Note: Gilmore Girls is a WB/CW show that was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Rory Gilmore had been going to college for years. As to be expected, she got some of the best grades of all time. She had been doing great in every class. However, she had been so busy with her studies that she often didn't have time for other things. She had missed a couple of proms. Rory figured that missing prom wasn't that big of a deal, but her mother thought it was important that she went to one of her college proms. Rory agreed to go to a prom if she finished all of her work and continued getting great grades. Also, she didn't have much money for prom, so Lorelai agreed to buy Rory an outfit for the prom.

A week before the prom, Rory met up with Lorelai at Luke's Diner. Rory hadn't seen her mother in a couple of weeks, so she was very happy to see her. After sharing a bunch of hugs, Rory and Lorelai sat at the counter. Lorelai had a large box with her that contained Rory's new outfit. Rory hadn't yet seen the dress, so she was eager to see what it looked like.

Luke Danes walked up to Rory and Lorelai, while saying, "I'm guessing that both of you want coffee."

Lorelai gleefully replied, "You're a smart man, Luke."

While Luke poured the coffee, Rory looked at Lorelai and said, "I usually don't care for these types of events, but I have this weird feeling that prom might be fine."

Suddenly, Lorelai started looking concerned. She put her hand on her chin, while asking, "The prom's coming up?"

Rory said, "It's next week." She pointed at Lorelai's box, while saying, "I was assuming that my prom dress was in there."

Lorelai started feeling ashamed and embarrassed, while saying, "Rory, I'm afraid that I made a big mistake."

Rory asked, "What do you mean?"

Lorelai started shaking her hands around, while saying, "Things have been so busy at the inn that I've been making a lot of mistakes. I confused Michel's tie for a room key."

Rory raised an eyebrow, while replying, "That sounds pretty weird, but what does that have to do with the prom?"

Lorelai explained, "I remembered that you had an important event coming up, but I thought it was a Halloween party."

Rory replied, "A Halloween party? It's May."

Lorelai said, "I know, but people keep celebrating Holidays months in advance. I thought that your college was doing that."

Rory replied, "But I said that it was a prom."

Lorelai put her head down and facepalmed, while saying, "I know, but I mixed everything up. I feel like an untrustworthy mess."

Suddenly, Taylor Doose walked into the diner. He walked up to Lorelai and Rory, while having a smile on his face. Lorelai and Rory weren't used to seeing him smile, so they both looked surprised. Taylor said, "I have good news."

Luke whispered, "I doubt it."

Taylor had an offended look on his face, while saying, "Excuse me?"

Luke said, "Whenever you have a piece of news, it's usually something that you want to whine about."

Taylor proudly said, "I don't whine about stuff. What I do is find important issues that need to be taken care of." Luke rolled his eyes.

Rory asked, "What's the good news?"

Taylor explained, "I've been hired to be a chaperone at your prom."

Luke said, "That's not good news."

Taylor asked, "Why do you think that?"

Luke said, "Because you're not going to let anybody have any fun. You're so strict that you'll probably give detentions to any student that kisses their prom date."

Taylor said, "I do have to admit that I don't think that people under the age of thirty should kiss, but I will not be ruining anyone's night. I'm just going to make sure that nobody does anything dangerous or stupid."

Lorelai replied, "Well, I don't see anything wrong with that."

Taylor looked at Lorelai and said, "I'm glad you feel that way, because the prom needs another chaperone."

Lorelai replied, "Then I'll be a chaperone."

Luke handed some coffee to Lorelai and Rory, while saying, "Taylor will probably try to ruin the prom, so it's good that you'll be there. I hope it's not too boring for you."

Lorelai quickly drank her coffee and jumped up. She put her hands on her hips, while saying, "I'm going to be the life of the party. I already know what songs I'm going to have played at the prom."

Luke said, "Oh, no."

Rory asked, "What's wrong?"

Luke explained, "While you've been gone, Lorelai won't stop singing the songs from some Filipino Batman musical."

Rory said, "Really?"

Luke explained, "I've lost a dozen customers, because Lorelai wouldn't stop singing the songs in the middle of the diner. All of that superhero stuff is a bunch of nonsense."

Lorelai defensively replied, "You can't complain about superhero nonsense."

Luke asked, "Why?"

Lorelai said, "Because when Rory said that she liked Logan, you thought that she was talking about Wolverine."

Luke replied, "That was an easy mistake to make, because everybody thinks that Wolverine's handsome."

Rory looked at Lorelai, while saying, "So, you got me a Halloween costume?"

Lorelai nervously replied, "I'm afraid so. I'm not sure what we're supposed to do."

Rory asked, "Can I see what it looks like?"

Lorelai grabbed the box and opened the box. Inside of the box was a Vampirina costume. Lorelai grabbed the costume and handed it to Rory, while saying, "Emily could probably get you a real dress, but she'd probably nag my head off about my stupid costume. I'm so sorry, Rory."

Rory lightly smiled, while replying, "You know what? It's okay. I don't want to cause another fight between you and Grandma, so I'll wear the costume."

Lorelai replied, "I don't want you to have to embarrass yourself in front of all of your classmates, because I made a dumb mistake."

Rory said, "I'm not embarrassed. You have unconventional taste, but that's one of the reasons why I love you."

Lorelai smiled and replied, "You're the best daughter in the whole world."

Suddenly, Paris Geller stepped into the diner. Paris hardly ever visited the diner, so Lorelai and Rory were both surprised to see her. Rory was about to say hi to Paris, but before she could, Paris set a bouquet of golf clubs on Rory's lap and walked away.

Rory raised her eyebrows, while saying, "That was one of the most random things to ever happen to me."

Taylor stared at the golf clubs, while saying, "These look pretty valuable. I'd recommend going to a pawn shop and selling them."

Lorelai looked at Rory, while asking, "Do you have any idea why Paris would give you a bouquet of golf clubs?" Rory shook her head.

The next morning, Rory was at her college. She started walking around the hallway of the college, while hoping that she could get a chance to talk to Paris. She still felt baffled by the golf clubs, so she wanted Paris to explain herself.

Suddenly, Dean Forester, who was dressed like a biker, started riding a motorcycle in the hallway. He drove by Rory's locker, while having a smug smile on his face. He said, "Hi, Rory."

Rory looked completely confused, while asking, "What the heck are you doing?"

Dean said, "I bought a motorcycle."

Rory folded her arms, while saying, "That's something I didn't expect, but that's not the thing that truly baffles me. Why are you driving your motorcycle in the hallway?"

Dean said, "I think you know why."

Rory replied, "I really don't know what you're doing. If you don't want me to think that you're being reckless and weird, I'm going to need a proper explanation. Also, you need to turn that motorcycle off."

After Dean turned off the motorcycle, he looked at Rory and said, "I know you well, Rory. I know that you liked me, but I also knew that you thought that I was too much of a softie. You liked Jess. That's why I'm trying to be more like him. I drove this motorcycle around the hallway to get your attention. I was hoping that you would go to prom with me."

Rory said, "Dean, I did like Jess, but that wasn't because he did such impulsive, foolish things."

Dean replied, "You think I'm being foolish?"

Rory said, "Frankly, I do."

Dean pointed to himself, while saying, "I got these biker clothes, so that I would look more appealing to you. I was willing to change my entire sense of fashion for you."

Rory replied, "You might have had good intentions, but it's not okay for you to ride your motorcycle in the college."

Dean said, "I know that I'm probably going to get a bunch of detentions, but before I do, I have to ask you to the prom."

Rory replied, "I'm sorry, but after how you acted, I can't go to the prom with you."

A moment later, Jess Mariano started walking by. He was wearing a clown costume that was white with pink dots and included a pair of giant shoes. He put on a red nose and smiled at Rory, while saying, "Hi, Rory."

Rory asked, "What's going on?!"

Jess casually said, "I borrowed a clown costume from the costume shop."

Rory asked, "Why?"

Jess replied, "You should know why."

Rory responded, "I don't know why."

Jess said, "In the past, you rejected me. I can't believe that you would do something like that." He pointed at Dean, while saying, "Instead of flirting with me, you decided to flirt with him. This guy's a clown, so I figured that you would like me more if I started dressing up like a clown."

Rory said, "That's stupid."

Jess replied, "This isn't stupid. If anything, I look like the hunkiest clown in the world."

Dean angrily stared at Jess, while saying, "When you said that you borrowed a clown costume, I didn't believe you. I'm betting that you stole the costume."

Jess replied, "I plan on returning it, so it's no big deal."

Dean pointed at Jess, while saying, "You've gone too far."

Jess replied, "You think that I'm the one that's gone too far? You drove a motorcycle in the hallway."

Dean said, "That's because I was trying to be like you."

Jess sarcastically replied, "That's so sweet of you. So, are you going to ask me out?"

Dean said, "I would never ask you out, but I would be willing to punch your daylights out."

Dean and Jess started getting their fists ready, so Rory said, "Both of you need to knock this off. I know that you both are smitten with me, but that doesn't give you an excuse to act like reckless fools."

Jess looked at Rory, while saying, "You know what? I didn't get a chance to ask you out. Will you go to the prom with me?"

Rory answered, "No way."

Dean started doing a victory dance. Jess was so mad that he threw a pack of playing cards to the ground. Dean slipped on the cards and fell down. After Dean got up, he grabbed his motorcycle helmet and tried to throw it at Jess. However, the helmet bumped into Rory and made Rory drop her history book. Dean nervously said, "Rory, I'm so sorry."

Rory picked up her book and said, "I want both of you to leave me alone."

Rory quickly walked up to Paris's locker. Paris turned around and saw Rory. Before Paris could get a chance to say anything, Rory said, "Both Dean and Jess are putting me through a lot of stress. I don't want to go to prom with either one of them. I want to go with somebody more normal and respect. Believe it or not, you fit both of those qualifications. Will you go to the prom with me?"

Paris felt a bit flustered, but she shyly said, "Sure."

Rory replied, "Thanks, Paris. By the way, I won't be wearing a normal dress to the prom. I know you like things to be extra fancy, but you'll have to deal with me wearing something that's pretty weird."

Paris responded, "Um, okay."

Meanwhile, Dean and Jess angrily stared at each other. They wanted to get into a fight, but they figured that would make the situation worse. Dean offered Jess a handshake. When Jess didn't accept the handshake, Dean sighed and said, "We don't have to be friends, but we should probably stop fighting over Rory."

Jess replied, "I suppose that would be for the best."

Suddenly, Tristin Dugray started walking by, while dressed up as Paris. He even wore a wig. He looked amused by Dean and Jess's outfits, while saying, "What an interesting fashion show."

Dean said, "Lay off on the insults, Tristin."

Jess looked at Tristin, while asking, "What's up with your outfit?"

Tristin explained, "I want to go to the prom with Rory. I know that she likes Paris, so I decided to dress up with her."

Dean said, "That doesn't make any sense."

Tristin said, "Jess might be the only one that's wearing a clown costume, but both of you guys have been acting like clowns. She's no longer interested in the two of you. She only has eyes for Paris, but since Paris is so uptight and hard to talk to, Rory has never gotten a chance to ask her out. Since Rory can't together with the real Paris, I'll act like Paris for her." Dean and Jess rolled their eyes.
