James Potter was sitting in a pub, getting a drink while waiting for his friend, Sirius Black.
Unfortunately, he found himself stuck in the highway, due to a misfunction from his 'modified' motorbike.
So, James Potter decided to have another beer, followed by another, and another…
Eventually, he was joined by a blonde man, who also wanted a drink.
Feeling a sprout of Gryffindor bravery, James decided to start a conversation with that man, and they decided to drink together…
Sometime later…
"So, what are you doing here James? What dragged you into this pub?"
"Well, I was supposed to celebrate my son's birth! After several painful hours little Harry was born last week, and I didn't have a chance to go out until now!"
"Congratulations man! I was planning on celebrating my daughter's birth as well! My little Daphne… She is barely a three months old, and she is already causing trouble!"
"Already a troublemaker? You will have your hands full with her in the future Robert!" James exclaimed.
"Yes I will… And whoever marries her will have a handful as well… I do hope she will be able to pick a nice gentleman though. Merlin knows morals are no longer taught properly…"
"I know Robert, I know… This damned war, all of these deaths… If my father were here to see it, he would find a way to end it within a week…"
"Don't fret about it James. Right now we can only hope the best, for us and our children…"
"Our children, yes… You were worried about your daughter's suitors… To be honest, Lily has been worried about any 'bints' going after our son… She thinks he is too handsome for his own good…"
They both ordered another drink, before James began speaking again:
"Since we are both concerned *BURP*about our children, maybe we should do something about it…"
"What do you *BURP* exactly mean?"
"We should set them up of course! If they marry each other, we don't need to worry about them involving themselves with morons!"
"That must be the most brilliant idea I've heard in a while James!"
They decided to start negotiating terms for a contract right there and then. They even signed it at the end of the night. Just after that, a copy was sent to each of their vaults, and the Goblins were now on it as well…
2nd of November, 1981 Greengrass Residence
"ROBERT GREENGRASS, YOU BETTER COME DOWN THIS INSTANT!"
Said man was very pale, and was fearing for his life.
"What is wrong dear? Our daughters making life difficult again?"
"Not at all. More like my husband doing things behind my back!"
Robert was now struggling. What did he do? "Can you remind me what I did wrong dear?"
"Remind you? REMIND YOU? DID YOU NOT REMEMBER ARRANGING A MARRIAGE BETWEEN YOUR ELDEST DAUGHTER AND THE POTTER BOY?"
Oh no. OH NO. HE ACTUALLY DID THAT.
"You see dear, I didn't remember doing that… I had a few drinks that night, you see?"
"YOU DID THAT WHEN YOU WERE DRUNK? WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING? OUR POOR DAUGHTER?"
"I am sorry dear, I don't know what I was thinking…" He was now pleading for his life, scared of his wife's temper.
"YOU WERE NOT THINKING." She yelled. "But you will start working on it now! The Potters have been killed, but the kid is still alive. You will bring the kid here, so we can make sure he grows up as a nice gentleman for our daughter!"
Robert Greengrass knew when an order was important. And this one was vital for his survival. But it was not over though.
"And make sure to bring him here soon. Because every day that he is not here, is a day you will sleep on the couch!"
This was a serious statement. The couch was extremely uncomfortable, and it was also cold and lonely… He would need to find young Harry soon…
