren raised an eyebrow, "Inu-whatta?" He had to contain a smile as he looked over her face. Her eyes were shining with the manic glint that they got when she was excited about fairies.

"InuYasha!" she repeated "It's a story about a girl named Kagome from the present that travels through time down a magical well and meets a half demon named InuYasha in the past and they go on adventures! It's a Feudal Fairytale!"

Ren allowed the smile to come out at the word "fairytale". He couldn't not be happy when this was obviously such a big deal for her.

Yashiro took a breath. It's now or never. "Oh, yes. That one. Ren, you got one of those, too."

Ren blinked. "I… got an offer for it, too?"

Kyoko gasped and covered her mouth. "Oh my goodness, Tsuruga-san! Who do they want you to play!?"

He flipped quickly through the offers until he got to the one he wanted. His eyebrows knitted together. "Lord Sesshomaru of the Western Lands." Kyoko's cheeks went pink and she looked away from him. He frowned. "Is that not good?"

Yashiro ventured a glance back at Kyoko in his rearview and had to stifle a chuckle. Somebody has a thing for Fluffy-sama.

Kyoko composed herself and smiled at Ren. "No, Lord Sesshomaru is really cool!" And very very pretty, she added mentally. Ren let out a breath he was unaware he had been holding and found his smile again.

"So will you be taking the role, Mogami-san?"

She peeked at him over the paper in her hand. "Will you be taking yours, Tsuruga-san?"

He shrugged. Her eye gave an involuntary twitch. She hated the shrug.

"I suppose I'll take it if you're taking yours. I've never been a" he read the character description again "dog demon before." The image conjured in Ren's mind of what a dog demon looked like was not very flattering, but he would be lying if he said he wouldn't jump at the chance to get to be with Kyoko on set again. "What is your role, Mogami-san?"

She smiled brightly. "Kagura, the Wind Sorceress."

He smirked and fixed her with a smoldering gaze. "A sorceress, huh? Sounds… intriguing."

Her cheeks and the tips of her ears turned scarlet. "She's not like that! Well… not all the time" she added quietly. Kyoko's mind jumped to a particular scene that she remembered from the InuYasha anime. A scene where Kagura was topless with her back turned to none other than Lord Sesshomaru. She wanted to scream. She almost opened her mouth to tell Ren that she would be refusing the role, just based on that scene alone, but then her mind conjured another image: Kuu Hizuri.

She swallowed hard and turned her attention to Yashiro. "Do I have room in my schedule to do this, Yashiro-san?"

He nodded. "Absolutely."

"Then please call them and tell them that I accept."

Ren nodded. "You can call and tell them that I also accept." He knew he had room in his schedule; it had been cleared because of The Route Project, but he had time for one last project before leaving for the States. He placed his hand over Kyoko's on the back seat. "Let's do our best, Mogami-san."

Kyoko blushed and nodded.

Ren set the offer down in his lap. "Would you mind helping me with research for the role?"

She tilted her head. "Research?"

He gestured at the offer. "I know absolutely nothing about this. Would you be willing to come to my apartment and share your knowledge with me? Perhaps we could watch the show so I could get ideas."

Yashiro would have punched the air had he not been driving. His plot was going according to plan!
