Jasmine fumbled to the bathroom. She felt weak and motivated at the same time. Motivated to make it to the toilet. Her legs felt as if they would buckle underneath her. As if her feet would give up. She quickly swung open the door and fumbled to the toilet. Once in front she collapsed and grasped the sides. Then without a moment to spare all of the little food she had eaten that morning made its way up and out. Though it wasn't much, she was able to purge out enough to satisfy her. Even if it wasn't much to the naked eye. She didn't care however, she just wanted it all out. The feeling of something in her stomach made her feel guilty. Like it was better to be empty rather than full. Time felt like it had stopped. Jasmine didn't know how long she had been on the floor but eventually she would stop. She stayed on the floor for a minute catching her breath. The more she breathed, the more she would cough. It felt like her chest was being pushed upon or her lungs would go out. However it wasn't a new feeling. She had felt like this the past few nights. The cold, sad lonely nights spent alone. There she would wake up at some odd hour of the night. It would either be caused by an extreme headache or a shortness of breath. As the worse it got the more she wanted to die. To let the pain be over. But she wouldn't, and so for the next hour or so she would toss and turn in her bed. Pulling her hair and hugging pillows to ease the agony. On nights she was short of breath every minute felt like an hour. An hour of gasping for air. Jasmine recalled one night where she was without oxygen for so long that she passed out. The following day she would be woken up by a disappointed Aladdin and father. She didn't know which was worse. All she knew is that in both cases she would be all alone. No tiger to alert anyone and no body to comfort her. It was sad, but it had gone on for so long that she was used to it. Besides, she knew she would survive. She always did, much to her sadness.

Jasmine felt so light headed that she felt as if she would pass out any moment. She knew that if she stayed any longer that she would most likely fall asleep. After a deep breath Jasmine grabbed onto the side of the marble counter. Then in a swift motion she raised herself up. However the body wasn't strong enough. She tried grabbing onto the sink faucet but it wasn't enough. The princess collapsed. She had used up all her strength vomiting that she had nothing left to get herself up and head back to bed. Even though she felt like she was going to pass out she managed to prop herself up against the counter. As she sat there tears began to form from her tired eyes. No matter how fast she whipped them away more would come. Eventually she gave up and began to cry. This too wasn't a new feeling. It would happen everytime she had to eat something. Or just anytime someone would talk to her. At this point she could have cried the whole ocean as far as she knew.

Suddenly Jasmine was hit by a giant wave of painful stomach growls. It felt like it was just burning, asking, begging for food. But whenever she would try to eat, nothing would stay down for long. The fact that all she needed to do was eat to get better broke her. At least that's what she'd been told by her friends and family. But she knew there was more than just eating. It was also gaining confidence and her happiness back. Two things she had little off. She had lost her confidence ever since her body had started to become skinnier. It also didn't help that most of her outfits were extremely revealing making it that her ribs were put on full display. Jasmine clutched and tugged on her nightgown (the only thing she truly felt comfortable wearing) as she felt a headache come on.

She looked at the clock, it was 2 am. Jasmine closed her eyes and tried to remember the times she was happy. Around 2 months ago she believed. Just then the door opened. She wished it was her father but instead Aladdin came through the door. He looked at her and then the toilet. Even through her blurred vision she could see the disappointment in Aladdin's face.

"Jas what did you do now?"

As much as she wanted to crawl into Aladdin's arms or even speak she couldn't. She was too weak. She heard as Aladdin walked up to her and knelt in front of her.

"Jasmine come on let's get you back to bed,"

Jasmine let out a moan. Aladdin looked inside the toilet and then her.

"Come on Jas let's go," Aladdin wrapped her arms around his body and picked her up off the floor.

"You've seem to have lost a few pounds these last few days," Aladdin told her. As Aladdin walked out of the bathroom and to her bed he listened to her breathing. They were short and spaced apart. He stopped in the moonlight and looked over at her. He noticed that her once voluminous hair was now lifeless and tangled. It also started to fall out in some places. Her once olive soft skin was now pale and rough. Her lips were cracked and body was cold. But what broke him the most was her eyes. Before they had a sparkle to them and he could get lost in them for hours at time. Now they were red, puffy, and filled with exhaustion. Anytime he would look into them all he saw was pain and sadness.

"Are you doing ok?"

Jasmine didn't respond. What she wanted was to enjoy the moment with Aladdin. Earlier this morning he recalled him trying to get her to eat. It was a moment full of tears, yelling, and food throwing. Eventually it ended with him walking out on her and slamming the door.

"Jasmine?"

Jasmine opened her eyes weakly and looked up at him.

"Jasmine, I'm worried for you. You've eaten nothing in the past few days and your breathing seems off. We should get you to a doctor-"

"WHAT no!" she croaked, "I promise I'll eat later."

"Jasmine, you said that last time. I can't keep letting you off with warnings,"

Jasmine lowered her head and then began to cry into his chest.

"Jasmine, come on. I know you're scared of the feeding tube but it's going to be ok,"

"NO IT'S NOT!" she cried.

Jasmine recalled the time in the doctor's office where they inserted the tube. She had to be held down by Aladdin and her father (two people she loved dearly) as the doctor shoved a tube down her esophagus. Even though it had happened twice before, the sheer pain of a tube being forced down her body was something she would never get used to. Her cries and screams would forever haunt herself and those next to her.

"Jasmine?"

She didn't respond.

"Babe come on please,"

"What are you doing up so late?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Up late talking to your father. I went to check up on you and noticed you weren't in bed,"

Jasmine let out a soft cry which was followed by tears.

"Hey Al Abu's up. He had a nightmare and he needs you," Iago said, flying toward him, "what's up with her?"

"She's been having a rough night. Think we might need to get her checked out,"

As he said that Jasmine let out a loud moan.

"Sorry babe but you have to,"

"Oh well then Jas. I wish you better health. See you soon Aladdin," Iago said, flying away.

Aladdin walked Jasmine over to her bed and set her down. He tucked her into the covers and then kissed her on the cheek.

"Stay…" she begged.

"I need to go comfort Abu,"

"Genie can do it,"

"He wants me Jas,"

"I want you to!" she cried. She felt tears from.

"Jasmine it'll be ok,"

"No! I want you Aladdin. I need comfort to,"

"Jasmine I can't be in two places at once."

"Well I need you more,"

"Jasmine,"

"I'm the one who just threw up,"

"That was your choice. Now I need to go-"

"NO!" she screamed. Jasmine sat up and grabbed onto Aladdin's arms.

"Jasmine on! Let go!"

"NO! I need you now! You can't just leave me alone again!"

"Jasmine, stop it!"

"NO!"

"Then at least get father for me,"

"He needs his rest, now please let me go comfort Abu,"

"You care more about Abu than your fiance-"

"ABU IS MY BEST FRIEND. He has a place in my heart that you never will. He's been with me longer than you have and knows me better than anyone! Including you. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm putting Abu first than you but even if Abu didn't have a nightmare I wouldn't be sleeping with you in your urine filled bed!"

He pulled back from Jasmine's grasps and backed away, only to step on something. Abu screeched out loud and held his tail.

"Oh Abu I'm so sorry bud. Are you ok?"

Aladdin picked up Abu and exclaimed his tail.

"Oh I'm sorry I had no idea you were there. Is your tail ok?"

"Uh huh," Abu nodded.

"Do you need an ice pack?" Abu shook his head.

"That's good. Let's go snuggle,"

As Jasmine watched, a sudden anger washed over her. She just threw up and could barely get off the floor and he's going to go comfort a monkey!?

"Aladdin!?" she asked.

"What?"

"You're really just going to leave me again?"

"Jasmine you're just jealous that I'm putting Abu first than you,"

"Yeah I guess I am and I think I have every right to do so!"

"Stop it!"

"No! I can't believe you- you- I just can't believe you!"

Without saying another word Aladdin turned his back and then began to walk out of the room.

"Aladdin please stay!"

"Jasmine leave me alone,"

"Please…"

Jasmine then lunged forward and grabbed onto Abu's tail. Abu screeched out loud and jumped out of Aladdin's arms.

"Jasmine what has gotten into you!" Aladdin asked angrily.

"What has gotten into you! If this was before you would just stay with me,"

"Well times have changed. And me? What about you! What's gotten into you?"

"I've been having a hard time recently and you aren't helping,"

"Neither are you! You think that this is only hurting yourself. Well princess I will tell you that it's been hurting your friends, your father, and ME!"

"I just wanted you to sleep with me,"

"Well you started it!"

"YA!" Abu screeched.

"Abu shut up! I don't want to see you!" Jasmine scolded the monkey.

Abu punched in front of her and then spat in her face followed by him sticking his tongue out at her. Jasmine, offended, pushed him away and faced Aladdin. However, Aladdin was full of anger now.

"He deserved-"

"NO! No he didn't!"

"He spat in my face!"

"Because you told him to shut up!"

"No-"

"Jasmine I'm done! I'm done fighting."

"NO!"

"Yes!"

"Ugh…"

"You should be asleep anyway,"

"I would be-"

"Jasmine I'm done arguing,"

"But-"

"I'm done!" he cried before he slapped her. Jasmine held her face shocked for a moment. Even Aladdin was shocked, had his anger really drove him to slapping Jasmine? But that was the least of his concern. He had finally gotten her to stop crying and that's all that mattered.

"Come on Abu let's go,"

Abu looked at Jasmine who was now soft crying and then followed Aladdin.

"Please don't…" she begged.

Aladdin didn't respond and just continued to walk away.

"NO Please! I don't wanna be alone… Aladdin stop! Stop it. No don't leave please I'm sorry. Aladdin GET BACK HERE! Aladdin! NOOOOO!" She cried to herself, and somewhat to Aladdin.

After Aladdin had walked out he slammed the door and then walked away. Jasmine was left alone once more. Alone with her thoughts. She had wished that it would have ended differently. But her jealousy and neediness for just any comfort caused her to lash out on Aladdin, and Abu. She didn't mean to. She loved Abu and thought he deserved just as much as she had. And she loved Aladdin. She knew he loved her back as well. It was just hard when the one you loved all of a sudden shut down and was on the brink of death. The thought broke her and soon she was crying yet again. All she wanted was for someone to comfort her through this hard time.

Jasmine laid back down in her bed and pulled up the sheets. The silk sheets that were now soaked in throw up and piss. At times she would be so passed out that she wouldn't even wake up when she started to pee. Next thing she knew she was being scolded by everyone and made to feel like a complete joke. It hurt. It hurt being in pain, it hurt to see her family call her a lost cause, it hurt to think the people of Agrabah hated her, and it hurt to see herself. It just hurt and at times she wanted to die. Yes she would miss Aladdin and her friends. Of course it hurt to miss out on ruling over Agrabah. But what could a weak 79 pound princess do? What could she do? She hadn't shown up to any political meetings and she had so much to catch up on. The only reason she wanted to keep going was because of the thought that one day everything would be fixed. At least that's what she would tell anyone who asked. But deep down she would tell herself that her mother would be disappointed in her. She wondered what her mother was thinking of her. Was she disappointed, sad, empathetic? Oh how she wished her mother was there to comfort her. She knew that out of everyone she would be the first to stand up for her daughter and hold her.

"Jasmine?" a scratchy voice called.

The red bird flew into her room and landed near her head. He looked at the princess who was wrapped in blankets. Iago examined her face and noticed that her cheek bones seemed to be protruding more.

"Jas what's wrong? I heard you screaming bloody murder,"

"Nothing… I was just having a hard night." she mumbled.

"I know you better than that," Iago told her as she fluttered onto her head.

"Iago… please just leave me alone…"

"Come on Jas I'm here for you,"

"I know… thanks,"

"Thanks for what?"

"Thanks for always being here for me. Since the very beginning when I was born," she croaked.

"Anytime princess,"

As Iago watched her stomach move up and down, thoughts of him and her flooded his mind. He remembered the times where he lied to Jafar just so he could watch Jasmine and at times play with her. He even took the blame for her after the two accidentally knocked over a pot once.

"Iago you need to leave," Aladdin said as he walked into the room,"

"What why?"

"She needs her rest and wants to be alone,"

"No, I want him here," she said, opening her eyes.

"Why do you want him here and not me?" he asked, confused.

"Well I-"

"Iago, please leave her alone. I need to clean up the vomit mess and track her food intake,"

"I had nothing today," she told him sitting up.

"Aladdin please I'm not hurting her anyway. Unlike you who would rather spend time with a monkey than your dying girlfriend!"Iago scolded him.

"OF COURSE I CARE ABOUT HER! ABU JUST NEEDED ME!"

"No you didn't want to sleep in a piss soaked bed with her when you could have easily carried her to another room,"

"Abu had a nightmare and how do you know about the pee bed?"

"Because I overheard you! I was listening to you the entire time because surprise you're not being a supporting husband,"

"Iago please-"

"Jasmine, stay out of this!" Aladdin yelled at her.

Jasmine shut her mouth and watched as the two went back and forth. She felt scared but happy that at least someone was looking after her.

"Why don't you mind your own business and not listen onto people,"

"I was doing it because I care about Jasmine. And it's kind of hard when you're screaming at the top of your lungs! " Iago confessed.

Aladdin stood shocked for a second before rage hit him, "Well it's not my fault someone threw up,"

"Well it is your fault you're a bad husband and I bet now's a good time to know that we decided to talk to a therapist about your actions!"

"Wait what? You went behind my back and talked bad about me to a stranger! How long has this been going on?"

"Ever since I caught you trying to shove food in her mouth,"

"Iago you're just like you were before! Spying on people against their will. You know maybe you're just as bad as Jas,"

Iago's mouth dropped open and his eyes filled with tears. Iago looked at Aladdin one last time before sucking up his tears and flew away.

"ALADDIN HOW COULD YOU!"

"How could you go behind my back and get my friends against me? You got them to make me look like a fool. And you said you had no friends…"

"I DIDN'T KNOW!? I would never do anything like that. I still love you. Even when you yell and me and call me a loss cause,"

"Jasmine, you're a terrible liar. Don't think I would fall for that,"

"Aladdin please! I didn't do anything! I've been in bed the last few days barely able to move! How could-"

"ENOUGH! This is all your fault! Your pain, your weight loss, everything. It's all you! I hate you and I wish we never met!" he screamed in her face before leaving the room.

It took Jasmine a full minute before she processed what happened. Next thing she knew she was sobbing uncontrollably. She couldn't believe Aladdin. She had known him for almost 3 years and never in a million years did she think Aladdin would tell her such things. As much as it hurt what he said she knew deep in her heart that he was right. It was her fault.

Everything was perfect. She had the perfect family, she was financially stable, and she had a bright future in front of her. But one seemingly ordinary day something changed. She didn't know what but she started out of nowhere eyeing the hand maids and other girls around her age. She would take note of their stature and curves. She would look at them and then ridicule herself for not being as thin as they were. But looking back at herself now she knew that those were just foolish thoughts. She knew that she was pretty, everyone told her that. But after her restrictions were lifted and she was able to go out she saw other girls her age.

She took note of what they had and she didn't. Including their bodies. She hated to admit it but one of her past times would be people watching from her balcony. It was one of the only things she could do when she was confined. Though it wasn't until she got up close she would examine their bodies. It also didn't help that her responsibilities of being a princess were now becoming more and more. She was being constantly pressured by her family and even the people of Agrabah to do better. At first it was simply tips and comments but they became personal whenever they would mention about her fiance who had had no prior knowledge of what it's like to run a kingdom. Even worse because her father was always busy she would usually be the one to teach him which only put more pressure on herself to do better. Sure there were others out there but he never understood them and they would just get angry at him. Aladdin even admitted that he would dread lessons and only liked them if she was teaching them. From that day she was the one to lecture him. But a constant thought of Aladdin doing something wrong remained in her mind. If he did something wrong she would have to take the blame since she was the one who would teach him.

Since she would stay up late to prepare the lessons she would get little sleep and had barely any free time to herself. The princess was always busy teaching or running around doing princess duties. Which meant that most of the time her friends and family would have fun without her. So to keep herself entertained she would watch the citizens. It also didn't help that she had to in order to complete examinations and inspect them.

The constant work and pressure depleted the princess and soon she found herself in a saddened state. One where she constantly thought she wasn't doing enough. She found herself taking up chore after chore in order to prove to herself that she was doing enough. If she finished her list she would run around and take up more chores, if that meant skipping meals. That did mean however that she put off basic needs and faced burn out a lot. For one she stopped showering as often and skipped meals. Anytime she would eat the thought of "You don't deserve that," ran through her mind. She would watch people work twice as hard as she did and not get paid enough. So what made her special, why did she get food while they didn't. So one time she went to the bathroom after dinner and purged up the food. It was an awful feeling at first. It was her first time and she thought she would suffocate. But after the adrenaline had worn off she felt good about herself. Jasmine made it a promise though to only do like 1 every other week. It would be just like a fix, nothing special. But soon one every other week turned into once a week. Then once every other day, then once everyday and soon she found herself spiraling out of control. Jasmine hadn't even noticed how much she was throwing up until she noticed one day her cheeks seemed swollen and her nails seemed more fine.

It wasn't long until one day Aladdin walked in on her. She was scared and startled at first but soon came up with the excuse that it was a stomach flu. At the sound of hearing this Aladdin informed the doctor and she was given some natural medicine and spices to help with her stomach. While she liked the attention from Aladdin she knew that in reality she wasn't sick with the stomach flu rather she was purging. But she didn't tell Aladdin that it was her secret, even though it hurt not to tell him. However nothing could prepare her for when she was told to talk a week off. During the week she was constantly feeling like she was usually and that she needed to get out there. Jasmine just wanted to work again. She needed a list so bad and to just get out of bed.

After the week it was as if nothing had happened and soon the princess was back to purging over and over. She started a food journal and began to track how many times she had purged. The most she had done was 7. It was draining emotionally and physically. She found herself not as excited or eager to work anymore. During her lessons she would get confused and easily disoriented. However, that was not the worst. Jasmine had begun to lose weight, and quickly. She noticed that her hair was starting to fall out and her arms and legs became more boney. Scared of people seeing her Jasmine would wear long sleeves and coats to hide her boney arms. This of course was noticed by her peers and when they would ask she would just tell them that she was cold. Which was true.

The next couple of weeks seemed like a blur and Jasmine found herself spiraling out of control. She was purging more often and missing her work. She found herself weak and tracking less food in her journal. Her hobby of people watching had increased which caused her to only shame her body more. Worst of all she found herself sleeping alone and crying herself to sleep. Her mental health and self confidence had dropped dangerously low. Jasmine would imagine herself at the tip of a sword ready to fall any moment. And that moment happened when Aladdin walked in on her naked. Aladdin was taken back to her state. She was like a walking skeleton with bones protruding head to toe. The moment he saw her it was like everything came crashing down for her. Soon Jasmine was being admitted to the hospital and being put on special diets. They had tried to ask her what happened but she just couldn't explain it. It just would end in tears.

The next month was chaos. It would be filled with screaming, hatred, hospital visits, and more. It was one of her darkest times. She would be admitted to the hospital multiple times for either pain or shortness of breath. It was also the time where she would have the feeding tube first put into her body. She would never forget the feeling and the things that happened in the hospital. The nurses and doctors were impatient with her and tried to force her to eat food. She would throw up constantly there and worse her family rarely visited. When they did it would just be a simple hug and kiss and then she would fall asleep.

In the hospital they also started her on physical therapy since she found it hard to walk most of the time. Though she didn't make it far since she would collapse due to pure exhaustion. She knew she could walk, she just needed more energy. They would also every few days take out her feeding tube only to replace it once again. As much as Jasmine tried to prepare the pain was just too much and she would erupt in tears and screams. The bed's were a whole other topic. They were stiff, uncomfortable, and hard. It made her back hurt majorly which didn't help with her physical therapy. She remembered a time when she woke up to her back hurting out of all things. It only made her miss her room even more and though the staff tried it was just too much and the princess grew homesick. She wouldn't eat or talk to people for days on end at times. The only way she would open up slightly is when her family was there, but other than that it wasn't much. It was a horrible life. One where she was existing rather than living. One where she was her worst enemy. One where she would die a slow, painful, lonely death.
