Mornings can be dull after a day of busy paperwork, commanding the valkyries, and dealing with the honkai.
I woke from my 3 hours worth of sleep from filing paper work the previous day. As I kept fighting off the urge to fall back asleep, someone suddenly burst in my dorm room.
"MORNING, CAPTAIN!"
I jumped out of surprise.
"ACK! K-Kiana!" I let a sigh of relief.
"How many times do I have to tell you..."
"Heheh. My bad." She said with a small grin.
Kiana Kaslana was one of the many valkyries who have the power to fight against the honkai. She also has a habit of waking me up from my sleep...
"You're really sticking to this routine huh?" I said exhausted.
"Well I can't have our captain oversleeping. Besides I wanted to make you something to eat for breakfast." Kiana said with excitement.
My head immediately jumped up.
"S-sure, can't wait..."
Kiana, as reliable as she was at other things, cooking wasn't one of her strong suits. But I would never tell her that.
"Once you get yourself ready, come down to the kitchen." Kiana excitedly went downstairs towards the kitchen.
I got up to clean myself up. I changed into my captain outfit which consists of a white trench coat, black turtle neck sweater, white gloves, black jeans, and regular shoes.
After a while, I reluctantly went downstairs to the kitchen to see what Kiana was up to.
As I made way towards the entrance to the entrance, I could smell something burning. I managed to figure out what the smell was because what I saw next was smoke coming from the kitchen.
I panicked and rushed to see if Kiana was ok.
"Ah Captain, you're here! You're looking as good as always." Kiana complemented me as she was making a burning grilled cheese sandwich like it was nobody's business.
"Huh? Kiana, are you alright" I asked concerned.
"Eh? I'm fine. Why?"
Kiana continued to cook her burned grilled cheese sandwich with no concern.
"Uh- Nothing."
I helped turn off the stove and opened the windows so the smoke cleared out.
Afterwards I prepared some coffee for me and Kiana.
Kiana came up to the dinner table with the chared grilled cheese sandwich.
I hesitated to eat it but I couldn't resist against Kiana's puppy dog eyes and smile.
I slowly but surely moved the sandwich towards my mouth and took a big bite.
I recoiled a little bit due to the sudden taste of the burnt bread but began savoring the melted cheese.
"It's delicious Kiana." I said with a smile.
Her face lit up and jumped for joy.
"Yay! I'm so happy that Captain likes it!"
She jumped straight towards me which startle me a little bit.
Kiana then gave me a vicious hug.
"Ah Kiana, is it that big of a deal?" I said as I patted her head.
"It is to me, Captain." She said as she proceeded to kiss me on the cheek.
"Huh?"
"Think of it as my way of saying thank you, hehe~" Kiana said as she happily walked away.
I sat there as confused as I've ever been but at the same time, I felt a little good inside.
I let out a sigh.
"Well I guess that's one way to start your morning..."
