CHAPTER 1

A/N: This is a sequel to my previous story "What is your dream?" and we basically pick it up where we left off - two months after the Glee reunion. Here is what you missed (as they used to say on Glee): Santana and Brittany are married and live in Los Angeles. They are about to welcome their first child as Santana is now 6 months pregnant. Brittany is a dance choreographer and teacher, she has opened her own dance school with Mike Chang. Santana is a songwriter and has written songs for herself and also for other artists (Mercedes and Rachel among others). She took screenwriting classes and has written a proposal for a new TV show called "Glee", which tells the story of the New Directions. She's now hoping to find a producer that would be interested in her project. This fanfic continues to mainly focus on Brittana's personal and professional developments, and is told from Santana's point of view. It also features the other Glee characters, when relevant. Please note that English is not my native language, so feel free to report any mistake. Although this story can be read independently, I would recommend to read the first story beforehand (I sometimes refer to some events or other characters from the first story).

Disclaimer: I do not own Glee nor its characters.

AT THE "IN MOTION" DANCE SCHOOL – LOS ANGELES

I am just about to take my seat on the front row when I hear Tina's voice right next to me: "Hi San!"

"Hey T! How are you?" I smile, hugging her, even though my pregnant belly is pretty much in the way.

"I'm great! How are you doing? How's the little one?" she asks, looking excitedly at my stomach.

"We're both doing well, except that she really loves to press on my bladder…" I reply with a chuckle.

We both sit down next to each other, waiting for the recital to start. Twice a year, Brittany and Mike put on a show with their dance students, to showcase their talent and get them used to performing on stage in front of an audience. It's always fully packed, that's why I made sure to be there early and get myself a good seat.

I chat with Tina while we wait and about 30 minutes later, we hear Britt and Mike address the audience, to announce the programme of the evening. Shortly after, a bunch of 4 years old kids get on the stage. It's the youngest group that Brittany teaches. As I watch all those little children dressed up in matching outfits and performing Britt's amazing choreography, I can't help but smile. She was right, they truly are the cutest thing. I rub my thumb on my belly, thinking that in a few years from now, I'll probably watch my own little girl dancing like this. The song is barely over that the kids get a standing ovation from their proud families.

The recital goes on and several classes perform, from all age groups, including adults. I'm seriously amazed because they are all great! About halfway through the show, Brittany and Mike appear on stage again, this time to perform a dance duet of their own. Every year they come up with an even more impressive choreography than the previous one, so I'm really excited!

I never get tired of watching Britt dance. She's so so sexy, urgh. God knows that it always turns me on a little but this time I find myself particularly hot. Fucking pregnancy hormones, they have really been acting up lately. I feel on fire! I take my printed copy of tonight's programme to desperately use it as a paper fan, which makes Tina turn to me: "you're OK, San?"

"Yeah, yeah… I'm fine, just a little hot… Probably because there are so many people here" I lie. Who am I kidding though? It has nothing to do with the number of people. It's definitely because of that sexy wife of mine. To make it easier on myself, I decide to focus on Mike but it's really hard not to look at Brittany.

After another hour and a few more performances, the show ends with tons of applause. Tina and I stand up to clap and cheer on our respective spouses. We try to move towards them to congratulate them in person but they are both busy talking to parents. I use the opportunity to run – or walk would be more accurate - to the ladies bathroom. When I come back, I see that Brittany and Mike have found Tina. A lot of people are still in the room though, chatting together.

"Babe, you were absolutely amazing!" I say to Brittany, giving her a kiss. "You too, Chang! Your students did great, it must be a gigantic work to make this such a success!"

"It truly was incredible!" Tina adds. "I think this is your best show yet!"

I nod in total agreement.

In the middle of our group conversation, I notice that Britt has spotted someone she knows, apparently behind me. "Oh my God! James!" she shouts with a smile.

Wait, what? James? That can't be right… I turn to check for myself but yes… there he is in all his glory, hugging Britt. Are you kidding me? We moved to the other side of the country… How do we still run into that asshole? I can't believe it!

"Hi Santana!" He says, grinning. I immediately tense up, rage building up in my chest. I can't stand his voice and I can't stand his stupid face either.

"I see that you're still Brittany's girlfriend?" he asks in a fake sweet voice, with a fake smile. He's definitely trying to provoke me.

"Well actually, James… I have been upgraded since we last met. Now I'm Brittany's wife and baby mama" I say proudly, grabbing Britt's hand in mine while I place my other hand on my stomach.

"Ooh…" he replies, widening his eyes, apparently noticing my big belly just now. I guess that once again, he was just too busy looking at my wife.

"Congratulations…" he says, with a half smile directed at Brittany and I can tell that he was not expecting this. That's right fucker, whatever competition you think we were having, I definitely won!

"Thank you, James!" Brittany replies with a big smile. "Life has been good to us."

"But James… enough about us" I add. "What are you doing here, I thought you were still in New York?" I ask as innocently as I can.

"Well yes… I still live in New York! I'm in L.A. only for a couple of weeks, visiting family. And when I saw the posters for tonight's show, I thought that I would come check Brittany's dance school for myself and show her my support! Dance teachers have got to stick together!"

"How sweet of you to interrupt your vacation to come support Brittany" I reply in a sarcastic way.

LATER THAT NIGHT, AT SANTANA AND BRITTANY'S HOUSE

"You're OK, baby?" Brittany asks me as I sit on the couch and sigh. "You were very quiet in the car."

"Yeah…I'm just tired I guess…" I reply.

"And a little jealous too, maybe?" she asks with a smirk.

Fuck, she knows me too well.

"Fine… jealous too. I just really hate James, Britt! I thought that that guy was out of our lives, thousands of miles away. But somehow that creep still finds a way to hover around my wife." I reply with an angry tone.

"Come on, San… He was just curious to see the show and the school, he's not "hovering around" me." She replies.

"He invited you to dinner tomorrow night!" I yell, with a sudden furious tone that surprises both Britt and myself.

"Angry much?" she replies, caressing my cheek to calm me down. "It's a friendly dinner baby, it's just to catch up and you can always come with us if you want."

"I was not invited, Britt. And besides I can't even make it, Rachel is dropping by tomorrow night to help me prepare for the meeting with Lee Paulblatt."

"What, Rachel is in L.A.? Oh, is that guy the FOX producer?" she asks.

"Yes, Berry is landing in L.A. tonight" I reply. "She'll be in town for a week, for business… but I didn't fully understand what it is about. Actually I didn't listen to her whole monologue, there is only so much I can take. Anyway… she knows this Lee guy personally, apparently he loved her performance in Funny Girl and they have stayed in touch ever since."

"That's great, San! When do you meet him then?"

"Next week. Rachel will come with me to the meeting, to back me up when I pitch him my proposal. She thinks that her presence will make him more receptive... I hope that she won't embarrass me! And I will just have to pray for him to be interested in my project…" I sigh.

"I'm sure he will be! This Glee TV show is an awesome idea!"

"An awesome idea that already got rejected by two other producers, Britt."

"I know but you can't give up... Mr Schue warned you that this would be difficult. Besides you know what they say: third time's the charm!" She sing-songs.

I really hope she's right… I care so much about this project and I have not even got the chance to go through with it yet. It's so damn frustrating. But for now I can't even think about that because I'm too pissed about James. Obviously it's written all over my face because Brittany suddenly tells me: "You don't have to worry about James, honey. What do you think is going to happen exactly? I love you, I married you. I'm not going anywhere!"

I can't answer because I suddenly feel tears in my eyes. Oh my God… am I actually crying? FUCKING HORMONES!

"Baby… why are you crying?" she asks, worried.

"I… huh…" I just sigh, resigned to the fact that I have no control over my crazy mood swings today.

"Hormones?" she asks with a smile.

"Yeah, sorry…" I reply, a bit embarrassed.

She kisses my lips and hugs me, caressing my back. Our embrace is interrupted by my phone beeping.

FROM "ABUELA": Santana, what about "Concepción"?

I roll my eyes as I read the text.

"What is it?" Brittany asks.

"Abuela" I sigh.

"Ah… More religious Spanish baby names?" she asks with a chuckle.

"Of course, what else? Do you know that she sends me one of those every two days now! Is she seriously thinking that we're going to name our baby Concepción ?!" I raise my arms in disbelief.
