Chapter one:

Thunder booms outside as a storm rages on. It's winds blowing the curtains of an open window further into the room. Lightning flashes once more illuminating a figure standing over a bed.

The figure places a rag over someone's mouth and nose, who is sleeping in the bed. After a few moments the rag is removed and stuffed in a pocket. Said figure then grabs the one who is for sure not going to wake up from this now. Said figure turns and manages to exit out the window as more lightning and thunder happen.

A little while later Hikaru blinks his eyes open as the cold has woken him up. He happens to notice that he doesn't see Kaoru. He brushes it off as Kaoru simply being in the bathroom or something. He raises his head realizing that the window is open. He can see the storm still going on outside though it looks to be close to ending. He wonders if they had left it open by mistake. He gets up going over to close it. He pauses as he notices something.

A ladder is up leading to the window.

Hikaru gets a bad feeling in his gut. He rushes to the bathroom to try to see if his brother is there.

Nothing.

Hikaru hurries to the kitchen wondering if maybe Kaoru wanted some water. He finds no one. He starts to feel dizzy in panic at this. He almost feel like the ground is opening up to swallow him like this is all some sort of nightmare. He wants it to just be a nightmare. He doesn't want this to be any kind of reality. He wants Kaoru to be just somewhere and safe. He just can't shake the feeling that something is truly wrong about this whole thing. He turns as a maid comes in looking kind of thirsty. "I can't find Kaoru!" He tells her in a panic.

"Young master maybe he is walking around the mansion." The maid offers dipping her head to Hikaru.

"Our window was open and there's a ladder leading to it." Hikaru adds which really grabs her attention.

The maid looks really concerned. She races away and soon enough the alarm sounds.

Security rushes to where the alarm was started and Hikaru can hear the maid explain.

After hearing what Hikaru told her the security rush away to investigate.

Hikaru stands there heart pounding as he hopes that Kaoru is find.

The maid comes back to him to stand with him. She backs away when his parents rush in.

"Mom! Dad!" Hikaru almost wants to cry to them. "I think someone took Kaoru! Our window was open and there's a ladder! I can't find him!" He is quickly embraced by the two as he lets himself cry to them.

Indeed Kaoru isn't found and the twins parents are pissed that someone would do this.

"I'll contact the police." The twins mother mentions and pulls out her phone explaining the situation to the operator.

It isn't long before police and investigators are checking all over.

The family is sitting in the living room with one investigator.

Hikaru explains all that he knows to them while his parents have an arm around him each.

"We'll find him." The investigator promises to Hikaru. "We have everyone notified to look out for anything even in the city."

Hikaru hopes that they're right. He tries to figure out what in the world the kidnapper could want with Kaoru. He hopes that it's nothing more than ransom. He doesn't want to even think of the worst reasons that Kaoru had been taken.

Elsewhere...

When Kaoru blinks awake he has a headache, and it takes a moment for his brain to catch up that he doesn't know this place. He sits up quickly only to groan at his aching head.

"You're finally up."

Kaoru turns to see a boy and a girl around the same age as him. He doesn't recognize them though.

They are both wearing clothes that are clearly old and worn. Their hair seems to be messily cut, as if done by someone who doesn't know what they're doing. They also have some bruises and defeated looks.

Kaoru glances around to try to get a better idea of his surroundings.

It looks like some kind of concrete basement that has no windows. It has a light bulb on the ceiling to light up the room. The bathroom is merely a toilet in the corner with a small sink. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to store anything as it is pretty bare. There is some chains attached to the wall on one side. Other than that the main thing is the three ratty mattresses laying on the floor.

Kaoru realizes he's sitting on one of the three ratty mattresses. He looks back to the other two. "What in the world is going on here?"

"Welcome to a world of hell." The girl responds simply looking sad.

Kaoru swallows harshly wondering what in the world he's just been thrown into. He knows based on the other two that he isn't going to like this one bit.

The boy decides to take things from there to try to help Kaoru understand a bit better. "There's a guy that comes down to feed us or for whatever reason he thinks is good enough." He explains while Kaoru listens. "Word of advice just do what he says. He will kill or even exact harsh punishments if you don't. For the sake of your life just be obedient. I mean it." His scared and traumatized eyes look pleading to Kaoru for him to do whatever their kidnapper says. "There is no way out of here. We can't just escape. We would have if there was a way."

Kaoru looks down feeling scared about what in the world is going to happen to him.

The girl seems to take pity on him as he has just been thrown into this whole thing. "What is your name?"

"Kaoru." Kaoru admits slightly glancing back to the two.

"It is nice to meet you. My name is Mai and this is Akio." The girl gestures to the boy. She has light brown almost dark blonde hair that reach her shoulders with messy looking bangs, green eyes, and is wearing a black t-shirt with a pair of black basketball shorts.

The boy, Akio, has black hair and brown eyes. He is wearing a dark grey t-shirt with black basketball shorts as well.

Kaoru knows that he doesn't have his cellphone since it was charging last time he saw it. He glances down finding a dark blue t-shirt and the same basketball shorts. He looks back to the two. "It is nice to meet you both." He greets back and just hopes that someone will find him soon. He doesn't really want to be stuck staying here. Plus he wants the other two to be able to get out of here as well.
