Chapter Summary:
Roxas deals with the revelation of Xion. Meanwhile, his little friend worries about him.
"Xion…a puppet."
Roxas muttered the words out in disbelief. He covered his ears and flopped around in his bed. "Xion is a puppet made to copy my powers…the Keyblade's powers...she was special because I was special."
Because of the Keyblade.
Roxas sat up and held out his arm. He willed his Keyblade to appear.
It appeared in his hand, like it always did, the blade in the shape of a key, made to harvest hearts.
For Kingdom Hearts.
The one thing that defined his very existence, as well as his best friend, Xion's.
It made Roxas and Xion so integral to the Organization.
It made Roxas special and Xion a tool.
It was tearing his friendship apart.
"Xion is made to reflect you."
"We're special right, Xion?"
"That Keyblade makes the both of you pretty special."
"We may be special…but I don't think we're the same."
"You and I are best friends, Roxas. But Xion is…"
Something hot blazed through him.
"Special…?! Who cares?! Who needs something like this when…?!"
When it was destroying everything he cared about.
Roxas hurled the Keyblade across the room. It smashed through the window, shattering it, causing pieces of glass to fall outward.
Roxas panted angrily…and then stood in shock as he gazed out the broken window.
At the Keyblade that slowly floated back in.
And returned to his presence.
"...I can't run away from you?"
…Why?
Why me?!
Why am I a part of the Organization?!
Why do I have the Keyblade?!
Who am I…really?
Roxas collapsed at the ground, oblivious to the little Heartless that stood right by his side.
Sora looked up at Roxas.
He was upset, he could feel it.
Sora couldn't understand. Why is everything wrong these days?
Ever since Xion, the girl who looked like Kairi (whowasKairiwhydidhernamehurt) ran away, Roxas and Axel had been fighting. They wouldn't talk to each other. They wouldn't eat ice cream, and Axel wouldn't give Sora scratches on the head anymore, and Xion wouldn't show Sora her shell collection anymore.
And now Roxas was hurting.
The little Shadow padded right up to the Nobody. He tugged at Roxas's coat.
Roxas gave a glance at Sora and wiped his face.
"Sora…what do you think I should do?"
Sora tilted his head. Was Roxas supposed to do something?
Sora could feel Roxas's emotions and thoughts. He didn't know why but he knew he was supposed to do something. But he didn't know what.
All he knew was that he could not abandon Roxas.
Roxas was important to him.
He just didn't know why.
Roxas gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.
"I am done with this."
Sora knew no matter what, where Roxas went, he went as well.
Because Roxas was his…
"Let's go, Sora. We're leaving."
"It's time to find out…who I really am."
