A few months after the Shadow War, Scrooge and the kids are making their way through a Mayan temple, searching for the treasure. While seemingly everyone was going along fine, Louie was having a hard time.
After Louie walks into a spider web and nearly knocks Scrooge into a pitfall trap. After the others help Scrooge up, Dewey and Webby swing across in their teamwork song, and lift up the floor.
Louie is about to cross when Scrooge stops him, just as arrows start shooting up from the floor.
Rebecca takes a deep breath, walks away, then full sprint jumps onto one of the walls, running a short distance before jumping to the other side, dodging the arrows flawlessly as she alternates walls, before sticking the landing with a smirk. "Nailed it."
"Atta lass! Laddie?" Scrooge turns to Huey.
"Step turn, step turn, step turn dodge and step." Huey says as he resolves the pattern, before he and Scrooge practically dance through the arrows to the other side, unscathed.
"Uh boy. Okay, step-" Louie starts before running and screaming to the other side, getting pelted with arrows as he collapses panting.
Eventually, everyone makes it to the room with the idol, which Scrooge approaches, examines, and prepares to grab it.
"Just grab it, already!" Louie shouts, startling Scrooge.
"The Idol of Sybil is not a trinket to be unceremoniously swindled. Legend has it-" Scrooge says, but is cut off.
"Uh- buh- buh- buh- buh- buh- Can we just wrap up the 'woah', and get to the 'wait, what', already?" Louie asks, annoyed.
Scrooge just blinks, confused.
"Woah, some cool hidden city or treasure or whatever. Wait, what? That cool thing is dangerous, or cursed, or guarded by centaurs? AAHH! Louie almost dies. Can we please move it along? That's how it goes."
"Uncle Scrooge, I kinda have to agree with Louie. This place feels, familiar." Rebecca ponders, having the strangest feeling that this exact setup was in a movie she saw.
Scrooge rolls his eyes, finding Louie's explanation ridiculous. "Adventure is an unpredictable paramour. You've got to judge every angle. No two perilous scenarios are alike." He assures.
"Woah." Dewey says as he looks at the idol.
Louie holds up one finger.
Dewey then picks up the idol, which triggers the traps. "Wait, what?"
Louie holds up two fingers.
"Ah, phooey..." Rebecca sighs, Louie's suspicion correct.
"Well, that doesn't mean..." Scrooge starts.
Soon, everyone is screaming as they run from the boulder chasing them.
"Why didn't we have a bag of sand to swap it with?!" Rebecca screams out, her feeling spot on.
Some time later, everyone has returned the manor, the adventure complete. As all the kids except Louie cheer, and Beakley and Duckworth clean, Duckworth putting up the picture of Scrooge, Della, and Donald fighting Captain Peghook, Scrooge proceeds to track mud in.
"Ae'll be in the study."
"I'll be right here, cleaning up after your last adventure." Beakley says as she vacuums up the mud.
"Cool, I'm just going to lie here forever." Louie says as Beakley vacuums him and makes him look like Gladstone, to which Rebecca snickers.
"Kids! Kids, ae found a hidden compartment in the idol. There's only a treasure map inside. Let's go!" Scrooge says.
"Woo, hoo hoo hoo!" Rebecca, Huey, Dewey, and Webby cheer.
"Ugh! I! Need! A! Break!" Louie says in frustration, absolutely done with constant adventures.
...
After Louie got Huey obsessed with sewing, and went to Scrooge to complain about constant adventuring 'tearing them apart', Louie makes the absolutely amateur mistake of suggesting a family game night, which gets Scrooge obsessed.
After teams are formed, and Duckworth vanishes, Rebecca looks side-to-side, and starts to fake cough. "Oh, oh no! I must have caught some dangerous disease from that temple! Well, guess I'll have to sit this out. Bye!" She rushes to the vents and climbs in, scrambling to her room in a panic.
"Well, rest up lass. Yew can join in next time!"
Rebecca makes it to her room and pants as she slams the vent shut, acting like she just escaped certain doom. She sighs with relief and, locking her door before hoping onto her bed. As far as she knew, she was safe. She gets out her phone and texts Ian.
Rebecca: Do not come, Louie suggested family game night, Scrooge is obsessed.
Ian: Well, shoot, Gyro dragged me along to show off his newest invention.
Rebecca: Well, phooey.
Downstairs, Ian finishes on his phone with talking with Rebecca, and is second-guessing coming with Gyro. He only came to ensure he didn't kill anyone, so hopefully this would be quick.
"Assistant, this will be amazing!" Gyro says to Ian.
"I dunno sir, this doesn't sit well with me. Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"Pffft! Do you remember who we are working for? Scrooge McDuck will LOVE this, especially considering it is an," Gyro throws open the door, "Adventure!"
"No, no..." Louie dreads, and tries to shut Gyro away, but Gyro gets in.
Gyro launches into his tirade about the Gyropuddlians, which Ian groans at, and Louie refuses, up until Louie ends up shrinking Gyro.
Huey gasps. "What did you do? You shrunk him!"
"Which is exactly what he wanted." Louie defends.
"What?"
"Everything will be fine. Woah, Gyro shrunk down and worshiped as a god-king. Wait, what? They're in a war with a bunch of giant ants? AAAHH! He almost got eaten by a spider but survives and teaches everybody a lesson in trust or something!"
"That did happen twice last month. But is-"
"Primitive nomads, I give you the gift of superior intellect." Gyro says through the microphone.
"ARRGHH!" The Gyropuddlians grunt.
"Uh, and this penlight."
"Ooh! Gyro! Gyro! Gyro!"
"See? Everything's fine. Come on, let Gyro have his own adventure while we take it easy for once, and we can have a quiet, rejuvenating night in. Bone up on your skills."
"But what about-" Huey points to Ian.
Ian just shrugs. "Not my problem anymore. He can be a colonialist all he wants. I'm not getting involved at all." He walks away, likely to say hi to Rebecca.
Later, after the Jenga incident...
Rebecca was playing some video games, minding her own business. She then hears a noise outside her door, as well as some knocking on it. "What the- Guys?" She pauses her game, gets up, and goes to her door. "What is- AAHH!" She gets shrunk down, and finds herself facing the angry natives, who have tied up Gyro, Launchpad, and Ian. "What the-" She finds a spear in her face.
"Rebecca, run!" Ian shouts.
Getting a determined look, she kicks the spear away and, running on top of the Gyropuddlians, makes a break for it to get help. "Why do I have a sneaking suspicion Louie is to blame for this whole mess?" She manages to find the rest of the family, who are playing Scroogeopoly. Using a grappling hook, she gets up onto the table, and tries to warn them. "Guys! Tiny natives! They captured Gyro, Launchpad, and Ian then shrunk me! You gotta stop them!" Unfortunately, she is so small that no one can here her. "Ooh, curses Gyro! Why did you have to mess with size-altering technology?!"
Then, the Gyropuddlians have made it into the room, and are using their flies to lower the shrink ray to shrink the other four.
"Isn't anybody worthy to put up a fight?" Scrooge asks.
"Oh no... Guys! Look out!" Rebecca says uselessly as the other 4 are shrunk.
"Is this part of the game? Or, uh-" Dewey asks.
"Careful! They don't trust outsiders for some reason." Gyro warns.
"Guys!" Rebecca makes her way to the others, avoiding the Gyropuddlians
"Rebecca? What happened?!" Donald asks.
"Gyro and Louie is what happened!" She says.
"Yeah I'm gonna need a raise if this will be a regular occurrence." Ian adds, struggling as one Gyropuddlian gets grown, and everyone deals with the mess Louie and Gyro got them in.
"Everybody listen!" Louie ays into the microphone.
"Louie?" Everyone looks up.
"Hey, Louie!" Launchpad says.
"You better be fixing this!" Rebecca demands.
"I am! Launchpad, crash you way out of there to break them up." Louie directs.
"Okay, but what do I crash with? I don't see anything crash-able." Launchpad asks as he looks around, hitting the Gyropuddlians with the pole he is tied to... which means he also hits them with Gyro.
"Scrooge and Donald! Coral the Gyropuddlians onto Barks Place."
"C'mon, yew minuscule hooligans!" Scrooge challenges as he and Donald fight the Gyropuddlians immediately around them.
"Rebecca, get Ian free and you two protect the others."
"Can do!" Rebecca beats up several Gyropuddlians and cuts Ian free, the two ready to protect everyone else.
"Dewey, Webby, get up to those flies." Louie directs next.
"Shouldn't Scrooge and Donald do it?" Dewey asks.
"Kind of busy now, kids." Scrooge says as he holds off a Gyropuddlian.
"But you guys are totally in sync." Webby argues as she and Dewey fight with another Gyropuddlian.
"Are you daft? I'm a billionaire and he's a moocher that lives in that pool, and eats my food." Scrooge counters.
"Hey!" Donald protests.
"We lost every game. We argue and we have nothing in common." Webby says as they manage to get away from the Gyropuddlian they were fighting.
"Outside of adventure, how are we even friends?" Dewey asks.
"Of course you're not friends. You drive each other crazier than anyone could and still care about each other more than anyone. You're not friends; you're family." Scrooge explains as he swings Donald around, taking out numerous Gyropuddlians. "NOW MOVE!" He knocks a Gyropuddlian into a card Dewey and Webby set up as a see-saw, sending them up to the flies.
"Together!" Webby says as she and Dewey direct the fly, singing their teamwork jingle.
Rebecca and Ian toss several Gyropuddlians into Bark's Place, helping coral them.
"Almost, almost... Now!" Louie orders as he shrinks the giant Gyropuddlian, and traps him with the others, before returning everyone to normal size.
"So, I believe it was my turn?" Scrooge says, acting like nothing happened as Ian and Rebecca scowl at Louie.
Later on, after everything was cleaned up, Louie had suggested to give the Gyropuddlians the Scroogeopoly board as a home, given how every place prior was accidentally destroyed. Once Ian and Gyro left, Gyro taught his lesson about subjugating primitive peoples and the consequences, Scrooge decided to talk to Louie.
"So, how grounded do you think Louie is going to be?" Rebecca questions her siblings.
"What makes you think he is going to be grounded?" Huey asks.
"Why wouldn't he be? He nearly got us all captured or killed by a race of microscopic people because he didn't want to adventure. He's totally going to get grounded." She says.
"You're just upset he ruined your 'you' time?" Webby asks.
"...Maybe."
Then, after his 'lecture', Louie leaves Scrooge's office, and heads into another room after placing a sign that says 'Louie, Inc' on the door, as the other 4 look at each other confused.
"Wait what?"
