Magic.
A concept that has existed in the Clover Kingdom, as well as its neighboring nations for generations. A majority of the population is gifted with mana and use it for everyday. The Magic Knights are guardians of the people, fighting to serve and protect however they can.
However... There is another side to this story. Another world that is beyond any humans have ever seen.
And today... it is about to be released.
The six Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom stood before the massive door to the treasure vault. After the long, hard battle against the Diamond Kingdom mage known as Mars they were ready to enter the chamber and claim their prize. "Hey, are you sure this is gonna hold him?" Asta asked, pointing at the metal holding the gem mage down.
"Of course it will!" Klaus shouted in annoyance. "My magic power isn't flimsy enough for a weakened mage to escape! Not to mention that I have his Grimoire."
"Alright, alright! I'm sorry." The magicless teen replied before looking at his torn cloak. "Aw, man. Did that guy really need to mess up my robe?"
"Vanessa will fix it up back at the base." Luck simply said.
Klaus coughed and the three Black Bull members turned to the Golden Dawn trio. "We were competing to see who could here here first, remember? We won." The bespectacled man smugly said. "However, we'll allow you to the treasure hall as well, just this once."
"Why are you so full of yourself, four-eyes!?" Asta asked before turning around. "ALL RIGHT! INTO THE TREASURE HALL!"
The two stared at the massive wall in front of them, unaware that they shared the same thought. 'And... how do we get in?'
Luck walked forward and placed his hand on the door, his lightning magic arching off his fingers. "It looks like this door is made of magic, so just cut it, Asta."
The other male Black Bull wasted no time and resummoned his massive sword. He charged the massive wall of magic power and swung his blade half a dozen times, the anti-magic of the blade making the door crumble. The magic power began glowing and the six mages blocked their eyes to keep from going blind. Excitement began welling up in them as they could only imagine what was behind it.
Would it be gold? Jewels? Priceless magical relics?

None of the above, as it turned out. The six lowered their arms to see not shining gems or fancy clothing but stack upon stack upon stack of black and brown cards. They walked in complete disbelief, leaving the Diamond Kingdom mage alone.
"We risked our lives for this!?" Noelle asked annoyed, kicking a pile of cards over.
"I don't know. Some of these are pretty cool." Luck said, picking one up. "I would sure like to fight this one." He turned the card around to show a blonde man in white armor with lightning in the background.
"Hey, Specs. This one looks like you." Klaus turned around to see Asta holding up a bearded elderly man with thick glasses and a staff.
"THAT DOESN'T LOOK A THING LIKE ME!" The Golden Dawn member shouted in annoyance.
"Yuno, look at this one. It's just so cute!" Mimosa said, holding up a card. It showed a brown cottonball with purple eyes and four green claws.
Yuno ignored the girl and walked further into the room. Luck was on top of a pile and throwing cards at Asta like they were knives. The wind mage continued on until he saw an ornate podium with a large scroll with wind blowing off it. He walked over and opened the parchment, finding ancient scrawlings all over.
'Is this... writing? I've never seen anything like it before.' The scroll began glowing a deep green, as did his Grimoire, before the glow caught everyones attention. It soon died and the writing was gone, much to Yuno's confusion.
"What's wrong, Yuno?" Klaus asked in concern as he and Mimosa walked over.
"N-nothing." The commoner replied before putting the parchment down.
Screams of pain left Asta's mouth as his pet Anti-Magic bird, Nero, pulled on his hair. "What the hell are you pulling me for!? I'm already injured here!" He waved his arms and the bird flew away as Asta stared at the wall in front of him. The only thing of notice was a golden circle with a flat indentation in it. "It's... a wall. You dragged me all the way over here to look at the wall?"
The bird flew over and began pecking at his face again. "Leave me alone!" He shouted before an explosion caught his attention. Quickly climbing a stack of cards, he saw Mars had arisen and forced the others tried to jump back from the crystals, only to get caught.
"I don't understand!" Klaus shouted in confusion. "That spell should have held him! He was injured! There's no way he could have recovered in such a short amount!" Flames were rolling off Mars as the Golden Dawn member gasped in horror. "Flame recovery magic... But that's impossible! Unless... the rumors are true... The Diamond Kingdom's experiments are..."
"If I put out those flames, it'll weaken him." Noelle raised her wand and channeled her magic into an orb, only for Mars to swing his diamond suits arm and whack her to the side. Mimosa turned to her cousin and found her bleeding heavily from her chest to her clavicle.
"NOELLE!" The boy shouted in anger before charging as he drew a sword from his book. The sword takes the form of a massive greatsword that is mostly covered in dirt and scuff marks. The blade and the hilt are separated from each other and connected by a fuller. The hilt appears as the handle to a normal longsword. The blade is huge and has a pointed tip while the base is pointing inward, creating an angle. "HOW DARE YOU HURT MY FRIEND!"
"I've figured out your little trick." The Diamond mage confidently said. "That sword negates any magic it touches." Short sickles of diamond rose off his armor and began spinning like saws. "But what happens if the magic is faster than you can hit!?"
The blades started flying at him and Asta swung his large blade, knocking some to the side. 'There's too many, and they're too fast!' Asta blocked one before the crystalline tower charged him and threw a punch, sending Asta flying back into the wall. The wind kicked the cards up and they blew around the room as Asta crashed through the brick.
Mars stomped forward when a cry from Mimosa caught his attention. He turned to see the two girls on the floor, the vermillion haired girl glowing green as her Grimoire flipped a page. "Plant Recovery Magic: Princess Healing Flower Robe."
Plants emerged from her sleeves and spread across her arms and body. "This is the best recovery spell I can muster... You have to stay strong, Noelle! Keep fighting!" Her cousin groaned in pain as she struggled to open her eyes. "You've never given up on anything in your life, so you can't start now! That's why I've always admired you!"
The wound started closing up as the sound of footsteps caught her attention. She turned and saw Mars marching over to her as the three men struggled to break free from their prison.
Asta pushed himself up and groaned in pain. 'My sword... it's too big and heavy to keep up with his magic. He changed his fighting style to match mine. I need to do the same.' He looked through the hole and found his opponent stomping towards Mimosa and Noelle. "If I don't do something, he's gonna kill-"
Nero flew over his head and he turned to see his bird sitting on the spherical pommel of another blade. This sword had black markings on the blade and is mostly covered in dirt. The sword also had a heavily ornate hilt with a four-sided guard and a grip with a spiral design.
Mars stood over the girls and summoned his blades again. "Only those who are strong deserve to live. The weak should die." The blades started spinning and flew at the girls, making Mimosa flinch. With a shout, Asta swung the smaller blade and destroyed the crescent blades.
Everyone was shocked by the new blade as Asta pointed it at Mars. "Your opponent is right here!" He charged Mars and swung at the golem before hitting the shoulder. Flames erupted from the wound and healed Mars before he punched Asta back, sending him sliding back towards Noelle and Mimosa.
'I can handle his attack spells, but his recovery magic is a different story.' The commoner thought in a panic. 'How can I beat this guy!?'
"What... are you doing... Dorksta?" He turned around and saw Noelle pushing herself up as best she could. "I'm... royalty and you... are the first... commoner I've acknowledged... This guy... is nothing... Hurry up and beat him... understand?"
To his surprise, the blade began glowing in a blue aura. Rather than question it, Asta shifted his feet and smiled. "Don't worry. I'll bring him down."
"Just die already!" The Diamond mage shouted.
"Not happening!" Asta defiantly screamed back as the golem charged forward. "I may not have any fancy magic power, but what I do have is my friends!" He swung his blade and a curve of water magic shot off, tearing through the crystals. Mars raised his arms to block, only for the magic to cut through and send him flying back.
Asta panted in exhaustion as his sword stopped glowing. "I have no idea how... but I did it." Blood started coming out of his mouth as he looked down, finding a chunk of diamond shoved into his gut. His new sword clattered to the ground as he fell over, blood coming out of his mouth and chest.
"Asta!" Noelle shouted in fear before turning to her cousin. "Don't worry about me! Help him!"
"R-right!" Mimosa nodded before racing over. She knelt down and started healing the swordsman.
"Open your eyes!" Klaus shouted an order. "Where'd all that arrogance from before!?"
"Try to hold on..." Mimosa said to her patient. "Do you hear me!?"
Her ears perked up as the golem rose up again, much to everyone's horror. "A naive child like you... has no right to beat me!" Mars shouted before a massive diamond sword appeared in his golem's hand.
"Asta!" Yuno shouted as wind blew off him.
Klaus struggled in the crystal as he glanced over to Mars. 'That last attack took out his Flame Recovery Magic. If I could only reach my Grimoire..."
"Die!" Mars shouted before the sword fell.
"ASTA!"
Yuno broke through the crystal and his Grimoire floated next to him. 'Nothing in my Grimoire can reach him fast enough! I can't let you die here!' His book glowed and the whole world froze around him, much to his shock. Chunk of crystals floated in the air around him as the others were in a stand still.
His body was still frozen but his eyes glanced over to the side and if he could, he would have gasped in shock. There next to him was small dragon like creature that seemed to be made out of a frozen storm. Its red eyes were closed before they opened in a blink. The creature flew over and licked Yuno's check before it let out a small breath and flapped its wings, sending a gust of wind at the stone blade.
As soon as the breath touched the sword, the gem shattered like glass before the golem was destroyed and Mars sent crashing into a wall, sending cards flying into the air.
Everyone stared in shock at the sudden action before Mars crumbled to the floor. All of the diamond he created started crumbling away, freeing the other two men. Klaus and Luck raced over to Yuno, only to find him just as confused as them. His Grimoire glowed again as the writing from the scroll appeared in it.
Mimosa watched in shock as the smaller sword suddenly floated into the air and sank into Asta's Grimoire. Writing appeared in the book before then ceiling and walls began cracking and falling apart in chunks.
"The dungeon is falling apart!" Yuno shouted before his Grimoire glowed again. "Wind Magic: Celestial Wind Ark!" A tower of wind appeared under him before it raised him off the ground. "Everyone, get on!" The others raced onto the vessel as Luck carried Asta on board. "Mimosa, take care of Asta!"
"Right!" The girl nodded before Asta started struggling. "Don't talk! Save your strength!"
"That... guy..." He mumbled, glancing over to Mars. "Help... him..."
"Are you insane!?" Klaus shouted in shock. "He's a member of the Diamond Kingdom! He nearly killed us all!"
"We were sent... to capture the dungeon..." The swordsman replied. "Not... to kill people..." He passed out again before the dungeon collapsed around the mage, blocking their path.
"There's no time! We have to go!" Klaus shouted. Reluctantly, Yuno nodded and steered his magic out the 'treasure' hall.
As the group flew to escape, the cards started shuffling around from a small breeze. The cards suddenly took off and coated the walls of the room, securing a few lose bricks and broken tiles. They started glowing white before the entire room turned white, save the cards on the floor.
Twenty five cards started glowing before they floated into the center of the room. One card glowed brighter before a massive anthropomorphic bird emerged from the card. Its dark purple wings came out of the shoulder blades and its hands and claws were solid yellow keratin. "You all saw that, right?" The figure asked. "That boy picked up the sword!"
"Of course we saw it, Thunderlord!" The avian turned to see a large dragon like creature with dark blue scales emerge from another card. Its head had a number of horns and dull orange fins as well as matching sails on its back. Golden plate armor covered its back and tail, which ended in a trident adornment. "I also saw the bitch kick us over and completely disrespect us!"
"Calm down, Poseidra." The fish turned to see a woman with blonde hair and a two shade of green outfit split down the middle said, standing next to the large bird. "That girl obviously has no idea what we are or what our purpose is."
"And that just makes it okay, Splendid!?" The sea serpent shouted, only for the large winged-beast to step in front of her. "Do you ever get tired of hiding behind this piece of fried chicken?"
"One more remark like that, and I'll feed you to my chicks!" Thunderlord declared, sparks arching between his finger.
"Will you all shut up!?" The three turned to see a girl with blue hair and matching elegant clothing appear. She held a metal staff with a purple plant growing off it as four stain glass window like wings emerged. "Can we focus on what this means!? This means trouble!"
"Rosemary is right." A savage sounding voice said. The four turned and stared at a pile of cards as a white and blue tiger jumped down. Ice spikes emerged from its shoulders as its chest, ankles and shoulders were covered in black and gold armor. "Every other explorer has failed to even lift that sword, let alone put it in their Grimoire. This can only mean one thing: The Shadow Realm is meddling with the human world again."
"Then we must act at once, Dewloren." An elderly warrior in golden and red armor said. "We must reenter this world and fight with duelists once more."
"They're right!" A new bird creature landed next to the tiger. Its wings were comprised of three massive lines with purple orbs at the end. Orange lines lead from the orbs back to the main body, covered by bulky black armor from the chest to the clawed 'hands'. It had no face and only an orb in its open beak.
The exposed chest was well defined before his legs were covered by more armor. A back skirt gave the impression of feathers as it's feet were clawed in the armor. "We have to do something!"
"Oh yes and just how do you propose we do that, Tiger King?" Poseidra asked. "Their magic power was so weak that they couldn't even sense us! So what do we do?"
"We channel our archtypes energy together and find those who best fit us." Thunderlord said, his voice echoing. "It is the only chance humanity has in this coming crisis."
"And what about the six who found us?" Armor Master asked. "Are we sure that they can escape?"
"Lightning Warrior is currently following them, destroying anything that might impede them." Tiger King declared. The other six stared in shock of the statement, knowing what it would mean for the warrior. "We cannot let him die in vain. We shall guide this generation into battle."
"And the anti-magic boy?" Poseidra asked. "Who wants to guide him?"
Silence filled the room as no one volunteered to take the duty. "We will take that responsibility." The six turned to see a card fly forward, this one glowing blue instead of white.
"Are you sure about that? Can we trust the ones you associate with?" Dewloren asked.
"I am." The card said. "We shall make a fine deck for that warrior."
"Very well, then." Thunderlord turned to the piles of cards and spoke for all to hear. "We may have to face each other in combat, but we must not hold it against anyone. Do you hear me, everyone?" The cards around them began glowing and variously shaped monsters and creatures appeared. They nodded in agreement as the cave collapsed around them.
A massive hole broke in the ceiling and the cards flew into the air. Various clusters formed before the completed decks flew apart. So began the Duel monsters search for worthy hosts to battle this threat. But things like this are never that easy.
"So, they've finally come out of hiding?" A figure clad in shadows said as they watched from a small cliff five miles away. "I suppose we should do the same." He turned around and five other figures like him were standing there. "Remember the terms of our agreement. We do not interfere with each others plans."
"The time for humanity is over... now we will rise." The five nodded before the six turned into pillars of darkness and shot off into the world.
So this is probably the weirdest crossover I've ever done or will do, but I just can't get this idea out of my head. So I'm just gonna make it into a story and see how you guys like it. Big shout out to my friend and fellow writer The 3rd Dragneel for helping me figure out who gets what deck.
There will be a harem for Asta, but a very small one; six girls, maybe two more if people want them in. One of which you will never see coming. Throw in some original arcs and characters along the way, as well as characters from the various Yugioh series and this could be very fun.
There will be no Link Monsters, but they will be turned into different types of monsters. And I will be happy to explain all easter eggs and references you have questions on this, not to mention my original cards. Next chapter will NOT be as action packed as this one, but it is the tutorial for Duel Monsters in this world. See ya then.
Beta read by The 3rd Dragneel.
Authors Note: THIS DOES NOT NEGATE THE POLL I HAVE UP! That will end when I finish the story that poll was set up for.
