Broken
Prologue
The moon glisten in the night sky as it loomed over New York City. Humming happily as he walked down the street Peter Parker smiled. He was finally heading home after a very productive day. He had passed all of his exams at school, got first place in the science contest and even managed to stop a few robberies while picking up some groceries.
Over all today has been wonderful he could even call it the best day of his life. But that all changed the moment he turned the corner. His humming stopped and his smile vanished when the hairs all over his body stood up. His eyes went from the street to the sidewalks sighing Peter shook his head. He couldn't understand why he was feeling this way. But the closer he moved to the main door of the apartment complex his senses acted up even more. Looking up to the window where they lived his heart raced.
"No..." Peter whispered.
Dropping his bags Peter climbed up the wall to his window. Glad to see it still open he slipped in with ease. Placing his hand over his heart his mind couldn't help but think the worst. Scanning the door he noticed the light creeping through the cracks of it. Aunt May always kept the main lights on when ever he came home late. So that didn't bother him, but with his senses refusing to calm down he carefully cracked the door open and took a peak.
Soon he opened the door completely as his eyes fell upon shredded up papers and glass on the floor as he stepped out of his room. He walked down the hall all the paintings and pictures that were displayed so neatly now joined in with the debris that covered the floor. Yet as he moved closer to his aunts room Peter stopped when he noticed spots of red liquid on the debris leading into the living room.
Taking a deep breath Peter followed the trail. He was welcomed by more debris on the floor along with a smashed up TV and a shredded up couch. As he looked back toward the floor he noticed the spots of red liquid getting larger as he headed toward the kitchen.
In the kitchen, flour was spread across the counter as sheets of chocolate chip cookies laid across the table. But as he looked down he noticed some of the cookies were in the red liquid as it went behind the counter. Time stopped for Peter the moment he looked around the counter. For laying on the floor was that of his Aunt May. It didn't take long for him to figure out that the reddish stains on the floor was her blood and she was laying in a pool of it. Tears upon Tears flooded his vision as Peter dropped to his knees.
Peter continued to stare at his aunt's body when a light wheezing sound reached his ears. Placing two fingers up to her neck a wave of hope washed over him for he found a pulse. While it was a weak one he didn't care for it meant his aunt was still alive.
Wiping away his tears Peter ran back to his room. When he returned he had on his Spider-Man outfit but he also had a white bed sheet in his hand. Carefully wrapping his aunt in the sheet Peter took a deep breath as he picked her up. Calling the ambulance would take too long he could get her to the hospital much faster.
Holding her tight Peter hopped out of the living room window. Swinging from building to building he needed to go faster. For it was a race against time for his aunts survival.
Landing in the hospital parking lot Peter laid his aunt down infront of the emergency doors. The moment the doors opened he ducked into the bushes. Looking through the bushes he watched as the nurses placed her on to a stretcher and rolled her inside.
Stepping from out of the bushes Peter nodded his aunt was safe now. But the questions of who attacked her and vandalized their home still loomed over him. Unsure what to do next Peter walked away, while his mind was filled with guilt it also harbored anger as well.
I will find who did this Aunt May I promise.
