Hey, guys, hey there. With the upcoming end of Legacies, I'm more than motivated to write stories with Hope Mikaelson. And by reading fanfics about time travel, it inspired me to make this story where Hope accidentally finds herself in another era at the time of the series The Vampire Diaries. The plot will take place during season 4 of TVD.

Good reading.

Chapter 1: Reverse Time

Hope Mikaelson fought with all her might against Josie Saltzman, who had become evil, corrupted by dark magic. She was struggling to save her friends, but Josie being a friend of hers, wasn't really looking to do terrible damage to her.

After being able to push her a little on the other side of the boxing ring, Hope took the opportunity to try to reason with her friend who had become bad.

"You are not Josie. I know that you think she's weak, but I know the truth... she's strong. You're strong. No one could shoulder the burdens that you carry. And you're always there for your friends when they need you. So, please, Jo, we really need you right now."

"Enough of this drivel!" exclaimed the Necromancer, who arbitrated the battle.

He walked towards Dark Josie who was still on the ground.

"What are you waiting for? Kill the Tribrid."

Completely angry, Josie the evil rebelled with ferocity:

"Shut up. Everybody, SHUT UP!"

Immediately, a heavy silence fell on the gymnasium of the Boarding School. All the spectators stopped saying a word, as if Josie had magically silenced them.

Then Josie looked at Hope with a disoriented look, as if she were no longer evil.

"Hope?"

Is it possible that Josie has become herself again? Did Hope manage to reason with her so that her good side resurfaces?

"Jo, is that you?"

But suddenly, the witch's eyes became black again. And a grin appeared on her lips. And she stood up, staring at the Tribrid, gloating.

"Mm. Did you really think that you'd be the one that would bring out my good side? I don't even think she likes you. Ascendo."

Hope was immediately raised in the air, while Dark Josie levitated her high out of the ring.

"I'm much stronger than the weak twin!"

Hope, still in the air, continued to reason with her friend.

"I know you're in there, Josie. Fight."

"Sorry, sweetie, but Jo's gone," replied Dark Josie, with a bad grin. "So are you! Goodbye Hope Mikaelson!"

And she uttered a spell that Hope did not know at all. The Tribrid felt a long fall… and it was the last thing she remembered…

When Hope regained consciousness, she noticed that she was no longer in the gym. She was... on the street? At least she was still alive. It was daylight. There was a beautiful sunny sky. What the hell happened? How could she have been there? Josie would have kicked her out of the Salvatore Boarding school in Mystic Falls? There's something wrong.

With the greatest confusion, Hope stood up looking around her. She was still in Mystic Falls, but with some differences. For example, some of the stores she knew were gone, as if they had been replaced. Walking around the city, everything was different. As if the town had changed its appearance. There was something wrong.

She walked past the park and was stunned to find that there was not the usual bench in the name of Matt Donovan. Where the hell was she? Would Dark Josie have propelled her into another version of Mystic Falls?

The Tribrid began to worry. She found her phone there and tried to contact Lizzie. But after she dialed her number, the phone company told her that her call was inaccessible. Intrigued, she contacted MG aka Milton Greasley. Same thing, her call didn't go through.

Worried, Hope looked around in this strange version of Mystic Falls.

"Oh Jo, what have you done to me?"

She saw a newspaper distributor. She ran to look at the front page, and was shocked to find out today's date: May 10, 2011.

"2011?" she exclaimed, stunned. "A year before I was born?"

Dark Josie had apparently cast a spell that had propelled the Tribrid back in time. In the past. At the time of Mystic Falls, a year before he was born. This news shocked her and immediately she gathered her knowledge of the time. 2011. At that time, the town had not yet burned in the Hellfire. There was Salvatore Boarding House. Not yet a school. Which meant Stefan Salvatore was still alive. And … her dad… and her mom… were also alive. May 2011. Her mom had come to Mystic Falls around this time.

The idea of seeing her parents still alive pleased her. The positive side of her strange situation was that she could see her parents. Perhaps she could prevent their deaths? But how to do it? She had not yet been born during this time. And she couldn't really introduce herself to them as their daughter. Besides, she couldn't stay in those days. Her friends needed her in the future. She had to find a way home. She wondered how Dark Josie could know a spell capable of going back in time. Was it the Necromancer who helped her? Or Alyssa Chang?

Hope finally realized that she was hungry. She saw the Mystic Grill. She still had a few pennies in her pocket. So she could find herself a snack.

When she arrived at the restaurant, she doesn't see many customers there. She ordered a milkshake. As she sat down, she noticed a man sitting not far from her. A man who wore a clerical collar around his neck. A man of the church, apparently. Hope had never seen this man in Mystic Falls. And the man in question took an interest in her.

"Are you new here? I am Pastor Young. Who are you?"

Stunned, Hope turned briefly to the man, before answering:

"I've just arrived in town. My family and I moved around a lot."

"I have a daughter about the same age as you… her name is April. I'm sure she'd get along with you."

"Oh, great," replied Hope vaguely, taking a glass of water.

But as she drank her drink, she felt a big pain in her throat and began to cough. Someone had poured wolfs-bane into her glass. A poisonous plant for werewolves.

She grabbed her table, while coughing heavily. Her eyes took on a golden color and began to growl unwittingly.

She saw Pastor Young brandishing what appeared to be a walkie-talkie and transmitting orders.

"I've a she-wolf at the Mystic Grill. I need help."

Hope remained in her chair while her body recovered. She turned to the Pastor, when she felt a dart pierce her skin. She turned to see two policemen to be deputies of the sheriff coming straight at her.

And she lost consciousness again.

When Hope regained consciousness, she realized that she was handcuffed and locked in a police car in the back seat. She saw two deputies of the sheriff in front of her, who were taking her to an unknown destination.

The Tribrid gathered her knowledge of what was happening. Then she remembered what she had read about the history of Mystic Falls: the Founders' Council. A corps of high-ranking officials in Mystic Falls who were officially in charge of commemorating the founding of the town. And unofficially, their real goal was to protect the town from the threat of vampires. And apparently, they had launched a hunt for supernatural beings, which explains the wolfs bane in Hope's glass. And they captured her, thinking she was a werewolf. Which was partly true. But what they didn't know was that Hope wasn't just a werewolf.

In a low voice, she pronounced a spell.

"Uanascar."

Instantly her handcuffs opened and her hands were free. While rubbing her hands, she looked at the policemen behind the wheel of the car who had not noticed anything.

Finally, the car slows down. Hope took the opportunity to cast her sleep spell.

"Ad somnum."

Immediately, the two deputies of the sheriff at the wheel fell into sleep. Then Hope used her spells to stop the car. The vehicle had stopped a few miles from an isolated farm in the middle of nowhere. Then the police radio started crackling:

"We have already captured one of the Salvatores, Elena Gilbert and the Original Sister at the Pastor's farm. We're still tracking the others. Where are you with the Mystic-Grill's wolf?"

Hope was stunned by the radio. So they were holding vampires captive on a farm. The one from Pastor Young? One of the Salvatore brothers? Elena? What about Sister Original? One of her aunts? Hope knew it couldn't be Freya, because her family didn't know her before she was born. So it could only be her aunt Rebekah. How did a bunch of human hunters manage to catch an Original? And where could her dad and uncle Elijah be? If the Council knew about the vampires, they also had to know about her family, especially if they were holding her aunt Rebekah. Maybe they were using Rebekah to lure other Originals, including her dad. Did they have a weapon capable of killing them? A White Oak Stake? Or even more?

She saw the isolated farm a few miles from her. The police radio was asking for news about her. She had to leave quickly before one or more patrols were on her trail. What bad luck. She had just landed in the past, and as soon as she arrived, she had to flee the police in her own town, even if it wasn't quite her Mystic Falls. She went away from the police vehicle and set off towards the farm. A place this remote could be a good place to lock vampires.

Night fell when she reached the farm, she cast her camouflage spell: Invisique. Once she was sure she was invisible, she began to inspect the farm. There she recognized Pastor Young inside barking orders over the radio. The house was too small to hold a dungeon for vampires. A farm like that had to have a barn or a stable.

She went around the farm to discover a stable. But as she tried to approach it, a narcissistic voice echoed in the night:

"Yoo-hoo! Anybody home? Big bad vampire out here!"

She retraced her steps, to see two silhouettes in front of the entrance to the Pastor's house. One stood upright, blood dripping from his lips, while the other was on the ground, his neck bleeding. Hope recognized them as much younger Damon Salvatore and Matt Donovan.

Still invisible by her spell, Hope walked cautiously towards them, and saw Pastor Young opening the front door of his house, but remained on the landing.

What the hell was he thinking? Hope was wondering what Damon was doing. Despite what little she knew about Pastor Young, she was sure he wasn't going to release three vampires, including one Original just because Damon was alone and threatening Matt. Moreover, as the leader of the Council movement, he must have had deputies guarding his farm.

She found it odd that she didn't see her father around saving her sister. Knowing the family was precious to him. He sacrificed himself to save his siblings, which prevented her from living with him before she was seven years old. And her Uncle Elijah. Why wasn't he there either? Not Klaus, not Elijah? Were they aware of what was happening in Rebekah? Or maybe they didn't know. Upon learning that Rebekah was captive to the Council, she had imagined her dad coming to her rescue. To her astonishment, she saw him nowhere. Unless he knew it was a trap to lure him, and he was looking for a way to save Rebekah without going through the Pastor. But yet, Klaus Mikaelson was a thousand-year-old Original hybrid. He'd be perfectly able of repelling a pack of vampire hunters. Even her Uncle Elijah wouldn't let the Council stop him. Their absences were weird.

Pastor Young stood outside his door and cried to Damon:

"Let him go, the boy's innocent!"

Damon glanced at Matt, who was still on the ground with his neck bleeding, and replied indifferently:

"Well, that's the point. Give me Stefan and Elena, he's all yours." (He raised Matt holding him by his neck.) "Come on, pastor. You know I'll kill him. I want to kill him!"

Hope then noticed Damon's narcissistic look. He wasn't bluffing. He really wanted to kill Matt. He intended to use him to save his brother and Elena, but he remained motivated to want the death of the former quarterback. The Tribrid wondered why, given that in her time, Damon and Matt were good friends. She knew little about the life of the Salvatore Brothers in 2011. Just that they had been around her dad and her family and were fighting against them.

And as she expected, Pastor Young did not comply with her demands.

"Go way! You are not invited in! And I'm not coming out!"

Then a gunshot sounded, and Damon collapsed to the ground. Hope turned her head to see two men with rifles heading towards them. She was tempted to intervene, but knew that she could not, because her presence would imply changing the future. Her future.

She went around the farm, making sure not to hit the policemen guarding the place. Until now, she had not been detected by her camouflage spell. She arrived at the stable. After she was sure there was no one there, Hope cast a spell on an entrance to the barn.

"Dissera Portus!"

Immediately, she was able to access the interior of the shelter. She was shocked by what she was going through. The interior of the barn was furnished with iron-fortified cells. An aeration system above each cell was spreading a gas from vervain to weaken the vampires.

Still invisible, Hope walked between the cells, and discovered Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore in different cells. And across the street was her aunt Rebekah, whose shirt had a blood stain. Hope really felt bad about seeing a family member trapped in that cell. She was her aunt. And she wanted more than anything to free her. But she knew she couldn't get involved in the events of that time at the risk of jeopardizing her future.

Then Stefan's voice took her out of her thoughts.

"Elena! Elena!"

Hope was so focused on Rebekah, she didn't notice Elena Gilbert's condition. When she looked at her, she was shocked to see that Elena was in an even worse state than Stefan and Rebekah. Curled up in front of the bars of her cell, her face was pale, her eyes barely open. Looks like she was on the verge of death. Yet Pastor Young sequestered her in his stable because she was a vampire...unless... Hope was thinking. It was obvious that Elena was dying, and it wasn't vervain that made her that way. Stefan and Rebekah were weakened, but not as much as she was, so it wasn't vervain. If it wasn't that… at that time, Elena was still human in 2011… But then why was she locked up with Stefan and Rebekah? She would be in jail, not in a barn… unless… Then Hope finally understands that judging by Elena's critical condition, she wasn't a vampire yet. Only in transition. She must have died with vampire blood in her body, and she didn't feed on human blood. And now her death was near.

Hope knew that she couldn't act, because her unwanted presence would definitely change the events of the future and she could not help feeling bad that she couldn't do anything. She wondered how Elena had survived this. Damon and Matt were in bad shape outside. They couldn't reach them. And Stefan and Rebekah were prisoners like Elena in their cells with reinforced iron and vervain weakening them. She didn't see how Elena Gilbert could have survived that.

It was then that two armed men of the Pastor entered the stable. Stefan and Rebekah watched them. Hope noticed that Stefan was staring at Rebekah, and then Rebekah nodded slightly. Apparently, they were up to something. Hope was curious and then looked at the scene, wanting to know what was going to happen. She made sure to put herself in a corner so that she could not bump into one of the Pastor's men.

"I got this. Bring the other one in," said one of the men to his colleague.

The second part went.

Rebekah called the man who was left with a weak voice.

"Excuse me? Sir?"

She coughed, while the deputy took out his weapon and came to see her looking at her with a scornful look.

"I thought I told you to shut up!"

Rebekah pretended not to have heard him and spoke to him in a gentle voice:

"Here's the thing… My family, we… We have money. Castles, apartments, jewelry. Just name your price and let me out."

But the deputy just gave him a frosty look.

"I'd much rather watch you die!"

Immediately, Rebekah rushed to the bars of her cell, revealing her fangs. The deputy startled in amazement and recoiled, his weapon pointed at her. Through the bars of his cell, Stefan managed to catch the man from behind, by the throat and hit his head against the bars several times until he died and threw the body in front of Elena's cell. The ground was drained of the policeman's blood.

Elena opened her eyes gently.

"Elena! Elena!" cried Stefan, wanting her to drink human blood from the ground in front of her cell.

She saw the blood and tried to reach it, but it was too far. She stretched her hand as far as she could, going so far as to put her head between the bars. The blood spread out. After struggling, she finally gets there. The tips of her fingers soaked in blood. She licked her fingers.

Having witnessed the whole scene, Hope eventually moved away from the stable, knowing that she would risk ruining the future if she showed up to help them. She now knew how Elena Gilbert had become a vampire.

She assumed that by drinking the blood of the man making her immortal, Elena would manage to get out of her cell.

Still invisible, she left Pastor Young's farm and began to return to the road. Hope wouldn't admit it, but she was very curious to see her family as it was before she was born. She reflects on what she had seen since she arrived in that time. The Council. Pastor Young. The Salvatore Brothers. Matt Donovan. Elena Gilbert. And her aunt Rebekah. Why didn't her dad come to rescue his sister? Did something happen to him at that very moment in the past?

Although she knew that her father could not technically die at that time, Hope could not help but be worried. She was afraid to see her dad again in a critical state. She needed to see him, even though she knew it wasn't her Klaus.

As she walked down the road, she found the police car that she had fled some time before. Having an idea, she began to search it and found a map of the town. She figured the best way to find her dad was to do a locator spell. She unfolded the map of the town on the hood of the car and made a slight incision on her wrist, pouring a few drops of her blood onto the map. She could use her blood to find her father because they had the same DNA. After shedding her blood, she recited the locator spell.

"Sequitur."

The blood quickly reached the place on the map where her dad was. She knew where to find him. Now how do we get there? She was in the middle of nowhere outside the town. She could turn into a wolf and go all the way, but there was the problem of clothes. She wouldn't have a spare. She finally got the two unconscious policemen out of the car, left them in a ditch, took the vehicle and set off for her destination. She had fun imagining Alaric Saltzman's reaction if he saw her behind the wheel of a police car. She didn't have a driver's license.

While driving, she was excited to see her father still alive. Just seeing him, even without interacting with him, because it would change the future, filled her with happiness. She couldn't wait to get there.

And it's done for the first chapter! I hope you enjoyed it!

In the next chapter, Hope is going to see her dad Klaus. She's very curious to discover how Klaus was before her birth. But unfortunately, it will not happen as she would have wanted and especially her action will have consequences.

It is quoted that Hope's date of birth is May 2, 2012. We can therefore assume that season 4 of The Vampire Diaries takes place during the year 2011.

See you soon.
