AN: so i have been reading a lot of dimension travel, time travel fics and stuff like that, i wished to see something more and couldn't find it, so i decided to pen down what I had in mind.
Anyways regarding this story, it is inspired by a lot of stories so you might see some refrences or some similarities, but don't worry it will move in completely another direction. There will be no slash. Haven't really decided on pairings. Though lemme know if you wanna see something.
Also, i am really sorry for Corvus Sirius Black, i just got too busy with life and lost all the will to complete it.
Anyways I hope you like it, and support me as much as you did for my old stories.
Summary: Harry has always been thrusted into a life which he never wanted to live, all he wanted was to be a normal boy with a loving family, what if Harry is given a chance to actually have his dream. How will Harry grow if he doesn't have to deal with dark lords, death eaters and constant threat to his life. What if he used all his worth to learn magic, and just have fun. AU, Non BWL Harry, Neutral Potters.
He just couldn't be bothered today, practically dragging his feet, Harry Potter, The saviour, The hope, The Lightbringer, the most revered wizard since the great Albus Dumbledore moved towards the coat hanger near the door to his office as he took the last sip from the glass of firewhisky.
Donning the ragged looking coat, Harry looked towards the mirror on the far wall and a sigh escaped his lips and he checked his appearance. 'I look worse than Remus after a full moon' he thought as he scratched his beard while walking out of the office to only see the hallway mostly empty.
Harry didn't know if he should consider this a blessing or not, as he had started staying in his office for longer hours at the ministry just to avoid as many people as he could. Pulling out the half empty bottle of Odgen's finest from the left pocket of his over coat, he started walking towards the elevator which would take him towards the department of mysteries.
Arriving at his location, Harry was greeted by the majestic sight of the Veil, with The high arch, the curtainy aura and the whispers of the dead. He concentrated and let his magic flow towards the Veil, searching for the one particular voice among the thousands, but like every year harry could not hear his voice.
'today was the day' he thought with a bitter smile and he sat upon a rock, placing the bottle and conjuring 2 glasses on the small rock in front of him. He then poured the burning liquid in both the glasses before taking a huge swig from the bottle itself. He looked around and could not help but see Bellatrix cursing her cousin and Sirius' body being absorbed by the Veil. The whole moment was still etched in his memory and all he could do was take another swig and cruse the name Bellatrix.
His hazy mind drifted towards how it had all gone to shite. Defeating voldemort and his death eaters had been easy, hunting for horcruxes had been easy. Dying and coming back to life had been easy, but Harry was not at all prepared for what came next.
Wizarding world as a whole had decided that Harry Potter was the best damn thing that had happened to the world since flying brooms. And wizarding Britain had been one step further treating him like a god amongst men.
Harry always thought offing Voldemort would be last thing he needed to worry about and then he can finally live a normal life, but it had made Harry's life more miserable. At first he had enjoyed the celebration and important figures in the world going out of their way to make his life easier. He like this fame as it was due to something he did and could remember.
It was getting pretty ridiculous, once Harry had offhandedly commented how he did not want to be auror anymore, and would instead prefer study the higher mysteries, or play quidditch. Suddenly every team in the world wanted to sign him, the worst part was all they wanted him to do was smile at the camera wearing their jersey.
The biggest shock was when he recieved the invitation from Athens Magical Research Institute to be a fellow in their prestigious institution. He normally would have jumped with joy, at the opportunity, but he never even had any NEWTs to his name!
Soon he realised all those favor wasn't for free, he realised nobody actually cared for him or wasn't even thankful, every person, institution, agency and even country had their own agenda to profit themselves, and the world as a whole realised the quickest way would be through THE Harry Potter. Harry learnt the hard way, that world is a cruel place.
This just wasn't his cup of tea, adult life hit him hard, and he was not at all prepared for it. He realised his friends from school had become just a passing memory as Harry was forced to move to the upper echelons of the society. Every action was to be taken carefully, every word he spoke had to be well thought out, but Harry had always adjusted, he had adjusted when he was treated like a house elf, he had adjusted to new hidden world, he had adjusted to being a child hero, and he had adjusted to being a pariah.
It had been a slow process, but Harry learnt, he adjusted, he smiled, he talked to the right people and by the age of 25, he was one of the most richest, and politically powerful man in the world. Harry had everything, money, fame, power, he could literally get any woman he wanted, he could practically topple the government if he wanted.
Being the youngest ever deputy Minister of Magic had all but assured his position in coming years. He still couldn't believe his closest ally was actually Draco Malfoy, but Harry had realised that his beliefs on blood purity, and muggleborns only looked good on papers and real wealth and power was actually with the old families and people with money.
Over the years he had become estranged to his friends, all of them had their lives to live, and Harry had been very busy first few years, over the time his mentality changed, he grew out of his certain quirks and the problem with his friends were they still viewed him as their Harry from school.
Harry had tried pursuing relationships, but he soon realised all he wanted out of it was a good shag, and so he had started bedding anyone who was willing and there were plenty. Harry had thought just maybe he would atleast defy some of the stereotypes for him, but again his bedtime adventures were just attributed to him being son and godson of James Potter and Sirius Black respectively.
The only real contentment he could find these days was in a nicely aged whisky, his one contant companion. People told him that, this is not what his parents would have wanted for him, but when he really thought about it, indulging in some alcohol was the only descision he made for himself, every other thing was just shoved down his throat.
But there was one thing that the great Harry Potter never had- HAPPINESS.
A sad smile graced his lips as he remembered the reason he was here this evening, and found himself lost in the small amount of memories he had of his Godfather. Sirius Black was the only family he ever had, sure the weasley's have always treated him like one of their own, but it was all due to his friendship with his youngest son. Sirius was different, he was HIS Godfather and the only parental figure he had ever known. The only person who actually cared for his happiness. Harry still remembered the summer he spent with him, where he could be carefree, laugh without the care in the world and be a normal teenager without the pressure of being a messiah.
No adult in his life had actually let him be a child save for Sirius and Molly, now that he thinks about it, Voldemort should never have been his job, but every adult was content of letting him deal with the problem, except these two, only Sirius and Molly actually raised concern over him battling with Voldemort, and now both of them were gone.
Harry shook all these thoughts from his head and decided to do what he came here to do, and that was to share a drink with his beloved Godfather. He stumbled a bit as he got up from where he was sitting, with two glasses filled with the firewhisky, before finding his balance, 'better not pass out here' he thought as he remembered the stupified expression on department staff when they found him passed out drunk on the floor last year.
"Sirius, I hope you are causing mischief wherever you are, of course you would, you are a marauder afterall" Harry slurred as he raised one glass toward the Veil, spoiling some of the liquid on the floor, he continued "I hope you found peace Sirius, you were the only father that I knew, imma get my bitch pregnant and i will be a better you"
'I should stop listening to those muggle songs' thought Harry with a scoff.
"I have always craved for normalcy, a loving family, and a chance to be just a normal kid, and you provided it to me, no matter how less of a time we spend together, it's still very close to my heart. I love you padfoot" a lone tear slipped from his eyes as he threw one glass in the Veil and drank the other in one massive gulp. Immediately feeling the light headedness, he felt his vision blur for a second as the burning liquid went down his throat.
'I am always with you harry' he froze as he heard the voice he have been craving to hear for all those years.
Harry froze as he looked at the hazy spectre of his smiling Godfather in the Veil, he raised a trembling hand towards the Veil "Sirius, is that really you?" He asked as he took a step forward, only to slip on the wet floor and fall towards the shadowy high arch.
He was falling towards the Veil, and all he could see was his smiling Godfather. Resigning to his fate, Harry closed his eyes, and felt incredible amount of pain as he fell flat on a carpeted floor.
It took a second to realise what had happened and looked around to see a big living room.
"Where the fuck am I?" He tried to remember this place and how he ended up here, last thing he remembered was Veil of Death.
"Hadrian James Potter! How dare you use that crass language in this house, I should spank your bottom for that" Harry heard a woman shout as he looked at the far end of the room to see who it was.
"Narcissa? What are you doing here? And how do you look so young?"
He heard the now identified Lady Malfoy gasped "You dare call your mother by her name! And are you trying to call me old? Your Godfather must have put you up to it. I am gonna curse him to next life"
Harry felt something moving on his lips, he touched his upper lip to see blood trailing out of his nose when suddenly he was bombarded with the worst headache he ever experienced. He suddenly fell toward as he clutched his head.
"James! James! Come quickly, something happened to Hadrian" Harry looked up to see Narcissa running towards him with a frantic look on her face.
Suddenly a door to the other side of the room opened, and Harry saw his father running towards him with a wand in his hand.
The last thing Harry remembered before losing his consciousness was Narcissa holding his head in her hand as his father rushed towards him.
That's it for prologue, next chapters will be longer.
