Preparing for a Trip
Amity Park, Minnesota. 6:40 pm
At Fenton Works, Jack and Maddie Fenton are packing their belongings, mostly their ghost weapons, in preparation for a "family trip" they are leaving for tomorrow morning. Jack has his suitcase so packed that he can't close it, no matter how many times he slams the lid down.
"Uh, Maddie? If you would?"
Maddie walks over to Jack and grabs the lid before slamming it down as hard as she can. It stays.
"Thanks hon. Kids! You all packed yet?"
"Almost!" Their eldest daughter Jazz says packing her belongings.
This includes her clothes, a brochure on Japanese tourist sites, binoculars, a Japanese-English translation booklet she was going to brush up on the plane ride, and a Kimono.
She is far more excited for this trip than her brother Danny, secretly the ghost-boy superhero of Amity Park, who is packing his clothes in a more annoyed manner.
"Can someone remind me why we are flying all the way to Japan again?" Danny asks. "I mean sure we were planning to go on this trip before but that was when we were loaded. We're back to being poor again."
Danny and his family had been given an insane amount of money from the Guys in White (which admittedly went to his head) for the Fenton ghost-portal (and of course they were probably too dumb to build one themselves). Danny thought that it was fine since he put a password lock on the portal, but later on Sam screamed his ear off for making the password something as simple as "Open sesame" and that if the Guys in White weren't so mental they would have figured it out before Tucker accidentally told them (though not as much when she found out that he kept the replacement robots he made of them, before promptly destroying them). But his parents ended up giving back the money realizing it "wasn't them". At first Danny considered that a good thing because the Guys in White were planning to launch a missile into the ghost zone that they thought would have destroyed the whole thing, and because Sam and Tucker deduced that destroying one dimensional plane causes the other (earth) to be destroyed too. But after they told Jazz about it they confirmed that the missile wouldn't have caused that much damage had it gone off in the zone anyways. First of all the ghost zone is infinite so destroying the whole zone would be impossible (again, a miscalculation by the GiW's stupidity as they thought the Zone was a actual small zone), and it was just one missile so the blast wouldn't have been large enough to destroy a city anyways. At most Danny just saved some of his enemies' door-lairs. And they still attacked him afterwards. Though on the plus side, it traumatized the dorks in white enough that they gave up ghost hunting.
"This isn't a vacation Danny, this is a ghost hunting adventure!" Jack says boastfully.
"Again, why do I have to go? So I can be embarrassed in a different country?"
Maddie enters Danny's room with a series of pictures featuring giant skeletons attacking travelers, large red and blue demonic creatures attacking people with iron clubs, crow-like humanoids and women in snow fields freezing men solid with a kiss.
"Danny, for centuries Japan has been the spot for countless sightings of Yokai, or Japanese ghosts. They come in many different shapes and forms including the demonic Oni, the crow-like Karasutengu, the seductive and cold-hearted Yuki-Onna, among others." She tells her son. "Now, some say that these are folklore and superstitions…"
Jack then comes in with a Fenton Works gadget.
"But with the Fenton finder we'll be able to find these yoke-ghosts and catch em!"
"Besides Danny," Jazz says entering the room. "Japan is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's full of rich culture, historical significance and beautiful valleys of peach trees."
"Cursed pools that supposedly turn you into an animal or a girl if you fall into them." Danny says, showing Jazz the page he found on his phone.
"Danny that is in China."
"What?" Danny looks at the page again. "Oh, so it is. Anyways, this would be so much more tolerable if my friends could come but Sam is grounded after that protest gone wrong last week and Tucker refuses to go someplace where they prioritize fish over "real meat"."
Jack smiles and walks over to his son.
"You know Danny, there isn't just ghosts in Japan." Jack says handing him a flier. "I hear there are also superheroes in Japan too. Here's a group I think you would like."
Danny takes the flier and reads it. His eyes widen, it is about a group called the Sailor Guardians. They are all attractive women his age, with a name after a celestial body, in VERY short mini skirts. Danny's eyes trail down their long legs as they pose. But his main focus is on the tallest one. He found her the most attractive out of all of them, auburn hair in a long pointed tail, beautiful green eyes, cute face, slightly muscular arms and he could tell that they could kick butt if needed.
"Is this a movie?" Danny asks.
"Nope! They are a legitimate superhero group of female fighters. They operate in a town called Juban. Maybe we can visit there during our trip."
"IM IN!" Danny shouts immediately and returns to packing his things, now more excited.
Jazz sighs.
"Teenage hormones."
Once she leaves and they are sure Danny can't hear them, Maddie whispers to her husband.
"Jack, we're not going to Juban."
"I know, but it will get the boy excited so we can have some good old Fenton-Family ghost hunting activities. He'll be thanking us when the Fenton name goes down in history as the people who've proven the existence of egg-yoke ghosts!"
"Yokai, Jack."
"Gesundheit."
Maddie sighs at her husband's stupidity.

Meanwhile, in Tomobiki, Japan. 8:40 am.
The school bell at Tomobiki High rings.
A teenage boy named Ataru Moroboshi, 17 years old, brown hair, perverted by nature, notices that the seat next to him is completely empty.
This surprised him as normally that seat is occupied by Lum. That, in Ataru's words, is an annoying alien-Oni girl that insists that she's his wife and ruins his girl-chasing. Yet at the same time, he can't live without her, not that he would admit to that. Sure, he knew she had to go back to her parents for something. Something she didn't share with him, but he figured she would be back by now.
Another boy his age approaches him. It is Shutaro Mendo. Heir to one of the richest families in Tomobiki and Ataru's arch rival.
"Moroboshi, Is miss Lum absent?" He asks him.
"She went back to her folks house." Ataru says nonchalant.
This did not sit well with Mendo. It was no secret he has a "crush" on Lum. He naturally flirted with every beautiful girl he sees (inside he was just as lecherous as Ataru but unlike him the girls flocked to Mendo for his looks and shallow charm) but Lum, being a gorgeous alien PRINCESS made her the ultimate prize in his mind. And, as far as he was concerned (and usually right) whenever something bad happened to Lum it was usually Ataru's fault. He drew his katana and swung it Ataru. Who caught it between his hands. A trick he had picked up since their first meeting.
"You bastard! What'd you do to her?"
They hear a rumbling noise outside and everyone becomes startled. All the students look out the window and see the sky darkening.
"A cloud!?" Someone asks.
They then see something emerging from it.
"Somethings commin'!"
Their shock turns to confusion however when the first thing they see is black pigs. They then see that the pigs are pulling a chariot in the sky. At the helm is a dark skinned figure draped in black robes. It is almost intimidating.
And then the figure tries flying his chariot into the classroom through the open window. Only to hit his head on the top rim.
Moments later this strange guy was brought to nurse Sukara. A drop-dead gorgeous dark-haired woman. She asks the group of students beside the unconscious guy with the ice pack on his forehead.
"Who is this guy?"
"Dunno."
Anime's referenced: "Ranma 1/2" and "Sailor Moon"
Notes: Danny's attraction to Sailor Jupiter is a reference to one of my favorite fan fictions "Danny and Makoto" by NeoMark which is a spin-off of FlowerPrincess11's fanfiction "The Many Dates of Danny Fenton". I was also inspired to write this fic from both authors' works.
Danny Phantom timeline takes place after "Livin Large" but before "Boxed up Fury."
I added that part about the GIW because, let's be honest, the ghost zone is infinite so even if their missile had gone inside the ghost zone it wouldn't have destroyed the entire dimension. And especially not with just one missile.
