"The Gift" - A Kirishima Birthday Oneshot
Hearing his alarm go off on the desk across his bed, Kirishima's eyes slowly opened in a daze as he awakens, and a tired smile spread across his face. He sluggishly sits up, eyeing the one calendar on the wall beside him, looking under October and its past few weeks already been crossed out and marked, at the end of the third week, one of the days was circled in a red marker pen. The word 'birthday' was written in massive words besides an exclamation mark.
"Only one more day to go," Kirishima muttered to himself. He then grabbed a black marker pen off of his nightstand before crossing out yesterday's date on the calendar.
A few weeks prior, after rescuing the young girl, Eri, from the villain Overhaul, life at the UA school continued. Kirishima and his class 1-A started to make plans for their stage performance for the school festival, while some students harassed them in their efforts to make up for their previous events that involved the League of Villains attacks. He also sadly attended Sir Nighteye's funeral, who died during Eri's rescue along with his friends Deku, Uraraka, and Asui, who later on all had their internships postponed till further notice.
Since then, Kirishima spent most of his spare time training and taking many make-up classes; to catch up before they could contribute their time fully to helping their classmates with their band performance. However, even now when during rehearsals and make-up classes leading up to the festival, Kirishima hoped to celebrate his birthday with Bakugou. (I don't know if the events that I've listed were in chronicle order, but bear with it pls)
His boyfriend. Although Kirishima wasn't always timid about how he felt about himself and others, when it came to Bakugou, it was as if he was someone he would at times be nervous around. He didn't know what he particularly liked about Bakugou at first, but as they grew closer as friends, Kirishima saw that there was more to his hot-headed buddy than he had first initially thought. He only began to realise that after he and the others saved Bakugou in Yokohama after being kidnapped by the League. When grasping his hand and desperate not to let him go again, Kirishima knew that his feelings for him were something more meaningful than seeing him as just a friend.
Later on, it was maybe a week before the Shie Hassaika mission took place. During the night, Kirishima couldn't sleep because of thoughts invading his head, like Deku and the rest, worried about the small helpless girl they needed to save. He failed to get any sleep and was tired throughout the whole day. Though he kept trying his best to perform in class, thinking everyone didn't notice his exhaustion during class training. However, he was surprised when Bakugou came to his room later that same day when classes were over.
He demanded an answer to why he was acting tired and weird. Although Kirishima tried to assure him that he and the others were alright, the tired and on-edge expression on his face didn't convince Bakugou for a second. In the end, while too exhausted to resist, Kirishima finally allowed Bakugou into his room. Seating him next to him on the edge of his bed, Kirishima reluctantly told him what had been going on, though not revealing too much of the mission, but gave him a brief rundown of what he and the others had learned.
Without even meaning to, as he got more comfortable, Kirishima openly expresses the stress and worry he had been under for weeks about when he was called by the pros. Bakugou listened in silence while sitting next to him, not saying anything, even as Deku's name was mentioned numerous times and the fact he was part of the mission. Emotions that built up over the past weeks of waiting for the call quickly resurfaced to fill tears in his eyes. Kirishima confided in him, confessing that he was scared and if it was too late to save the young girl, or if he would be of use to the team with the strength of his hardening quirk to let Fat Gum down. "— and if I don't come back, I wouldn't get the chance to say that I like you! I—" It was when he realised how careless he was while listening to his own words and forgetting that Bakugou was the one hearing, the words he didn't fully intend to say suddenly slipped out of his mouth. Kirishima froze and his breath stopped while the beating of his heart sped as the silence fell between them, and the air grow thick with tension.
He couldn't look Bakugou in the face or see his expression as his eyes stared down straight onto the floor, embarrassed to look, and for a long while, feeling like forever, neither of them said a word. As time slowly ticked away in silence, Bakugou was the first to make a move. Without saying anything, he got up off the bed and left the room, leaving a conflicted and anxious Kirishima, alone and speechless with himself.
It was not until the next day, Kirishima saw Bakugou in class again. Although he seemed to act like his brooding self, every time Kirishima made eye contact with Bakugou, the blonde would look away from him with a deadpan expression. Kirishima didn't dare to talk with him, as he was afraid of how he would reply to his abrupt confession, and for the rest of the day didn't try to approach him. Later that night, he, Deku, Uraraka and Asui, had finally got the long-awaited message for the rescue mission and left the dorms in the early hours of the following day.
A week after the mission and after recovering in the hospital, they all were finally able to head back to the dorm rooms and back to the company of their class, and later on in the evening, as he entered the hallway to his room, Kirishima stopped midways to see Bakugou. Leaning against the wall next to his dorm room with arms crossed over his chest, and had a frowned expression on his face and looked as though he had waited for him. Kirishima let him into his room, and they both sat next to each other side by side on the bed.
Kirishima immediately felt the awkward tension in the room and shuddered as his heart pounded heavily against his chest, and he lowered his head to the floor with a sore stiffness in his body. Though nervous of him, Kirishima had prepared himself to be let down again like last time. He inhaled a deep breath to ready himself for a blunt and brutal rejection. However, he was surprised by what words came from Bakugou's mouth as he turned to look at him with a soft and gentle gaze.
"You wanna start going out?"
Kirishima didn't know how to respond. Numerous thoughts flooded his mind, thinking that this was unbelievable and he was just tired from the recovery time in the hospital. Was this happening? Is he asking me out? He was at a loss for words. Does he feel bad about what happened last time? Was he trying to make me feel better by doing this?
However, whilst stuck conflicted on his thoughts, Kirishima flinched as he felt a sudden light grasp on his hand that brought him back. Looking down at his knee where it lay, he saw it being grasped by Bakugou's large hand. As his eyes slowly travelled up, he met with a calm and patient gaze that waited for him to answer. His eyes told Kirishima he wasn't dreaming and what he was hearing was very real. Grasping the hold of Bakugou's hand with his, tears ran down Kirishima's face as he felt a cool wave wash over his chest, making it seem lighter. "…Yeah."
Since then, they started dating in secret. Of course, Bakugou wasn't adamant about letting everyone know about their relationship, not that he would ever really care, but when being around their classmates, they would act non-intimate with each other. Nevertheless, whatever got the chance to be alone together in either of their rooms, there would be moments while studying when they would hold hands, and sometimes (if in a good mood/better than usual), Bakugou would allow Kirishima to kiss him while sitting next to him ideally still. To Kirishima, it was not as if he minded keeping their relationship a secret. However, whenever he tried to act overly friendly towards him in class, Bakugou would seem to distance himself from his side, but only seemed to be close until they were alone in their rooms.
As he finished changing into his uniform, Kirishima grabbed his bag lying beside his desk and checked the time on his phone before walking out the door. Only taking two steps to his left, he was in front of Bakugou's doors.
While knocking, Kirishima calls to him. "Hey Bakugou, you up yet?"
There came no answer. He waited for a reply, but none came after waiting.
That was odd. Usually, whenever Kirishima came out of his room in the morning, Bakugou at most times would meet him while walking down the hall while sometimes he would knock on his door to hear Bakugou a loud yell telling him that he would be out. Kirishima's expression dimmed as still no reply came still, even as he knocked a third time while waiting.
He called out to him again, though his voice lowered down and concerned as he didn't hear any movement from inside, "Bakugou?"
"Morning Kirishima," Suddenly startled by a familiar voice, Kirishima turned his head to see his second neighbour, Shoji opening his room door. His bag slings over his body and in their school uniform as though ready to head to class.
"Morning," Kirishima politely greeted him back.
"You waiting for Bakugou?" Shoji then asked, noticing his friend's expression. His smile lessens a little as he looks at the door of Bakugou's room.
"Yeah," Kirishima answered admittedly, his voice sounding a little embarrassed as he scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "He's not answering, so maybe he left a little early."
"Bakugou went out half an hour ago," Shoji told him, which makes Kirishima's expression widen and baffled. Though thinking it was strange, Kirishima thought that maybe Bakugou would have been trying to get in some solo training before his remedial class with Todoroki while especially with his licensing exam not too far away.
"I guess that sounds about right." Kirishima agrees and says this to himself, though a little disappointed, brushing off the thought and thinking anything of it. He starts to leave Bakugou's door and followed Shoji as they make their way down to the main entrance and off to the main building.
While waiting for Aizawa to start class, Kirishima talked with Sero and Kaminari in their seats and all the while glancing back and forth to the door. It had nearly been half an hour per usual since he came in with Shoji, and as students were slowly arriving, Kirishima couldn't keep his eye off the door to wait for Bakugou to walk in. At around the time, before class would start, he would've already been at his desk while most likely, keeping to himself. So where was he? Kirishima started to feel a little concerned about his absence, but he couldn't help feeling antsy to see him.
"… Kirishima," Without realising it, Kirishima had blanked out into thought and was only staring at the door. Sero waves a hand in front of his face to grab his attention.
"You alright, man?" Kaminari asked as he too noticed Kirishima's distracted and absent expression.
"Yeah, sorry," he apologised awkwardly. "What were you saying?"
He then repeated, his head cocking to the side as if to check he was still paying attention. "I was just saying that I hear your birthday is tomorrow, right?"
"Oh, yes, it is." Kirishima proudly replied with a forced grin.
"WHAT!?" From behind Kaminari and Sero sitting only a few seats at Uraraka's desk overhearing the conversation, Mina whirls her head in their direction. Followed by their invisible classmate, Haru, they approached the boys with wide and surprised expressions as if they couldn't believe what they were hearing. Slamming both her hands on top of Kirishima's desk, Mina looks at them with mad eyes. "Wait a minute, how come I didn't hear anything about this?"
"You just did, didn't you?" Kirishima heard Tokoyami retort this from behind his chair with a cough. He starts to realise that the rest of the class who heard Mina's cries were now looking at them. He felt his cheeks slightly flush, but he held onto his embarrassment.
Kaminari looked at his pink friend cluelessly before he and Sero's eyes widened in disbelief as if, for a moment, they realised she was not joking around. Sero spoke in, "Kirishima told us while we were up all night studying in the lounge last week, remember?"
He thought back on it, although Kirishima did remember, that while doing their homework aside from Yaoyorozu (who was tutoring at the time), Mina had fallen asleep. Meaning that aside from them, most of nearly everyone in class already knew.
As Kirishima caught Mina's expression suddenly change as if she had just realised that too. "You could've given me a heads up, you know," she said this to Kaminari as if her not knowing was his fault. "Don't leave important things like this till the last minute!"
"It's your fault for not paying attention when he told us," Kaminari told her sternly, but she just shrugged it off while crossing her arms over her chest and looking away.
She shrugged, her face pouting as if pretending to be mad. This made Kirishima let out a small smile, since knowing Mina for so long since middle school, it never bored him of how much she stayed the same over-the-top and eccentric girl she was back then.
"So Kirishima, are you planning to go somewhere exciting?" Jiro then piped in asking, as she and Yaoyorozu beside her approached his desk.
"Not really," Kirishima replied, not sounding awkward to admit it. "It's hard finding any cheap places to go nowadays, but I thought that maybe I could spend the day training with Bakugou."
That was short of a lie. For Kirishima, he planned to spend his birthday with Bakugou, after the teachers allowed the students to go off-campus, and give him the opportunity for them to go on a real date. Though Kirishima still didn't get the chance to ask Bakugou, he was waiting to ask him sometime today after he found him not in his room earlier that morning.
Sero and Kaminari looked almost stunned when he said this, though of course, they didn't know about his date plans, and they were a little hurt that Kirishima only asked Bakugou and not have them along come along to train with them too. However, before they could comment on when he didn't ask them to join, Haru interrupted them. "That's no fun!" her voice sounding disappointed as her arms gestured down sadly.
"I agree," Yaoyorozu adds, agreeing. "Although you're very dedicated to your training, it's best to take a day to cool down, especially if it's your birthday." Kirishima felt almost guilty for lying, but smiled at her though, at the same time tried to hold back wanting to reveal himself.
"Then maybe…" Haru's voice trailed, as though trying to think aloud. However, before she could come up with anything, Mina suddenly grabbed hold of her shoulders over her arm and pulled her back away without a word. The group watches them speed walk towards the back of the classroom next to Uraraka's desk, her eyes sparkling like fairy lights as she ushered Haru.
She looked back to Yaoyorozu and Jiro, having her hand at them as if beckoning them to call. They looked at her and the group strangely before walking over. They saw Mina whispering, a wide cheeky smirk on her face, and immediately the girls around her glanced in their direction again before turning back as they started whispering more excitedly to each other.
"What's was that about?" Sero then whispered, leaning into the group as if making sure the girls didn't hear him.
"I don't know," Kaminari said back, whispering as he did while looking over at them with a suspicious glance. "but honestly, with her, she should be planning to end the world or something." True. Kirishima thought to himself, as he and the guys who were close to their pink friend already know, that with a smile like she was wearing right now, there was something she was scheming.
As Sero and Kaminari started talking amongst themselves about what the girls could be planning, Kirishima had a second to look over his phone. He opened his messenger and sent a quick text to Bakugou, 'Where r you?' He pressed send.
Letting out a sigh, he waited a few minutes for his response but to no reply. Though Kirishima knew that he was probably worried over nothing, he couldn't help himself from being curious about where Bakugou was, or if he was already down at the gym training and lost track of time. He looked to the door again and spotted two familiar faces entering the classroom.
Kirishima abruptly stands up out of his seat, startling his friends as he calls out to them. "Yo, Midoriya! Ida!" Waving his arm over Sero and Kaminari, Kirishima started to leave the duo and quickly walked towards the pair.
"Good morning Kirishima," Ida both greeted him, next to him Midoriya smiled in greeting. "Morning."
Kirishima stopped in front of them and started to ask though for some reason sounding nervous about his question being heard. "Um, have you guys seen Bakugou on your way here?"
"Huh, Kacchan?" Deku looked at him with a startled look as his smile faltered into a trembling smile at the mention of his childhood friend. "Did he not come into the class yet?"
As Kirishima explains, both Deku and Ida's faces turned more puzzled and their faces became uncertainly uneasy. Quickly noticing this, Kirishima felt that he was missing something they knew about, and he didn't.
"What?" He asked them as he took a few moments as he finished.
They both looked at each other as though they were deciding which one of them would speak first. It took a few moments before Ida spoke up. "Midoriya and I left the training gym half an hour ago," he explained with Deku nodding in agreement. "we haven't seen Bakugou all morning."
"Huh?" Stunned by his response, Kirishima looked at them speechless and confused. Deku continued, his voice a little hesitant as he noticed Kirishima's distressed expression. "We both woke up early to do training, but we haven't seen Bakugou all morning since we got there."
"…He wasn't at the gym?" Kirishima asked, his voice now sounding weakened as though he was unsure of himself and what he heard. Both Ida and Deku shook their heads together in unison, and Kirishima could feel his eyes drop as he didn't even try to hide the disappointment and utter confusion on his face. Questions swirled in his head Why? And if not the training room or class, where did he go? Where was he now?
"Yo, Bakugou!" As if the universe heard his thoughts, Sero's voice called over from Kirishima's desk, which startled him back to the present as he, Deku and Ida turned towards the door.
Walking in with his usual slouched posture and narrow glare, Bakugou had his head down to the phone clenched in one hand while carrying his bag by the strap over his shoulder in the other.
"Where have you been, man?" Kaminari was next to call over, though he talked with a mouthful as he was holding a phone cable between his teeth to power someone's phone. "It's already close to class time, and you just vanished into thin air."
Bakugou's gaze looked up from his phone, his brooding face vexed. He shot Kaminari a mean scornful glare as he yelled angrily, "That's none of your business Dunce Face!" Turning back to the front, his eyes met Kirishima's while Ida and Deku were in front of him. Just as Kirishima was about to wave his hand and greet him, without acknowledging either the two or him, Bakugou broodingly walked past the group, leaving the redhead dumbfounded and feeling a faint stabbing pain in his chest.
"Still feeling tired out from the Provisional License Course yesterday?" Kaminari went on as Bakugou was setting himself down in his seat while trying to ignore him. "Todoroki told us how you guys had to battle with a bunch of crazy strong primary kids. Bet they were stronger than you if even he had trouble with the kids."
A vein popped in Bakugou's forehead, his face turning into a scowl before he turned back to him. At his desk, he held onto the back of his chair in a monstrous grip. He yelled back, "Like hell I'm soft! Those little brats couldn't take me down even if they ganged it! If it were my choice, I would've blasted them!" At that response, Kaminari laughed but got nudged in the shoulder by Sero, warning him to shut up before he got blasted himself.
Bakugou sat at his desk, his eyes turned back on his phone screen. He didn't see Kirishima who stood baffled and didn't pay mind as Deku and Ida silently excused themselves and went to Uraraka, who flagged them over to her desk with Mina and Haru next to her grinning. Looking at him with a wavering stare, Kirishima's thoughts were still mixed and stranded from what he needed to know. From the look on his face, he knew instantly that Bakugou wasn't in the mood to talk, but Kirishima didn't want to wait for a better time. "Hey, Baku—"
However, before getting a chance to call out, as Bakugou raised his eye, Kirishima and the rest of the class heard Aizawa walking in from behind him. The teacher gave everyone a tiresome but stern glance as he started setting down some folders on his desk.
"Everyone, settle down," the teacher said, his tone boring aloud. "Homeroom session is about to start, so please take your seats." Everyone quickly returned to their desks.
Kirishima disappointedly followed suit. Stealing a final glance from the corner of his eye, he saw that beneath his desk Bakugou was still holding out his phone. His fingers quickly typed on the keys while letting out a quiet but audible annoyed grunt. He quickly turned it off and shoved it back in his pocket as he paid attention to Aizawa was starting class. It's weird. Kirishima thought to himself as he takes out his textbook, as he knew Bakugou wasn't someone who didn't use their phone like their classmates.
As the first couple of hours passed, every so often when he stole a few glances at Bakugou, Kirishima noticed him secretly checking his phone under his desk drawer whenever Mr Aizawa faced away from the class. Kirishima what was he checking his phone for while also thinking of where was he this morning. 'No, he's probably just busy,' he reasoned to himself, as he turned his attention back to his teacher. 'Maybe I'll get to talk to him later.'
However, when the first sessions of the class were over and everyone made their way to get lunch before Kirishima could call out to him, Bakugou was already out of the classroom and disappeared down the hallway. Kirishima thought to find him in the cafeteria, but he couldn't be seen anywhere around the seats or standing in the lines of students getting their meals.
It seemed as though Bakugou vanished until the second half of class began for hero training when he turned up again. Even when he was adamant about the chance, Kirishima had gotten too preoccupied with his endurance training with Cementoss, that neither he nor Bakugou got any time to talk.
When at last seeing Bakugou heading to the changing rooms when everyone had already left, Kirishima soon followed behind. He tried to reason that maybe this morning had to do with a private matter that he didn't want to talk about, or was training for his licensing exam. But then, what about the phone? Kirishima slowly started to consider and dread the possibility that maybe he was acting this way because of him. Of course, Bakugou must have dated girls in the past- in middle school, I guess- but maybe, the reason why Bakugou has been avoiding me was that he got tired... and was now seeing someone else?
'NO!' His quirk hardened on both of his hands as he slapped them both together against the sides of his face (which thankfully hardened as well), making a noise that resembled metal clashing with rocks. The sound rang through his ears, and he didn't feel any pain string on his cheeks as he slowly clenched up his hands, looking down at them furiously. 'Don't think like that! He wouldn't! Bakugou's not that kind of man.' Even as he told himself this, Kirishima felt his chest sting. Deactivating his hardening, Kirishima brushed off the thoughts as he started to quickly stride with faster steps to catch up to Bakugou.
It was as he approached the changing room door, the door was slightly opened ajar, letting some of the light inside crack out that Kirishima heard the familiar voice of Bakugou's grunts. Getting closer, he realised that he was talking to someone. He heard Bakugou's voice inside faintly and Kirishima leaned his back against the wall straining his ears to hear the voices next to the door.
"… Is it ready yet?" Bakugou's voice came into earshot as Kirishima still couldn't hear who else was in there with him. Pausing for a few moments of silence, he let out a heavy sigh before continuing, "I'm not coming out just for kicks, so do you have it or not?… So when will it?… She told me that you could fix the problem I'm having, right?… That is none of your business. Just make sure you remember what you said."
Kirishima realised that Bakugou was talking to someone on the phone, which was why his ears couldn't capture other voices inside. Kirishima held his breath to prevent a loud sigh from being heard, as he knew Bakugou had sharp hearing and would know that he was being listened in.
'Why am I even doing this then?' He wanted to put a hand over his head, but instead, he cringed at himself and rolled his eyes to the side gawky. 'I'm an idiot and ashamed as a man.' Though wanting to walk in and act normal pretending he heard nothing, for some reason Kirishima had a compelling feeling t just to stay where he was as curiosity got the better of his judgment. He didn't want to disturb the rest of the conversation he then heard Bakugou let out a loud sigh as he spoke again on the phone.
"…I'll be there," He heard him say, pausing for a moment as he listened to the receiver. "What?… Of course, I do…I won't, alright?… Tomorrow, I'll meet—" Kirishima heard Bakugou's voice abruptly stop as though he was interrupted. Feeling the blood in his body race, it was only a few seconds that Kirishima worried he had been discovered. He heard waited, hearing the faint muffling of the receiver's voice before Bakugou spoke again, only now it sounded more low and stern. "Sorry, I gotta go…." He hung up and then spoke loudly towards the door. "I know you're there. Come out before I blow you to bits!"
Kirishima could almost feel his heart jump against his ribs as his breath shook nervously. He knew he was caught. Taking in a deep breath for composure, he opens the door and pops his head into the space with a forced smile.
"Hey Katsuki," he greeted him awkwardly before standing upright and walking into the room. (Kirishima was allowed by Bakugou to call him by his first name when they were alone together.)
Bakugou stood by his locker while he finished changing into a black t-shirt and trousers. He looked a little taken aback but remained had a narrowed expression on his face. He quickly noticed Kirishima's smile, which didn't seem as wide and carefree as it usually was, so he raises an eye at him. "What's with you?" As his eyes look Kirishima up and down, he starts getting suspicious while slowly starts to notice the nervous aura around him.
Kirishima felt sweat on his skin as he wavers to answer right away and quickly made up an excuse, "I-I'm just tired out from today." He said hastily. "You know, that whole endurance strength training I was doing wiped me out. You know- trying to punch through a stone wall." He forces a small smile almost hurting the side of his mouth as he reaches up to his cheeks. The blonde teen looked at him up and down in disbelief but instead didn't question him further as he brushed off while continuing to gather his things.
Kirishima stood still for a moment, relieved with himself before slowly making his way to his locker behind him. Though curious about asking him about his phone call, he thought that maybe it was for the better not to tell Bakugou so it wouldn't haft to be more awkward. Kirishima changed into a simple white tank top and denim box short before he nervously attempted to make small talk with Bakugou.
"I-um didn't get a chance to talk to you at all today," Kirishima started, again forcing his mouth to smile after taking a small sip from his water bottle. "Seemed as though you kept disappearing into thin air." Kirishima swallowed a lump to clear his throat and cringed hearing his voice, knowing that his tone made him seem nervous. Bakugou replied with a grunt. Kirishima glanced at him, seeing his not paying attention to the discussion. Kirishima started to become antsy, but knowing he couldn't keep Bakugou in here forever to figure out what to say, had to speed things up.
"So… you weren't in your room this morning." Bakugou momentarily noticed his change of tone as his voice lowered to a timid utterance, however, didn't see the shift in Kirishima's eyes looking down at the floor pitifully. Kirishima paused for a moment but continued. "You were late to class, and I didn't get a chance to talk when you disappeared during the break."
"I got up early to do some training and I lost track of time clearing up," Bakugou replied vaguely. Liar.
Kirishima felt a heavy weight on his chest, though knowing it wasn't the truth still wished it was. He took a few moments to inhale deeply before turning his head to Bakugou. "Midoriya and Ida said that you weren't in the training room," he inquired. "They told me they were making rounds during the morning in the training room and didn't see you around before." Only for the briefest of moments, Kirishima saw Bakugou's eyes flinch and slowly saw his expression hardened looking as though trying to hold in a yell. Kirishima could feel the tension on his rise.
Kirishima was about to speak again and continue but stopped abruptly as a small chime suddenly came from Bakugou's pocket. He stared at Bakugou, as he pulled out his phone to check a message. However, when he noticed Kirishima's stare he slowly puts it away, the screen to him. It then made clear that there was something he was trying to hide from Kirishima. He was determined to find out. Taking in a quick breath to prepare himself, the redhead asks bluntly, "Are you hiding something from me?"
Though it didn't show on his blank-frown etched face, Bakugou felt tense as he slowly realised the meaning behind Kirishima's movements and how he had entered the lockers nervously when he called him out when on his call. So he spied on him? Purposely? What for?
Noticing the newfound surprise in his eyes as they narrowed deeper and quickly turned to anger, Kirishima continued as his voice started to fall apart from its bluntness moments ago and now on a level of caution. "I- I didn't mean to listen in, but I…overheard your conversation on the phone and I—" While in mid-sentence, Bakugou's hand slammed against his locker door and it closed shut.
Kirishima backed away from his locker in haste a few feet away from him and himself, and as though realising what he did and the scared expression Kirishima wore, Bakugou quickly eased himself back down. Breathing and exhaling roughly, his hand slip off the locker and closed into a tight fist as he slowly calmed his jets.
Kirishima couldn't look Bakugou in the eye that looked away. Though he didn't mean to eavesdrop in the first place into the conversation, from the way he reacted towards him, Kirishima felt mixtures of guilt and anxiety build up. He couldn't tell; was he angry that he eavesdrop? Or was it that he was hiding something? Both didn't matter though, as the outcome still ended with him realising he upset Bakugou. "…I'm sorry," he apologised, his voice almost a mutter with his head low.
Bakugou looked at Kirishima, his eyes burned through a shadowed face. Clicking his tongue, with a sigh he opens his locker again and grabs his bag. Closing it again, he loops it through his arm and over his shoulder. "Yeah, whatever." Shoving both hands in his pockets, he started making for the exit. "I got stuff to do, so I'll see you when I see you."
Apologising was never Bakugou's strong suit. Kirishima knew that quality of his well, but while standing still and in shame of forcing himself onto him, he knew that the brute was just as upset as he was. He needed to apologise, baring his teeth before quickly calling to him, "Wait!"
Bakugou was about to walk out through the door but halted. Turning his head, Bakugou had an irritated frown yet waited as it took a few moments for Kirishima to speak.
"I am sorry," he told him. "I didn't mean to eavesdrop. Earlier I meant that— that I did want to talk to you about something important, so could you please…?"
Bakugou looked at Kirishima with intense eyes. Although feeling fumed still, seeing the sincerity in his words and how much he meant what he said, reluctantly he turned full body and approached Kirishima. Letting his bag off his shoulder, he drops it on the floor beside them. Between them, he was impatiently waiting.
Kirishima exhaled, keeping in a sigh and relieved as he gathers himself. "So, tomorrow, as you know, is my birthday," He began, his voice raised a little louder and shaken even though his body stood stiffly straight. "If you didn't have any plans, I was wondering that maybe… I don't know… we could go out together… like on a date." As Kirishima's words trailed off, his voice weakened on the last words as he stared up at Bakugou like a small animal.
Kirishima stood quietly looking at the floor, almost hoping for a light answer before finally, he spoke. "Sorry, I got plans tomorrow." Kirishima felt his face drop sadly as Bakugou continued. "My parents wanted me to come to visit them at home for a while. I didn't get to class earlier 'cause I had to fill in a request to leave campus. Because of what happened with the League, Aizawa said it was fine so long that I don't draw attention to myself from the media I should be alright, and if we planned to go on a date, I don't think we'll be able to avoid that."
Listening to this, Kirishima made sense of all that happened today and now felt embarrassed of how he acted and stubborn-minded he was. He would've been resolved far sooner if he had talked it over instead of letting it turn into a big misunderstanding. He let out a small sigh of relief as he wanted to laugh at how he tormented himself thinking of it. However, even after being relieved of those worries, Kirishima still felt disappointed about being rejected on his date. He picked his head up for a moment, letting out a small smile before answering timidly, even when trying to sound understanding and not so upset. "It's ok… I'm sorry I didn't ask sooner…"
Looking down at Kirishima, seeing his head hung low, Bakugou groaned to himself, knowing that his news had upset him more than he intended. 'Fuck.' He tries figuring out what he could say to make Kirishima cheer up, and then suddenly an idea came to him. Though he cringed in thought, he didn't know what else he could do. So his hands move to Kirishima's shoulders and gently hold them still, which causes the scarlet hair student to look up with a confused glance. He leans in and lightly his lips kissed the side of his cheek at the same moment he felt Kirishima freeze beneath him not expecting it.
As he pulled away, looking down and spreading from ear to ear, the boy beneath him froze on the spot like a deer in headlights while blushing as red as his hair. Bakugou looked at him almost turning red himself while in thought was arguing with himself how hard the shark-boy was going to react. Kirishima's eyes looked wide at him, stumbling over his words as he spoke. "Did you just—"
"And what if I did?!" Bakugou didn't wait for a second to snap back, but not to defend himself.
Kirishima felt his face was on fire, looking at Bakugou he could instantly turn away expression as though acting like the kiss wasn't a big deal. It wasn't as though he was a terrible kisser, but it was Kirishima who had always been the one to make a move to kiss. Bakugou had ever rarely been the first to make a move, however, it seemed as though like Kirishima, he also blushed furiously from planting the kiss himself more than receiving one.
He s burst into a small fit of laughter, finding it funny that Bakugou was blushing while trying to act natural and knowing he was doing this to cheer him up. Flustered and almost teary-eyed, Kirishima felt a little better before he felt Bakugou move one hand from his shoulder. Looking up, he met a soft gaze, making his heart well up as if there were butterflies in him.
"Listen, Eijiro," Bakugou slowly began, his voice sounding stern, had a hint of sincerity and gentleness. Kirishima loved it when Bakugou said his first name. Hearing it made his heart beat fast and the back of his neck heated down to his nape. "We'll celebrate later when I'm back, alright? You trust me?"
Kirishima looked astounded by Bakugou's calm expression and was held in his gaze while hearing the sincerity in his tone. Despite his doubts, he knew the blonde was too stubborn and proud to lie, and indeed he needed to trust it. Cheeks still flustered, Kirishima smiled at Bakugou and replied softly, "…Yeah."
Soon after gathering their things, both were walking back to their dorm. However, Bakugou and Kirishima soon had to leave, as one had band practice while the other gathered with the effects group in Kota's room. As dinner passed, Kirishima got to meet up with Bakugou to finally talk with the rest of their friends, but as it got later the blonde excused himself for the night and turned himself in early. The rest of the class continued to stay up, discussing with Aizawa their stage planning before they all packed up and get ready for lights out.
Being one of the last, Kirishima went to wash up and bid goodnight to everyone as he walked back to his room. When entering, he climbed into bed, but all the while he was thinking. For some reason, he couldn't stop reminiscing on the talk with Bakugou from earlier, for something about it just seemed to bother him. He looked at his bedroom ceiling with both of his hands cradling the back of his head. To Kirishima, though he was sure Bakugou had a reason to go out, there were still a few things on his mind that made him suspicious.
If it was his parents, would he have been so defensive if it was just a conversation to check on him? What would have been so unimportant that he didn't want Kirishima to overhear? If there was nothing else aside from the family matter, what was the reason he had been him for most of the entire day? Does the phone call and texts before class have something to do with it?
'"She told me that you can fix the problem I'm having…"' The words of Bakugou's conversation on the phone started coming back to him, echoing in his ears.
'Am I just overthinking all of this?' Kirishima tussles with his sheets as he gives up and tries to get comfortable in his bed. He turns his back to the wall but tosses over again and lets out a heavy sigh. Even while thinking about Bakugou today and the things he said, thoughts of his birthday tomorrow didn't cross any excitement in his mind as he drifted into sleep.
0000ooo- Next Day -ooo0000
The bustling of people, the smells of food opening for patrons to serve, and the background music of every paying above the crowd. The atmosphere and business of the mall made it almost impossible for Kirishima to hear Kaminari and Sero calling to him, yet he didn't mind at all. It had been a long time since he had been to a mall, especially the one they were in now after Deku had encountered Tomura Shigaraki, leader of the LOV. Seeing it again so lively and exciting, Kirishima couldn't help himself feeling mesmerised by new stores he hadn't seen since last coming and the new best-selling products and clothes that were on display in the windows.
It was noon, but earlier as the day began, Kirishima got up and got himself dressed to go to the training gym. Changing into a black t-shirt and shorts with off-white sneakers and socks, and a headband wrapped around his forehead. he grabbed a duffle bag from the closet, packing in some weights, a water bottle and his hero training equipment before leaving his room.
Though his original plans to spend the day with Bakugou were cancelled, he had nothing else exciting to do and decided to do as he told the others yesterday, which was to work out at the training gym, and maybe clear his head on last night's thoughts. He knew that Bakugou had already left when passing by his dorm door. He wished he said goodbye, and it made Kirishima uneasy not having the chance to see him off. He was surprised to see girls gathered together in the student lounge as he walked to the main door. They all seemed surprised by Kirishima's early awakening, but all greeted him good morning while they huddled together in the kitchen forming a small circle. Although Kirishima had noticed a few of them were acting startled, too tired in the morning to obtrude he brushed it off and thought nothing of their behaviour.
Hours later, Kirishima later left and started heading back to the dorms. As he entered the yard, he was greeted by Todoroki, Mineta, Tokoyami, Kaminari, Deku, and Sero, who all stood at the bottom of the stairs and porch as if waiting for him. Though not thinking much at first, Kirishima greeted them casually as he proceeded to go inside. However, they cut him off on his pursuit while talking in a very forward way, and turning him around back the way he came, the group slowly guided him away from the dorm and off the UA campus. When Kirishima, got the chance to ask where were they going, Deku turned to him with an apologetic smile and explained that the group arranged to go on an outing for his birthday to have some fun off-campus.
They walked down the mountain and waiting for them was Aizawa, standing next to a parked white van. Kirishima was so confused about what was happening, but he could not get a word in to say anything as all bundled inside the van and buckled in. When they gave the okay to go, Aizawa started driving off with a weary expression on his face but didn't mind their rowdy voices of excitement in the back. He had already been asleep during the morning of his day off but was rudely woken up by his students, who asked them profusely to go out off-campus. Although he had at first bluntly refused, upon hearing what the class was planning, he reluctantly agreed to accompany them all.
As the van soon stopped, they all climbed out and entered the giant mall. Kirishima's eyes lit up in awe until realising he didn't have his wallet or any money on him. However, even after telling his friends, they insisted that he didn't need worry to go back to the dorms to get them and today was on them. The group soon passed and entered different shops (while Mineta seemed more preoccupied with other stores, which he had to deject leaving from Thanks Sero ;)), Kirishima felt grateful towards his friends. For having made his day, it was a good thing to drag him out to spend his birthday with them. However, half an hour later, when they started going through a retail store, Deku, Ida, Todoroki, Tokoyami and Mineta, suddenly had to leave while saying they needed to collect a few groceries for the dorm's kitchen.
Kirishima was a little let down by them leaving but understood as they left and left Kaminari and Sero behind to chauffeur him. The trio continued to roam the stores by themselves and soon moved up to the second floor on the escalator with the few bags of clothes they had bought. After a while, Kirishima noticed Kaminari and Sero from the corner of his eye, as whenever one of them slowly backs away while they occupied him, they'd turn to their phones and text vigorously before approaching back as though they didn't. Whenever asked what they were doing, the two would change the subject or start walking out to a different store to redirect him.
The way they were acting started to make Kirishima suspicious. He knew that his friends wouldn't be sneaking behind his back unless it had something to do with him. Although he wasn't all sure what that was, he needed to know. As they started descending towards the lower floor again and landing at the bottom of the escalator, he decided to say something and get to the bottom of their behaviour. "I know you guys are hiding something," Kirishima stated to them straightforwardly, his voice loud enough for them to hear even from the small distance between them.
Sero and Kaminari stiffened, stopping in their track from walking before turning their heads to look at Kirishima, who had on a teased knowing smirk. They didn't answer as they tried to play off that they didn't know what he meant. Kirishima's wanted to laugh as Kaminari's face said it all as he kept whistling uneasily while Sero who acted more silent looked as though wanting to slap a hand over his mouth to make him stop. 'This is gonna be fun.' Kirishima thinks mischievously before repeating. This time, he focused his question on Kaminari. "Come one! I know you're hiding something from me, aren't you Kaminari?"
Kaminari's body flinches at the mention of his name, his expression becoming uneasy and uptight. Sero looks at him with a cringed, 'we are screw' expression, followed by a pleading glance to his friend that turned to him for help. Sero didn't say anything, looking away and leaving Kaminari feeling helpless.
Kirishima raised an eyebrow at himself with a smug smile before he walks over and laches himself onto Kaminari. With an arm around his neck and shoulders, he holds him in a headlock. Yelping in surprise, Kaminari struggles to get himself as Kirishima uses his free hand to ruffle through his hair in a heap. "Confess!" He demanded teasingly. People passing by the trio didn't seem to mind the commotion and some even smiled at their playful behaviour whilst Sero just stood, not knowing sure what to do or if he should stop him. Kirishima shouts again, his smile widening as making Kaminari's hair begins to bend in each way. "Come on! Confess!"
"Okay, okay, I give!" Kaminari laughed, sighing to himself as Kirishima lets him out of his hold while wondering how Kirishima's strength had grown to be crazy strong compared to the last few months of training. He composed himself, taking in some breaths of air before explaining defeatedly. "Mina made us swore not to tell you about this, but everyone is planning to throw a surprise party for you at the dorm when we get back later."
Kirishima's eyes widened in disbelief. "Really?" He looked at him and Sero, who had a hand on the bridge of his nose and shook his head disappointed by Kaminari's weak resistance.
"Yeah," Sero admittedly, his hand then reaching to the back of his head while wearing an awkward smile. "Yesterday, Mina gathered everyone up and the class got started on making plans. We're supposed to keep you out for the day until they finished setting up at the dorms. The guys right now are also passing by some of the shops we've been at and buying some of the stuff you liked." (Meanwhile: Todoroki paying with Endeavours credit card XD) Kirishima looked at them in shock, and his voice felt shaky hesitantly asked, "...You're all throwing a party just for me?"
"Yeah, man," Sero replied without hesitation, his smile widening more seeing his friend's face still suspended in shock like he could not believe them. "Why wouldn't we?" Kirishima couldn't have a chance to answer, as Kaminari (who recovered after fixing his hair) wrapped an arm over his shoulders and added in agreement, "I mean, what kind of friends we all be if we didn't get to celebrate with you?" He said that with a giant grin on his face that reached his ears.
Kirishima soon became overwhelmed with gratitude for having such awesome bros who would do this for him and felt touched by his friends they were doing this for him, fighting back tears of happiness as colours of excitement brighten his face. "Thanks a bunch," He told them. "You both are the best pals a guy could ask for." Sero and Kaminari took a glance at each other before turning back to him. They knew what the other was thinking; how they were both happy about how bright Kirishima's smile was earlier today.
"No problem," Kaminari then said, patting his back as he let himself go and walked next to Sero, suddenly a slight concern expression on his face. "Just do us a favour though and never tell Mina. You weren't supposed to know—according to her master plan— so act surprised when we all come back to the dorms tonight." Sero nodded in agreement. "No joke, she would kill us if she found out." he comments while looking at Kaminari with a frown spelling, 'it'll be your fault.' Kirishima looked at them both with sympathy as he knew what they meant. Knowing that Mina was the one who planned this surprise, he could imagine how she would react; yelling at the two with hands waving to fight them while shouting at them for how careless.
His smile dimmed awkwardly, but he nervously felt a little sorry for what would happen if they got caught as he knew Mina would be persistent and find out eventually.
Soon, the trio once again roamed the next few stores, Sero and Kaminari explained to Kirishima everything that occurred yesterday evening. Around the time after training, Mina had announced to everyone the big idea to throw a super surprise party, and immediately the plan was set in motion with the help of every hand in the class. The plan set for Kirishima with the guys, for the remainder of the day, and continued after leaving the mall, they would all then catch a movie premiere at the cinemas, until they then go off on a food safari in town before heading back to the UA campus in the late afternoon. At that time, the sun would begin to set and everyone in 1A would greet them at the door awaiting to surprise him.
As he listened, Kirishima's eyes shinned with great interest and astonishment. Thinking of everyone busy at that very moment made him feel special and excited for the day that he couldn't contain himself. He had never received anything like this before. Then suddenly reminiscing, he wondered. Everyone in the class was in on it. Does that mean Bakugou know about it too? If so, was the reason he was acting so broody yesterday because he was in on the plan?
Although he didn't ask Kaminari or Sero, Kirishima had bet to assume that while being out with his parents today, Bakugou was assigned some mission from Mina for the party. It could've explained how he was acting yesterday just as his friends did. Inside Kirishima hopeful that he was right and slowly eased into the relief of thinking about what he was up to right now, almost wishing he knew.
When Kirishima and the duo pair soon were hungry, they headed to the food court to order some burgers. While waiting for Kaminari who had a tough time choosing what to order, Kirishima's eyes happened to look all through the crowd around him at the seas of faces. To him, it seemed as though the crowds around him packed around this time of day and stretched on forever, but as he was about to fall back to Kaminari, something caught Kirishima's eye.
Around the outside of the foodcourt bounds and sitting bench circling beach a tree, a familiar figure slouched under a dark cap and sunglasses while continuously staring at his phone. Kirishima thought he could've been mistaking it at first, but as his eyes focused through the crowd of people that lessened, he was able to see clearly that it was indeed Bakugou. His confirmed, his body froze in place as his eyes couldn't look away. From beside him, Sero catches Kirishima's gaze looking away, confused by why he looked surprised as Kaminari took too long to order. "Kirishima do you want…. What are you l— Hey, isn't that Bakugou?"
Kaminari hearing him, turns away from the menu, stepping back to get a look at Bakugou as well. He looked wide-eyed as though he couldn't believe that he was there. "I thought he was busy today." He inquired, a brow raised. "So did I," Kirishima's words escaped his mouth without him realising but they didn't catch the wind in their ears. His thoughts swarmed, curiosity and confusion made him almost deafened to the world around him as though trying to make sense of his being here. He's here? Didn't he say being in public would be bad if he got caught?
He continued to stare at Bakugou dazed before Kaminari quickly hissed in a hushing voice, "Quick! Hide before he sees us!" Kirishima felt his arm tugged roughly and pulled by him, which brought him back to the present. Followed by Sero awkwardly, the three hid behind a vending machine filled with snacks and drinks beside the vendor.
"Um, Kaminari, what are we doing?" Sero asks him obscurely, but only to be shushed quickly by him as though Bakugou wasn't fifteen feet away. Sero leaned next to him now whispering, "Dude, he can't hear us from here."
"You don't know that," Kaminari whispered back, his tone snapping before his frown turned into a fascinated grin. "Besides, this is probably a once-a-blue-moon opportunity; Bakugou is at a mall and doing what? Tell me he isn't the kind of guy who likes to shop for clothes." His voice, though slightly shaking, was in a tone that made it seem as if the three were on a safari. Kaminari turns back for a moment to his friends when they both didn't immediately answer. As he's met with the disapproving looks of Kirishima and Sero, he knew what he said may not have been his best choice of words. He made it seem as though he was being nosy, so quickly added, "I only wanna see what he's doing, alright? It couldn't hurt to peak a while and see, not as if it'll get any worse if he catches us."
Though Kirishima and Sero knew that his suspicious behaviour was likely to get them discovered, Kaminari refused to move. They silently watch Bakugou, crouching on the floor like little gremlins. None of the people around them in the crowd didn't seem to care or take notice of them, but Kirishima still felt they were given judging stares as more passed. He felt intrusive, watching him while hiding like this and was all too familiar with the events of yesterday when he eavesdropped on him.
Viewing him from afar, Bakugou was not in the usual attire that he would wear around the dorms. He had on a dark denim jacket, with black jeans, but joined by the brown slack shoes that he'd usually wear for school. His spiky blonde hair was hidden under a navy cap and his glaring eyes were concealed by dark shades. Kirishima wondered how if he had not looked through the crowd or paid close attention to him, he would've blended into the crowd without thought of them not seeing him at all.
'I thought he was out with his family today.' Kirishima's mind soon quickly trailed again with questions. As he watched some more and noticed, from constantly staring up and down from his phone, Bakugou's eyes were briefly scanning the crowd around him. Even through the sunglasses, Kirishima knew that Bakugou was trying to spot someone but luckily didn't seem to notice Kirishima or Sero and Kaminari even as he would shoot a few arrogant glances around their way, which made Kaminari almost shrink back every time.
'Is he waiting for someone?' Suddenly becoming curious about Bakugou's impatience, slouching his shoulders while looking back and forth from his phone, Kirishima started to look through the crowd and kept his eyes out. He'd figured that Bakugou was waiting for his parents, who may have bought him here to spend some time together out. Right?
Waiting for a while, Kaminari still refused to leave even as Sero tried pulling him away with his elbow tapes. Kirishima started to get tired and decided to approach him directly. He thought of what kind of lame excuse he would make for running into each other, but then he saw Bakugou's expression change as he looked from his phone and through the crowd with recognition. His gaze looked through the crowd, and Kirishima turned his head towards what had caught his attention.
His eyes instantly saw the sight of a girl walking through the crowd on a beeline towards Bakugou almost eagerly. Kirishima saw that she was very petite waving in his direction with an arm over her head as if to get his attention. He turned back to Bakugou, who looked toward her as though relieved that she finally arrived in front of him. It instantly clicked that this was the person who he was waiting for. A sinking feeling in his stomach settled on his heart as he continued to watch in bewilderment. Bakugou stands up to greet the girl as she smiles at him brightly, and he didn't seem to mind, not even narrowing his gaze in annoyance. Kirishima tried to figure out who she was, though nothing close to anyone didn't seem to come to mind since Bakugou never shared any details about his friends before joining UA. She had darker hair compared to Bakugou's, so she couldn't be his sibling ('Of course, she could be from her dad's side,' he did consider, though Bakugou did mention that he was an only child).
In his mind, Kirishima had suddenly recollected the memories of yesterday. 'Was she the one Bakugou was talking to?' he thought, feeling hurt by the words he was too afraid to admit out loud. Although he trusted Bakugou, something in his stomach and chest told Kirishima that the two events almost seemed to connect.
"Check out that chick he's with!" Kaminari's exclamation finally broke Kirishima out of his thoughts as their attention immediately was solely on the girl too, their eyes widening in astonishment at the scene they were witnessing. "Are they on a date?" Kirishima felt a pang of hurt as he continued to stare, his breath seized as he struggled to form the words.
He felt his body grow heavy and cold as the noises around him became faint to hear and airless as though he were underwater. The crowd, the music, and the whispers of Kaminari and Sero beside him were all muffled as he's watching the girl smile at Bakugou without any hesitation or uneasiness as she was so near him. Bakugou's eyes were soft and the expression on his face turned calmer. Seeing this made Kirishima unable to turn away his eyes as both the girl and Bakugou were beginning to talk pleasantly to each other.
He thought he could hear the voices of the crowd. 'What a cute couple.' 'Are they out on a date?' It could've been his imagination playing tricks, maybe they didn't say anything at all or didn't even notice. However, it didn't seem to stop Kirishima from thinking the same thing. They did look good together… like a couple. "…We should go." Kirishima was finally able to say this weakly, however not heard by Sero and Kaminari the first time, he repeated sounding a little choked trying to keep his voice steady. "We need to go."
"Huh?" Hearing him the second time, Kaminari looked at Kirishima disappointed. "Don't you wanna see what happens?" He said this with a quick sidewards glance, but still kept most of his attention on Bakugou and the girl.
"This is his own business," He replied, his voice still strained but flat of emotion that Sero immediately noticed. He looks to Kirishima, who turned his eyes away evasively before he continued. "He'll get angry if he sees us. Come on." Without giving them a second to argue back at him, he already started walking away. Sero and Kaminari, his attention now removed from Bakugou, looked at each other with uncertainty and concern before they got up from crouching and followed him from behind trying to catch up in haste steps.
Kirishima didn't slow down or wait for them to catch up as he felt angry tears wanted to rise, looking to the floor he tried to hide his face while almost bumping into everyone he passed. He tried to organise his thoughts, taking in deep and unsteady breaths to calm down, but how could he, stop the thoughts and heart from hurting him after what he just saw? Bakugou with another girl. Smiling, allowing her to hang so casually around him and acting like she didn't bother him in the slightest. Were they that close? Why did he never show that side of himself to me?
'Why did he lie?' Their conversation from yesterday started to fit as his fears turned to the most likely explanation he saw; Bakugou was on a date. He wasn't anywhere with his parents and he didn't want Kirishima to find out that he was seeing her. He was cheating on him. Or was it that he was now uninterested? Though the voices of Sero and Kaminari tried to call out to him, the crowd's noise rose above them as well as the sound of his beating heart pounding against his ears. His chest tightened with a burning heat rising in his lungs, forcing himself to hold back tears as he breathed in heavily.
Meanwhile, as he started walking with the strange girl in the opposite direction, Bakugou could hear the faint sound of their voices and turned to look behind him. He spotted the two-family faces within the rift of the crowd walking in the opposite direction. Although their backs were facing him, from the familiar sight of Kaminari's bright hair next to Sero's taped elbows Bakugou instantly knew who the pair were. He started to wonder, 'What are those two doing h—' Before he could finish the thought, his eyes suddenly caught sight of another familiar figure.
Though unsure at first from the further distance between them as he walked at a faster pace, as Bakugou's eyes stared translucently at the fiery red hair fade away, he realised who it belonged to. 'Eijiro?'
(Be back tomorrow to celebrate!)
