Kai POV: Sometimes I wonder if people like to mess with us for the fun of it.

Someone had given us a tip that some criminals were going to try and do something to the bridge, but now it was three in the morning. And nothing has happened.

I turned on my com and said, "Are we sure that something is going to happen?"

"Supposedly… but maybe it was a prank call." Lloyd answered.

"Did they say what time?" Nya asked.

"Midnight." Zane said.

"Then, either they changed their minds…" Cole said

"Or it was a prank call." Now I was irritated.

"Let's just patrol the area. If we don't find anything we'll call it a night." We all agreed.

I was near the entrance and found next to nothing. Other than a couple of people hanging around the edge. But nothing more besides that. I was about to turn back, but I got a sudden chill. Like someone was behind me.

But just as I felt it someone grabbed me and covered my mouth. I tried to struggle, but I was getting dizzy… I fought the darkness… but it took me like a storm…

Lloyd POV: After clearing the bridge I met with the others at the Bounty, but for some reason Kai wasn't there yet.

"He isn't responding on coms." Nya said, clearly nervous about this.

"I'm sure he's fine. He's probably stopping a robbery to make-up for tonight."Jay said, with a big smile.

She smiled too, as Pixel called on the main screen.

Zane perked up and answered, but she immediately said, "Where are you guys?!"

"On the Bounty, what's wrong?" I asked, confused.

"There's two men running to the museum, and they have Kai!"

The second she said that we immediately took off. We already had everything, so we didn't have to wait. We sprinted towards the museum, with Pixel joining us in the Samurai X suit soon after. Right as we got there I could see them with Kai slung under one of their shoulders, unconscious and tied up.

We sneaked inside, trying to get the upper hand on them, and left the suit outside as well.

"How did they get him?" Nya whispered.

"They had to surprise him, there's no way Kai would let this happen without contacting us." Cole answered, slowly pulling out his weapon.

I didn't even want to think about how they did that.

We got to a closed-off section and peaked inside. One of them was messing with a large stone gate, the other one was guarding the tied-up Kai. He was waking up, but he seemed to be out of it still.

Nya jumped out and tackled the guard. He froze as he blocked and the other turned in shock. We raced out as well, but the guard pushed Nya back and stood in front of Kai.

"You're outnumbered and overpowered. You have no chance unless you give him back." I said, trying not to sound angry. Cause now I can see a hand-shaped bruise on Kai's face.

They didn't say anything, just standing there with their bow staff. But then one of them ran to the gate. Jay reacted first and tried to stop them. Tackling them after they pushed in a stone, and that caused a mass of clear blue energy to explode and start to swirl.

It blinded us, but I shook it off. Just in time to see the guard pick up Kai, who was now struggling weakly.

"Hey!" I yelled, charging.

But he just bolted to his friend. Cole and Zane tried to use their elements to slow them down. And he fell over, with Kai landing right in front. He slowly got up, but he was still tied up.

Me and Nya quickly ran up to him and untied him. He was still a little out of it.

"What…happened?" He asked, putting a hand to his head once he was freed.

"You don't remember?" Nya asked, helping him up.

But before he could answer there was a giant flash. It knocked us back. Though I quickly got back up, and saw Kai.

There was a third man with only a hood over the top of his face that had a thick line of chain, and it was wrapped around Kai. He was struggling, but it looked really strong.

"No!" Nya yelled, charged right for them.

However, he just smirked at her, launching a second chain. It tied around her and the pole behind her. And he jumped into the swirling vortex.

The last thing I saw before a white swallowed everything was Kai's eyes. He was shocked.

And don't know if it was the fact we didn't save him.

I moaned and slowly opened my eyes, finding myself staring at a white ceiling. I don't understand, where am I?

"Lloyd? Are you awake?" someone asked.

I turned to see Mom sitting in a chair, and she looked relieved.

"Thank goodness you're awake. I've been worried sick." She has tears in her eyes.

"What do you mean?" Now I was more confused.

"You have been in a coma-like state for the last two weeks. After what happened at the museum, everyone's been concerned.

The museum? Ah!

"Kai! Where is he! Is he okay?!" I sat up fast, but groaned and fell back.

"Lloyd…"

"He's gone… isn't he?" I felt more miserable.

He has done so much for me… He gave me my destiny and a purpose. He trained and pushed me, and that made me stronger.

How…

"Lloyd, that gate was a portal." mom said, like she was stating a fact.

That made me stare at her, shocked.

"The others that can move and Wu are working on finding out where he is. And you can join them soon. But you have to get better first. For Kai." She held my hand gently.

Because she was right.

Don't worry Kai, once I get back on my feet we'll get you back. And this won't happen again.
