Chapter One
A hush fell over the crowd as the spectators all craned their necks and squinted, some even standing; trying to catch even the slightest sign of movement through the thick cloud of dust that had spread over the arena floor. The crowd collectively held it's breath in anticipation, the tense silence lasted only a few seconds but seemed to tick by at an agonizingly slow pace.
A dark figure began to take form from within the steadily dispersing plumes of smoke, and the crowd watched in abject horror as a bloody Midoriya Izuku emerged, a crooked smile stretched across his freckled cheeks. Despite his haggard appearance and obvious fatigue, he stubbornly refused to relieve the strain in his quaking legs and instead focused solely on holding the gaze of the Number One Hero, whose own eyes stayed fastened to the youth before him. Everyone watched in shock as the teen slowly raised his hand and mimed shooting the hero, even going as far as to say the word "Bang!" His smile turned manic as his shoulders began shaking with the hysterical laughter beginning to spill past his lips.
"What's wrong All Might-San? Not quite the outcome you were hoping for?" The crazed teen addressed the hero, his voice shaking slightly due to his laughter that had yet to fully subside. The obvious humor he took in this situation just added further to the uneasiness that had settled in the air of the crowd. The hero's jaw clenched in anger at the words, his fists clenching at his sides in agitation.
Why now was he unable to find words when his interference was needed the most? How the hell WAS he supposed to deal with the young man in front of him, who seemed either unaware that his actions were repulsive and cruel or he just lacked the ability to care.
All Might quickly rose to his feet, deciding he needed to prioritize catching the boy before he could harm anyone else. "Young man, you need to come with me. There's no point in resisting." The man didn't expect the boy to turn himself in easily, but he certainly didn't expect to see the boys face twist with an unmistakable fury at his words, all evidence of having ever laughed gone without a trace. "No point? Do you honestly think I would have wasted energy beating the shit out of this sorry excuse for a hero, if I didn't know I could get away with it?" He grabbed said boy by the hair and held him up so everyone could get a good look at the damage he'd inflicted. The blonde's face was covered in a menagerie of bruises and cuts littered all over his skin and he had a steady trail of blood down the right side of his face. There, being held at the mercy of his childhood friend, was none other than Bakugo Katsuki.
Over the many years of torment Bakugo had inflicted upon his skittish friend, never did he think a day would come where the nerd stood up for himself. Unfortunately for him, the quiet nature of his friend didn't mean he was fearful and timid, oh no. His intimidating intellect only seemed to grow in the silence of his pain and the more he pushed Izuku, the more his friends' truly wicked thoughts seemed to fester.
"No one bothered to offer me sanctuary. No one tried to help. My cries fell on deaf ears because I wasn't what society wanted me to be. I wasn't a born hero," He looked at the blonde in disdain before his gaze settled on his teacher once more. "Isn't it funny that you only seem to truly care when people like you suffer? When it's the people without power that need your protection the most? You 'Heroes' are just a society of glorified fucking hypocrites that revel in your power over those weaker than you." Every word is brimming with an obvious venom as it continues in a torrent from the youth's mouth. Every syllable is spat with a hatred that was long waiting to rear it's ugly head and show how the greenette truly felt regarding this unforgiving society he had been born to. He spares no more looks to the unconscious form of his former friend as he releases his grip on the blonde locks, he only watches All Might's face twitch as the 'thunk!' of flesh on concrete sounds out. He quickly pulls out a handkerchief and proceeds to thoroughly wipe the filth of blood and dirt from his hands in an exaggerated show of disgust. He smirks at the crowd before tossing the dirtied square of fabric off to the side and clapping his hands together. The mere action causes several to stiffen in fear of what he planned to do next.
"Well! This has been great exercise, but I really must be going now. Arrest to avoid, murders to plan, all that fun stuff." His smirk widens as he watches All Might begin to lunge for him just a second too late. Suddenly, a plume of purple mist appears behind the boy and he bows dramatically before disappearing through the portal as it envelopes him. By the time the Symbol of Peace reaches where the boy had just been, there's nothing left behind but a broken teen, a bloody cloth, and a growing sense that things were only going to get much, much worse.
.*- Time: Present / Location: LOV Hideout-*.
"You should have seen his face, Shi! I've never seen the Symbol of Peace at such a loss for words, and he couldn't even bring himself to throw a punch until I announced my departure!" A fit of giggles leaves the teens lips as he mentally recounts the miserable expressions he drew from the hero. "Ah, how I love bringing the mighty down a peg or three. And on National TV too, how embarrassing for him." The excited greenette heaves a sigh of bliss as he ceases his energetic pacing in favor of slumping in the bar stool beside his friend. "You did well, Midoriya. Sensei will be very proud once he hears of your success." Kurogiri, ever the den mother, compliments the teen. Izuku brightens at that, a 1000 watt smile gracing his face as he excitedly starts rambling to the warp gate user, who fondly listens as he cleans the glasses at the bar.
'He's so excited he forgets we were watching the whole thing.'Shigaraki thinks as he looks toward the TV which now featured reporters fighting to get a comment from the Symbol of Peace, who avidly ignored them in favor of talking in hushed tones to his fellow pro heroes.
'Likely scrambling to figure out how the hell to deal with the fiasco that had just occurred, as well as how to go about pursuing the orchestrator of the chaos who quickly bowed out after his finale.' Shigaraki thought with a snort as he looked at the teen beside him. So unassuming, yet so deliciously twisted with his hatred for the unfair world they lived in.
"An unappreciated gift whose potential is wasted by the ignorant fools of society." As Sensei had so accurately described their young ally's situation. "By the time those foolish 'heroes' realize the mistake they made by underestimating him, it will be far too late. Midoriya Izuku was never on the side of angels, he just hid his horns behind a false halo to further hurt his enemies. That is the beauty of his intellect, Tomura. He is capable of hurting others to the point of no return, digging deep into the weaknesses and insecurities of his opponents with a terrifying ease." At first, Shigaraki had his doubts upon meeting the boy. However, he no longer held even a shred of doubt in Izuku or his abilities. The kid had more than proved sensei's words right. He had taken their expectations and ground them into dust with his overwhelming success and flare. 'Oh yeah, this kid's gonna bring the hero world to it's fucking knees.' At that thought, a wicked grin stretched across the scarred face of Shigaraki. A grin anticipating the terror this angel-faced teen would wrought.
